after U20 world 3-5 players from the set are drafted into the senior national team and that is how we discovered most of our best players. But since the Advent of foreign born players, that transition process has stalled.

It has nothing to do with the advent of foreign born players... How many of our u-20 players in the past few years have really gone on to perform well at club level? Performance at national u-20 level is hardly a basis for invitation to the senior team..

90 percent of those who criticize shehu is not for football reasonโ€ฆdem no just like d guy name ,d guy was superb during 2008 qualifiers like u rightly said and he was a committed player

Nah. I don't remember anybody criticizing Shehu back when we didn't have competition for his position and he was performing regularly for his clubside.

At the moment, however, things have changed and the RB position has become a lot more competitive.

Una like wahala too much, someone popped up from nowhere and you guys are given him attentions.

If Osimhen is 34 then Awoniyi is 35,even Awoniyi senior brother is 30,so I can argue it when it comes to some players certain ages.

I pointed it out here sometime ago that a neighborhood brother was in Japan 93 camp as secondary school boy at age 15 but later lost out to Celestine Babayaroโ€ฆ

It was here some Dey call Martins 50 year old man but I know he is not up to 40 cuz my younger brother who went with Martins to Italy to join Regiana through Churchill Oliseh is just 40 and a year older than Martins

At 35 not easy to kick the ball again except by God grace.

Cut the lies and face the truth.
I hate hypocrisy.

Is Chukwueze and Simon better passers of the ball, do they bring more defensively, are they faster.

They can do more my foot.
Nonsense and rubbish.

If Peseiro desires let him not invite Ejuke and Nwakali.

It was on this thread that after seeing Peter Olayinka, touted him to start instead of Moses Simon on the left against Egypt, save for team chemistry, because of the obvious limitations that we have in these current wingers.

Eguavoen did not dress Ejuke for the match against Tunisia. Nwakali who was starting from the bench brought stability, control and creativity more than the midfielders that were starting ahead of him. These players will never be appreciated and we will keep paying for it.
This thing pain you oo. Abeg ooo. It's football we are discussing. Look at how you are foaming in the mouth, lashing out, crying and throwing up a tantrum. If he does not invite, them, shey you will bring down the heavens. Carry your puerile anger and vituperation away from here jare.

Appears football has fallen for this madness of inclusivity. What's with this trend of multiple hosts? I guess we are moving into a phase where a single host is a thing of the past.

You forgot to consider quality and competition. Osimhen, Ndidi, Nacho and others were easily drafted into the national team because of what they offered and the fact that we couldn't boast of quality players in their respective position then.

Angry, yes. Vituperative, No.

How you read those lines of mine as vituperative is a situation that needs serious study, something is wrong somewhere.

So there are people who are still on this age thing after we saw these boys as kids who passed the MRI at U17 and saw how they transformed physically.

Even look at JJ Okocha and Kanu, sebi people were saying they were over 40 years old when they were still playing for the Eagles about 20 years ago. Do they look like men in their 60s today?

Most of this people are dishonest in their daily life, so they tend to generalize, believing everyone is like them. Some do this because of envy abi jealousy, dy don't believe someone at that age can act so mature maybe because dy still dy eat mama thank you at that age.

I clearly said "the past few years".. How many of our U-20 graduates of the past few years have done something tangible at club level to merit an invitation to the national team? List some.... All those names you mentioned are not recent.. Iheanacho and Ndidi are the most recent and that was 8 years ago

Foreign born and academy players have taken over due to poor grassroots development from NFF.

I understand it is a new dawn. Fifteen years ago, players like Ogwuche, Federicks, Nnadi, Eletu, Daga, Akinsanmiro, Jude Sunday, Daga, and Agbalaka would have made their senior debuts. The advantage is that there is no scouting head for our national team handlers. The disadvantage is that we can hardly get players like Osimhen, Kanu, and Okocha from those rejected by their country of birth's national teams in Europe.

Countries like Morocco,Algeria, Senegal etc aren't playing around, they're really stacking up with the best of their dual nationals while we're struggling to no avail to even get our average ones to commit to us. We really need to step up our game and fast before other African teams leave us behind smh

Basic Education still just as important as Pro Football: Carlos Tevez's angle. A re-emphasis.

Current Independiente manager and ex-EPL and Argentina legend, Carlos Tevez said this.....

"3 of the boys in our squad today told me that they did not know how to add or subtract. That is poverty. We are now setting up a project with the club to provide them with a teacher, so that after training they can spend two hours studying. We can bring a boy food, we can help him with a lot of things, but studying... he needs to know how to protect himself, how to know to read what he is signing."

I guess he's replacing Adeleye who's stuck in Israel.

Don't think he deserves at least not for now but everyone is owed a second chance all the best to him.
