Rayban26: That is how some never do well, lowlife individual on Nairaland and other social media platforms were defending subsidy removal blindly. Now that the shit finally hit the roof, they started crying and begging online. Many of them thought that, because they couldn't afford a car, the high cost of fuel wouldn't be any of their problems but now that rice is sold at #2k per congo, I hope it is none of their problems as well. |

The plan is Africa depopulation through:- - war - famine - vacinnes They rape us of our resources, use the house n!993rs to collect evil loans, impose higher interest rate on us ( compared to other nations), and then offer us suspicious vacinnes. Tell me, is this not their agenda? Modified---------- Did you notice the name of the IMF director ? Abebe Selassie. Probably related to former Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. They use the house negro , while hiding. Unknown to Nigerians, only 1 Jewish family owns IMF: Rothschild. |

Hahahaha.... They've started again... nairalander1, come and see ... Higher tax, okay we'll pay. As long as the illegal taxation is effectively removed. And serious actions are taken to curtail pilferers, so good and uplifting works can be done with the taxes, It's all not a bad thing. But as usual, I know what will happen... It's either they take this outside advice without removing the illegal taxation (as in the case with building toll gates, yet agbero still dey collect on the same road. Abeg, wetin the toll dey for? ) And the Generals and lieutenants of these collections can't allow it go in peace. Not with all the foot soldiers bolstering their sense of self. Or... They ignore the advice as this will spoil the illegal collections. After all, tax is mostly about paying as you earn. But as the work to compute the meager earnings of most is too stressful, plus the exposure of those they're secretly sponsoring, who earn so much, our ogas at the top will simply let the advice escape from the other ear. Make dem no come spoil the osusu collection.. The work plenty... And I doubt they'll ever want to do such. But money collections is the sweetest work they'll put effort to make it work. Ordinary production of their own crude, we go dey hear all the excuse wey make God vex pursue Satan comot for heaven.. Abegi, IMF goan siddon one place... |

The western world loathes to see Africa in financial freedom hence they keep on advising African leaders to inflict more pains on commoners. Where has subsidy removal taken us despite the sweet promises, can't they leave us alone to run out affairs in Africa ways |

ogododo: There should be other sources of revenue for the country except subsidy removal and tax increase. Look inwards, agricultural productions. , solid mineral exploitation, tourism, and so on. These will add to GDP and increase revenue. Economy is not only selling oil and sharing the sell and increasing taxes except the leaders are bereft of knowledge which is what Nigeria has been suffering because of incompetent leadership. |

Philippines : where most of the population turned to garbage scrap collection; till Duterte started a home grown policy. During the last dictator's reign, drug traffickers grew till Duterte came to stamp them out Vietnam:- that was bombed into oblivion? Indonesi:- siluffered the effects of sponsored terrorism, a consequence of USA policies of the 70s and 80s , and internal wars Just tell me, you brood of snakes and scorpions. JuanDeDios:So what happens now , you open the border for Nigeria to be a dumping ground, I understand the Bandits are not giving us peace with respect to Rice production, is it the same with Cement or Palm Oil ... If Cement price is high , it is because of Federal Government Tax and unstable currency ... Yes allow Rice to come in temporary for people to Enjoy Christmas, but you are self sufficient in Cement Production ..Most companies are barely surviving the devaluation problem, subsidy removal and now you want to burden them with high tax .. Do you understand the ripple effect of this crude decisions...Just this week I was telling my friend how poultry in the rural areas are just empty and the need to write proposal to get them back to production...now you are allowing poultry to even come in ....so which kind of proposal person wan come write because local production can't even compete with poultry coming from France. |

More than 90% of Nigerians don't pay any direct tax at all. FG should widen the tax bracket, artisans and majority of self employed people don't pay personal income taxes. The rich should also pay certain percentage to government in form of taxes when buying or selling landed properties. |

When experts talk the ordinary people should listen. Our revenue to GDP ratio is very low. Our income tax to GDP ratio is very low. Why have we been having budget deficits. The answer is funding gap. The gap can only be filled with either loan, ways and means or taxation. We don't want further loan and ways and means therefore more taxes and alternative sources of revenue must be found. The lowest fruit is tax. A lot of people in the informal sector don't pay direct tax. A lot of rich Nigerians don't pay their true tax. How many Nigerians pay capital gains tax and capital transfer tax for all the properties that we sell? The era of petrodollar has gone that's why subsidy has to be removed. Our naira has been artificially overvalued because of petrodollar. Our productivity doesn't match our lifestyle. Recently the UK was looking for how to find money for some social needs. They decided to find it through increasing charges on immigrants. That's how governments are ran. Government must find money somewhere to fund provision of social needs. What we should be asking for should be reduction in cost of governance, corruption and optimal usage of resources. None of these will take the place of the above. Tough and unpopular decisions are required to win back our economy. People are busy wasting time on ordinary paper called certificate. I don't envy president BAT. 1 Like |

They wish to take over Africa fully. But they need majority of Africans dead from famine ,war and disease. It's a gradually unfolding agenda . And their collaborators are the house negroe. |

It's not their fault. Blame the evil and wicked souls who call themselves politicians and leaders of Nigeria. Do Nigeria really need to borrow money from anywhere if we have leaders ready to THINK AND DO GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY instead of themselves and families/cronies alone? |
