Proper planning wont prepare you for the wickedness of fellow Nigerians who you have prior arrangements with

Best thing is to plan with airbnb in mind and not involve anyone in the process... Plan like you don't have anyone abroad

Has anyone reported flyingtipping to the local council?

About a week ago, someone dumped a sofa on the walkway outside my apartment (I'm in the downstairs apartment). Pretty much the same way people drop unwanted stuff for free pick-up.

Someone just knocked on my door now asking if I'm the one that dumped it there. Surprised at the question, I answered I wasn't the one. She advised calling the council to inform them so they can come pick it up.

I'm happy to report it to the council for onward evacuation, but wanted to check if anyone has had a similar experience and if there might a bounce back on me for reporting.

I would get the taxi. The airport is not in the city. Barnstaple is a long way off as well.
boneruns:
Good day all,

For those who live around Exeter, please what is the easier, faster and cheaper transport from Exeter airport to Barnstaple? I checked on google and the fastest is Taxi in approximately 1 hour, which cost around £72.

And the bus takes many hours.

Please are you there any other alternatives? Exeter airport seem to be the closest to Barnstaple.

Thank you.

Yes indeed. I agree with your last statement. Lets forget that noone could criticise the government for fear of disappearing at night . Lets forget the extrajudicial killings.

( i m being sarcastic)
Freedom of speech is paramount. The gift of being able to criticise your government is highly prized and I will not give it up for anything) At least we can cry about the hardship. Life was as bad under the junta but we were not even allowed to cry

Zero comebacks from reporting. Council may not come for months though. Tories have broken everything. There has never been a better time to be a criminal than now. Prisons are full to the brim

Hey bro, I checked this out and would like to put in for it and also relocate; as I’m currently in Cardiff, with the hope of getting sponsored, is it viable?

Thanks as I await your response

Prayer over a £4k POT ... > sad grin

Some Nigerians and the urge to throw wishful prayers rather than practical solutions and approaches.

Prayer doesn't built a system nor provide a practical solution, if not most of you folks won't have left 9ja to a less praying nation.... And Nigeria would have been a heavenly nation by now!

Schoolhike:

Lastly, my advice,

In times like these, I believe in seeking guidance through prayer. While situations may appear bleak now, life has a way of presenting solutions when we least expect them. We've all faced various challenges before, and looking back, we see they've become a part of our growth story. Similarly, this too shall pass.

Imagine if you were in her shoes, having made an unintentional error. How would you hope she'd react? It's a chance for compassion, understanding, and support. Life often tests our strength and patience in ways we don't anticipate.

I genuinely hope you both can find a middle ground and a solution that works best for your family. Remember, time has a unique way of healing wounds and making things better. Stay strong and united, especially now. I pray that God guides you both during this time and makes the path ahead smoother for you.

Take care and be there for each other.

Religion is a political tool. keep the masses in poverty, their only hope becomes religion and dry fasting.

Hmm,, I find your response interesting , particularly your take on the role of prayer in problem-solving. while I agree that practical solutions are paramount, its essential to remember that people find strength, solace and resilience in various ways (prayer being one for many individuals).

It’s also quite funny to witness how quickly people draw broad conclusions about others based on limited interaction. The advice provided was multifaceted and included (practical, legal and emotional support), coupled with an element of spiritual encouragement, considering the original poster's apparent distress.

Interestingly , correlating a nation's challenges or lack of development with its religious practices is an oversimplified viewpoint, challenges countries face are influenced by numerous factors, not merely spiritual beliefs or practices.

Nations including Nigeria navigate through lots of challenges, like (political dynamics, economic variables and many more, that aren’t solely resolved through spiritual or practical means alone. They're tackled by a mix of strategies and approaches which in my opinion Nigeria might lack currently.

Practical solutions and spiritual beliefs aren't mutually exclusive and have coexisted for centuries by providing comprehensive support in times of need.

Let's aim to be supportive, understanding that there's a spectrum of approaches and beliefs out there, each valuable in its own unique way.

Meanwhile, guys don't miss out on the abundant opportunities over at the Civil Service job website.

There are a lots of roles available, and some listings are looking to fill a substantial number of positions I'm talking 80, 100, 250, and even 600 spots for some roles.

Don't forget, the more the number of people needed to fill the role, the better your chances are of landing a position

And, for students, while you're studying, consider applying aswell, Many full-time jobs listed also accommodate part-time work, perfect for fitting around your study schedule.

I've seen this firsthand in my previous department, where my colleagues from 9ja and India worked part-time while studying.

A majority of the full-time roles are flexible, allowing you to fulfill your 20 hours while gaining that needed UK work experience.

I believe there might be an option to transition to full-time after your studies (though you might want to double-check that).

If you are very desperate for job I would advise you filter the job grade for Administrative Officer role, hopefully with 3-8 applications you could get one or more.
