forgiveness:
Since fg compromised to NLC. There is no basis for strike.

NLC wanted fg to increase the money above 25,000 naira. FG agreed and increased to 35,000 naira.

NLC wanted the money for all workers nit only low ranks, FG succumbed.

Which strike are you expecting again?

They ask for 6 months to formulate new salary structure, that will not result to inflation, provide affordable transportation etc.
even if they promise 1 million for every worker as far as the implementation didn't start now, then forget it. Gbajabiamilla did the same thing to ASSU but when it reach time to pay he denied them

It's expected considering how NLC and TUC have been conducting the affairs of the unions. NLC have just negotiated for approximately 10 per cent of Nigerians.
How do workers in states government and private sector benefit from M35,000 monthly payment for 6 months? Does FG have database for the vulnerable that will receive N25000 for three months?
What happens after six months and the situation do not change for better?

Strike will not stop negotiatio rather it will strengthen it and make it more fruitful.
So, don't be too quick in calling off strike.

Well....with the momentum the strike notice has generated, it would have had devastating effects on our fragile economy if allowed to go on..

I must commend the NLC and TUC leadership for this struggle...it wouldn't have been easy...

They technically forced the FGN hand....the President announced NGN 25,000 support to wages of low cadre FGN workers....NLC and TUC were able to force the hands of FGN to raise this to NGN 35,000 and also included everyone under FGN payroll...this is huge achievement in my own opinion. We can argue the amount is still small considering the social economic realities of Nigeria today...but it is something achieved by these pressure groups.

They also achieved Tax waivers on Diesel..that's also huge.

For me..it's a win-win situation for FGN and Labour unions.

My headache now is the fate of State Government workers and many of us working at private establishment...this struggle, as usual doesn't cover us..

State workers will have to start their own fight with their state governor.

No one will fight for private organisation workers. Our hope lies only on positive results of economic policies...FGN need to sit-up..we need to start seeing his positive results

The i.pob flati.nos do not reason this way. Everything that will distabilize the country is what gives them joy.

Like carrying drugs
Making fake products
Opening baby factories
Planning coup
Causing civil war
Selling Galla on traffic
Terrorism
Praising UGM
Attempting to make 3rd become 1stgrin grin

What about private entities?

The present NLC is selfish and stupid.

NLC is just a political party that uses the emotions of the poor to catch cruise. The NLC leaders are selfish. Just looking for their pockets.

That will be good for everyone...!

The only question is if the FG will keep their end of the bargain.

Another threat of strike will be soundly ignored even by the most suffering citizens.

It's a tried and tested formula that works brilliantly in Nigeria.

Do you know why ENDSARS was effective.
The people rose as one, no politicans, no NLC
It was powerful and loud. The government felt it. They quickly pushed NLC to join them and the movement died.

The only way to make this Govt listen is to reenact that ENDSARS spirit.. nothing less.. no NLC no TUC no trade union can do it. They're all political tools for the govt.

The problem with Joe Ajaero is that he has made the NLC a political tool and therefore is exposed to political manipulations, Tinubu is not Buhari who is happy to act aloof, Tinubu is constantly thinking one step ahead, that N25k increment gazzumped Joe and the NLC because their members wouldn't follow them into a strike action if they suspect a measure of good faith from the government.

We saw it some weeks back when they called a strike and some workers refused to participate in several states.

Endsars seemed to be effective if your definition of 'effective' is stealing, destroying public and private properties, because the government was quiet about it.

Make una no enter road again with the sole aim of destroying properties and think the government will be quiet again.

The problem with that increment is that it has actually relieved FG and is very tactful.
By law the NLC and TUC are overdue to enter into pay increase negotiations with FG & states and the estimate is that minimum wage should be around 50-80k as a living wage, but with this 25k the government has come into the lower end of the scale would be able to hold off any wage negotiations.

Leave them. No one will tell them when it hits them head on. Let them keep blaming Igbos and obi for their woes and everything...while their fellow Nigerians/ tribesmen attempt to jump off bridges and into the lagoon out of frustration and hunger.

Time will deal with them.

They're called "mindless" minions for a reason.
