Mine is greed. I made a profit of 150k in naira yesterday I was waiting for it to hit 200k before I close d trade because it was a quick scalp, before I knew it trade reversed and entered margin call.
my feet became cold instantly.
so no matter what now, I won't stake my trade if going in my direction, I will just maintain the original lot size I entered the trade with.

when I heard about forex in January I quickly sold my shop and invested the money which some of you know how that went.

my problem is being on the chart 247, I think that thing messes one up, you begin to make mistakes from your original plan for the week.

1. use small lots
2. don't stay on the chart 247, I have to look for something else to do to keep me occupied
3. allow the trade play out(impatience)
4. input your Tp and Sl. am still working on this

Between 2nd and 3rd weeks of the month. This is because I understand that the market moves in cycles.
This is when I'm swing trading.

When I'm scalping, it's the London session between 1:30am - 6:00am NY time.

In these times, the market generally moves in one direction as I've observed.

My two cents...

Backtest your strategy

Have a max drawdown for week and for the month for your personal acct

Have a plan to sit out after every win, after every loss, after every missed trade and after news event


You can do 40 mins break after every win or loss and 90 mins break after every missed trade...fomo is deadly.

You can also do 60-90 mins after news event occurs

Also when market breaks to new level on weekly, like it is on eurusd or xauusd, take break for 12-15 hrs for each day unless market proves it is clearly trending on 4h chart.

Truly speaking, market will do whatever it will do no matter how long you look at the chart

Unless you are a scalper for 4-10 pips, there is no need to look at the chart all day.

EU has been bullish since the London session today.

Got into about 2 Buy trades and the first hit Tp while the second is Presently in Profits.

Once it gets to 12 or 12:15, I'll close them manually.

USD is getting weaker.

Thanks for all you're doing to help traders. You're fulfilling the phrase: we rise by lifting others.
Mine are two: impatience and indiscipline.
For indiscipline, I have resolved to lower my expectations(profit wise) and take fewer trades that meet my analysis.
For impatience, still racking my brain around it as I jump into the market when it's getting to my POI so i don't miss out. Guess my emotions still playing.

Seriously, I never knew easy trading can be achieved by keeping emotion in check. I was 2% up but l did not realize my profit, and its gone. Good experience, how I wish prop firms will even give us 1:10 leverage, it will reduce the speed of loosing account. Few years back I ask Alpari to reduce my leverage to 1;20, they ask me why , but if it is to increase it, they will do it easily. The lot size in this competition make sense. Few hours to end of the week. @infofirst this lot size does not favour indices. I could not trade us30 because the labour is in vain.

Eurusd should be bearish as well from 1.059

Gbpusd is at a key area where it can fall from

I've learnt a lot in the challenge already.
Henceforth I will go with 0.10 for indices and 0.2 for currencies/10k of my account size. It will help keep emotions in check.
