English ...English.... We have two key words here, "gold" and "reserve".
It meant to be saved, to be reserved, not for spending

On your paper. Nigerians are so against any positive development in the country yet everyday you cry for positive change. But each time anything positive comes from the government you hate the positive you reject it by saying it's a lie, it's fake, it's only on paper, if I were a politician, I won't do anything, because the average Nigerian doesn't expect you to and when you do, they will still castigate you for doing the good, some will say it's eye service. You Felix are an enemy of the country.
You obviously don't even know what the word reserve means but you are the first the discredit the government, simple English word you can't take responsibility to understand but you will blame the government for not having a job
Anyone who wants negative will keep seeing negatives in their lives .. they will cry tire

Gold belongs to the miners

Despicable things

Anyway what's my business sha, SS are not complaining, but I know one day when SE becomes very aware of what is taken from their land, they will revolt
It's not everything you complain about, I'm tired of reading comments like yours everytime...

Those gold miners are investors just like Dangote investment in the petroleum industry. There's difference between investing legally and illegally, it's not everything you wail about... shocked

It is not about having gold, it is what you do with the gold.

Funny enough that same Ghana, formerly called Gold Coast, is among the last on the list , even behind Nigeria.

Despite being an independent nation before Nigeria, Ghana, like other nations older than our nation, have gone way behind Nigeria in terms of development and if anyone had predicted that Ghana would be behind us even in Gold, no one would have believed it.

I am happy that the CBN, under Emefiele, had even assured our Gold miners that Federal Government is ready to buy their gold from them too.

We need more investments in mining. There's abundance of gold in Osun and Oyo state. This is the best time to invest in the mining sector and you will even enjoy tax holidays for 3 years and you can repatriate 100% of your funds!
Invest in Lagos and the neighbouring South West states to enjoy great returns and best investor- friendly experience.

There's huge clay, sand for glass making etc deposit in Lagos , Ogun has loads of granite, bitumen, limestone etc, Osun and Oyo have perhaps the largest deposit of lithium ore in Africa along with gemstones, gold etc, Ondo has one of the world's largest deposit of bitumen.

Bring your investment to South West Nigeria today. God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

That's because any change or policy that doesn't affect the people positively is a fictitious change at best, or worse, it is only beneficial to the thieves milking this country dry.

The main things that would affect this country is a stable economy, power supply, good roads and transportation network, and improved security. That is basically all we need. But the government can and will never be able to provide these things

How can someone begin to buy Nigerian gold. I've always picked gold and crypto currency as some of my choicest alternative assets. Do you know how one can get started investing in the Nigerian gold industry
It's simple. Just talk to a goldsmith and apprentice for a period to learn the trade. It's still largely traditional and held within families in Yorubaland. If I need to invest in gold today, it's as simple as ABC because we grew up seeing our mothers do it wink

Btw, those things you listed above are not assets, you just dey play and it's somehow to even put such things next to gold. Gold is not their mate abeg

Ghana has actually done well in some key areas. It's AHEAD of Nigeria in electricity, ease of doing business and human development indexes.

Stop misinforming people. As we type here, Ghana is so broken broke that it cannot even pay back the holders of its euro bond and is even begging Nigeria to accept gold in place of scarce forex from her to pay for oil , gas and electricity.

JuanDeDios:
You accuse me of "misinforming" but go ahead to say nothing that refutes what I said. Ghana's current inflation and debt crises are well known. How does that change the facts they're ahead of us in the areas I mentioned? And if you think Ghana's inflation and debt crises are much worse than ours, you can continue in your bubble.
Again I repeat, stop misinforming people. Ghana is doing very very badly. That you tried to make light of the debt crisis of Ghana alone is particularly troubling for me. A debtor is a slave. Ghana is so bad that it can't even get ordinary onions and it's at crossroads now. The tema Refinery is their new hope yet this is a refinery that is just like a fifth of Dangote Refinery in terms of refining capacity. That Ghana is now a laggard in Gold today means you just don't get how very low Ghana has gone.
Ghana has lost her place in gold, Cocoa, forex , education and even sports! If you still believe anything else then your perception of reality is at fault sir.

LoL this one has lost his sanity.
He said the government can and will never be able to provide these things, so why are you bittered since by your claim they are doing exactly what you expect them to do....

You can see that your mind is wired and programmed for negativity, that's why you hate to hear any good news on development.
You get uncomfortable when the government does something good and you begin to say whatever you can to convince yourself that the good news is a lie.
You mind can not and will never be able to conceive good.
With this your level of hate you are already in 500L at the college of witchcraft, I have no doubt you will be graduating in flying colors
Re: Africa: Top 10 Countries With The Largest Gold Reserves 2023 by DoctorAyukebot(m): 9:58am On Oct 05, 2023
A lot of ignorant talk on this topic. The reserves in this topic refers to the gold held by a national central bank, intended mainly as a guarantee to redeem promises to pay depositors, note holders etc. This isn't about the gold mine reserves of a country.

there is nothing positive in the article because some of know the rot in that sector.....back in 2018 I got to know about a state in the north were everyone knew about diamond deposit but never knew they had a plan to use violence as distractions, this is just one state. There are only few legitimate miners in this country and the government has alot of work to do.

The late Yar adua was the only president that wanted to sanitize the industry,it was that period I got to know the reality in the mining sector.

Oyo State has the largest deposit of granite deposi in the Southwest. The entire Oyo Town , including surrounding villages, is sitting on a deep bed of granite. It's even more so as you move up-north Oyo State towns like Iseyin , Saki ,Tede, Igboho, Kishi, etc.

How can one invest in mining precious metals and gemstones in Nigeria?

I mean the whole process to get government approval and are the "fields" that will be leased out already proven to contain such natural resource?
