Apple was once sued because updates were sent to slow down phones,
Apple was caught,
Other OEMs can be doing same too,I can't confirm,
But to make newer models sell,
OEMs can go to extra mile.

But me I know I would keep updating my phone to the latest os software and security,

I have had a Poco f4 and OnePlus 8 pro die on me at there prime,

Would I say it's was update that killed them?

Lol. I actually know you have the device... reason why I emphasized on each individual doing whatever they want. They should just have expectations for anything afterwards. I'm creating awareness for such people.

My Dad and Aunt own Redmi Note 7 from 2019. And they even update their devices once it pops up without my assistance.

Those two phones are running smoothly without issues.

Same applies to my old Redmi Note 5 Pro from 2018 that I have given out and my brothers RN9S.

The only Xiaomi casualty in my house is a Redmi Go that the owner accidentally dropped in water and didn't know until after 2hours.

Omo, it's like my Redmi Note9S is slowly going....🥲

Over the past one week my battery performance has been damn poor. Seems the battery has gone bad as it massively drops once fully charged. I fit see 95% now and the next five minutes I'm seeing 80%.
I was already planning for a replacement battery only to notice the phone reboots on its own for the past 3 days. It just reboots once a day. This has got me a bit worried, as I wasn't planning on changing the phone until summer next year to upgrade to Poco F5.

Who knows what might be causing the occasional reboots?? Any solutions?

Do this first it will take you to android 12 then you should be prompted for one to Android 13.

Or better still download manually

https://bigota.d.miui.com/V13.0.16.0.SKFMIXM/miui_SWEETGlobal_V13.0.16.0.SKFMIXM_0f3eb965ad_12.0.zip

Download with a download manager lime 1DM+

Follow the instructions below.

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11/12/13 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 11/12 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Should I update Miui 12 update first before Miui 13 because I am receiving both updates.....or Should I skip Miui 12 and download Miui 13 update?

Does it overheat?

I don't think so... never noticed it overheating until few minutes ago after the phone has rebooted more than 15times.

I read somewhere yesternight that the battery and power button being short circuited cause reboots.

I just don't know what's wrong. Cos all this just started all of a sudden.
I've been uninstalling some apps since yesterday night.

How about the Poco F3, please what's your opinion on it as well. (UK used/Brand new)

With that budget Poco f3 is possible.

Note 12 pro is the same as mentioned above.

The 5g is the only different model.

You are not creating awareness, you are spreading ignorance. My cousin's redmi note 10 pro has only gotten better with updates. The RN8 I gave my sister is still in excellent condition safe for the battery replacement.

Updates either fix existing performance issues or further enhance software experience. Telling someone to just get a new phone when they need another android version is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while, no offence. If a major update is rolled out in a rush without proper optimization and quality testing, some users might be affected sure. But it is worth keeping in mind that new software updates usually fix the problems introduced by the previous version that introduced major changes. OEMs roll out updates to iron out corrective issues all the time.

Even apple just released a fix for a bug on the iOS 17 released recently.

So with his advice someone who bought an iphone with that version with that bug should not update because the OEMs knew why the phone was shipped with that version.

Don't uninstall anymore apps jor. Just take it to a technician or backup your files somewhere and do a factory reset and see first.
