Use money supermarket, confused.com etc to check insurance. No one can tell you otherwise for certain. Also, if you have someone with a clean license and long driving history consider adding them as named driver, it drops the cost of insurance at sometimes.

Good evening everyone , please does anyone use British Gas for their electricity , if yes, which is better their standard variable or fixed tariff. I agree with you. In my case, my 9ja licence had expired (i.e I had used more than 12 months from date of arrival) so I had to update it. Still think it's silly for my insurance coy to say with my new status, I was at a higher risk hence the surcharge...it's counter-intuitive. Maybe I spoke to the wrong customer care agent. Oh well

How is it a terrible idea? How does having an additional UK licence invalidate his original Nigerian/international licence? Isn't that what he has been using all this while and was the original basis for his existing insurance policy? Why should a new driving qualification remove his intrinsic status as an international driving of X years from Nigeria?

The main reason I informed my insurance company was because I expected a financial benefit, not a surcharge because I should have a reduced risk level compared to before I got the UK licence, but alas it didn't happen.

If you have GBP 100 to waste, no problem. Some of others have better things to do with the money even if it's in excess rather than dashing the government!

If he has an accident/claim, all he has to do is present his old Nigerian licence and be mute about the new UK licence and his claims would still be valid / processed. C'est fini! I don't understand how that can constitute insurance fraud....never.

You're offering a bad advice and if anyone gets into an accident or is stopped by Police on that license, they will have issues to deal with. Your international licence and any insurance you have on it becomes invalid once you're granted a UK license. Try to verify the legality of your advice please, so you don't inadvertently put people in trouble.

Fair enough, thanks for drawing my attention to this, wasn't aware. All this fine print stuff sha... hope they're not strict when push comes to shove.

Insurance quotation, is normally based on personal circumstances, vehicle type, location and experience........

If I got a quotation for the same vehicle, I bet I would get a quotation of £233 per annum...... And that's considering all the above factors + over 10 years of non claims bonus ........😁

Best thing to do, start paying eventually prices would drop off or get an unpopular vehicle with under 998CC ........😜

Nothing wrong or backbreaking about Amazon job.

I have done that job and know a lot of people who have done it and still doing it. I know two people who worked for Amazon for 16 and 21 years respectively before they left last year.

Amazon will train you for any task that you have to carry out and you will get refresher training yearly.

Pay package is not bad at all, probably the only company I know that gives permanent workers 40-50hrs yearly to go home anytime they want without any approval. Once you managed to get their blue badge then it’s Job for life.

Good morning great minds,

Please I need help on a situation. My hubby works in care at the moment on a tier 2 worker visa. It's supposed to be supported living. And he was employed as a positive behavioural specialist. He has trainings and skills till level 3 on this.

He takes the train to this new job and we were just trying to manage and bear the cost for transportation pending when we move to the new place. But prices of housing there is so much on the high side. He was going to work about 4 days in a week initially. I was able to do some shifts on the side with that arrangement but as soon as he was given the cos and he was successful they syarted acting up. He doesn't have a permanent shift. And I can't even work as the shifts are nights and days sometimes.. Recently, they changed his rota and started giving him shifts like 1.5hrs per day. It's so wild that he has to go to this job just for 1.5hr and spend about 20pounds on transportation and then go back the next day for 1.5hrs again! We have kids and it's affecting us financially. We were enduring this becauseof the sponsorship. Now he just feels trapped.

He has emailed the office but they havent acted or responded to his email.
Its beginning to affect us. We don't know how to tackle this as we are barely 2 years here. Please anyone who can help as to what to do about this.
