Blitzerz:1. Protection is now the job of soldiers and not Law enforcement agents— police. 2. Levites don't |

Obeying the Bible actually minimizes such situations. For instance, constantly showing love as the Bible dictates makes the likelihood of being physically attacked minimal. |

Blitzerz:Indeed, this is heavy-duty ignorance on your part if you assume the job of providing local security is the same as securing the entire nation from external threats. Do we really need to go into a tutorial about the difference between Law enforcement — the police, prosecutors, etc.— and the Military? ![]() Look, that you are going this far in order to pull any punches you can on behalf of your gods of men clearly means you finally see the problem with your vain rituals only you refuse to accept the truth of it. ![]() |

Blitzerz:That you refuse to see and accept the answer that has been given you so far leaves me speechless... religion has indeed done its damage here, and nothing can help it see past the delusions. ![]() Anyways, continue with your gods of men who pretend to be what they can never be to you... of real benefit that is. ![]() |

Blitzerz:If one operates a church in a location where Churches are being attacked from time to time, the pastor don't need the Bible to tell him to employ the services armed security men( mopol, army, Avg etc) knowing that God will not come down from haven to defend them when it happens. |

For Christians, prayer is a top priority. However, there are many ways to pray, and prayer is not limited to language alone; action is also a form of prayer. Therefore, in the face of the realities set by God, leaving those places filled with conflict and danger is the most powerful prayer to the Creator. |

The best form of DEFENSE is ATTACK! So as the most wonderful counselor {Isaiah 9:6} of all time Jesus taught his disciples to go out there and ATTACK their enemies through zealous preaching and industriously teaching of God's word. His disciples are not to wait for their enemies to make the first move rather they're to go and meet the blindfolded captives of their enemies right in their homes {Matthew 10:11-13} but our struggle is not against flesh and blood {Ephesians 6:12} so we are not fighting with physical weapons but spiritual sword {Ephesians 6:17} that's why Jesus ordered all his disciples to make sure each of them possess a sword {Luke 22:36} this means a complete copy of God's word {John 17:17} which is so sharp that anyone can't feel the same after a blow. Hebrews 4:12 By going to ATTACK the captives under demonic influence we will face fierce opposition not from demons that we can't see but from the blindfolded captives whom we want to set free because Satan has blinded them making them feel that we are their enemies! 2Corinthians 4:4 Of course we will rescue some but many will resist because Satan's influence on them is really powerful {1John 5:19} so while those we have rescued are showing LOVE to one another despite their imperfection {John 13:34-35} Satan's captives will continue killing one another in cold blood due to politics and racism! Revelations 6:3-4 For instance i was a victim of politics, racism and nationalism always thinking of fighting for justice while we have to carry weapons against our fellow humans who also have the same thinking until Jesus' disciples (Jehovah's Witnesses) who now made me understand the will of God that faithful people from all over the earth to form one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers {Isaiah 2:2-4} not seeing my neighbor as my enemy simply because he or she doesn't believe in the same kind of human leader. ![]() |

cornelboy:You're NOTHING but a CINO (Christian In Name Only). I am certain you do NOT even know or follow the tenets of Christianity but as always, you will be on a platform espousing what you have no knowledge or understanding about. Go ahead with your true Christianity and keep wallowing in your first degree of ignorance! |

| Re: How Should Christians/believers Defend Themselves From Attack And Violence? by UnabashedIPOB: 4:53pm On Sep 25, 2023 |
cornelboy:I really do NOT get your point. I asked you a simple question to show me where in your own specific Bible it says that you should NOT defend yourself from an enemy who came to kill you but to keep praying. Instead of answering the question, which I know you can NEVER answer if you're honest with yourself, you tried to sidestep it. The genesis of this whole conversation is how Christians should defend themselves from attacks or violence. I and most reasonable people including the white man who brought Christianity to you are of the opinion that it's your God-given right to defend yourself from any attacks no matter who the perpetrator is. But you on the other hand along with the majority of African Christians especially Nigerians believe that you should do nothing but only pray to GOD to come from heaven to fight for you when your life is in peril. That my friend, is a misguided understanding of GOD's teachings! Like I said earlier, you believe what you believe until your life is taken from you. |

UnabashedIPOB:Where did the early apostles's of Christ and early church fight and defend themselves? What do you understand by "love and pray for your enemies"? What does "if you were slapped on the right cheek turn the other cheek" mean? What does "be harmless like a dove but be wise like serpent" mean? Can you bring just a single verse that says we should defend ourselves with weapons or anything? You really need to start reading your Bible. |
| Re: How Should Christians/believers Defend Themselves From Attack And Violence? by UnabashedIPOB: 6:30pm On Sep 25, 2023 |
cornelboy:You're misinterpreting the Bible that you're reading. A word about the “slap” that Jesus says we should endure. Jesus here speaks of personal slights of any kind. The slap (or the “smiting,” as the KJV has it) does not have to involve literal, physical violence. Even in our day, a “slap in the face” is a metaphor for an unexpected insult or offense. Did someone insult you? Let him, Jesus says. Are you shocked and offended? Don’t be. And don’t return insult for insult. Turn the other cheek. At no time was Jesus telling you to turn the other cheek when someone comes to kill you otherwise, you would NOT be alive to turn the other cheek. Can a dead person turn the other cheek? Absolutely NOT. It's only a living person who can turn the other cheek. So, my friend, you do NOT even understand the Bible that you're quoting. If Jesus Chris meant turning the other cheek in the face of death, HE would never have said to turn the other cheek. There would be no point in turning the other cheek because you would be dead! |
| Re: How Should Christians/believers Defend Themselves From Attack And Violence? by cornelboy(f): 7:48pm On Sep 25, 2023 |
UnabashedIPOB:Lol you only addressed the slap, what about the others I quoted? I don't even agree with your interpretation. No apostles and disciples of Jesus Christ defended themselves during persecution and attacks. They depended on God for their protection. Many were killed and persecuted, yet they didn't fight back. They remained harmless and peaceful. Some of them left their home and dispersed. |
