In my area there was a man with disabled son, he attended almost all the crusades. He wanted his son to heal and walk.
He explained what they faced at crusades grounds.
They don't allow unknown faces to go to the pastor/bishops during healing time. The crusaders have their own arranged people to parade to the audience.

Fake miracle.

How I Lost My Brand New Shoes At A Gospel Crusade Ground

It was the first time I attended a Reinhard Bonnke Gospel Crusade as a kid sometime in the early 90's.

My mum had just returned from the first night of the crusade, and spoke about how Reinhard Bonnke had taken 40 naira from inside his Bible (At the time 40 naira was about 5 dollars so still a big deal for many) and given to a small local boy from crowd.

That was all the motivation I needed to attend the next one taking place the next day, that's if I ever needed one.

My mind was just like, "that kid could have been me", so I followed my mum to the crusade ground the following day.

On getting to the crusade ground in the evening, i could see the mammoth crowd already gathered in the stands of the stadium which was really staggering and quite a frightening sight to behold. I had never seen such huge crowd gathering closehand in my short lifetime beforehand and this took place somewhere in the north.

We made our way towards the area closer to the podium. There were no seats there so we had to stand, but being able to successfully navigate my way to the front of the standing crowd was something that excited me.

Perhaps it was an attempt to get as close to the podium as possible, just in case what happened the previous day (when the little boy was called out and given that amount of cash) repeated itself, however i didn't know I was going to get much more than what i bargained.

After getting to the front of those standing, for some reason, perhaps to be more comfortable, I thought it wise to remove the brand new shoes my mum bought for me from my legs and use it as a seat instead, on the floor.

It made sense until there was a sudden rush from the crowd behind which now pushed those of us sitting on the floor forward and displaced us from our original position.

That's how I found myself in an advanced position but without my shoes.

At this point being in front of the crowd became the last thing on my mind, as I abandon my position there in search of my precious shoes. I tried to trace it back to where I was originally sat, and searched and searched and searched but all my effort was to no avail.

That's how I lost arguably my most priced possession at the time, somewhere in the crusade ground as I couldn't find it before I left.

I came to the crusade ground with shoes but left there shoeless, even without the shoes I came there with.

Moreover I never got the invitation to the podium nor any 40 Naira as the other lucky kid the last night, which was the main motivation behind my attending the crusade that night.

It was indeed a very painful experience at the time to me, as though I should have never gone there in the first place, however overtime, it seemed a blessing in disguise as i have gained much more than what I had lost in the Reinhard Bonnke Gospel Crusade ground, because today I am not just saved, but also preaching the Gospel of Christ to millions around the world, with a similar passion for lost souls.

I believe such an experience in my childhood where I attended his crusade, sowed a seed in my life that also significantly contributed its fair share to the harvest of what God is using me to do today, bringing many souls into His Kingdom to His own glory.

Perhaps I had to lose something very precious to me of this world which is temporal, to gain that of much more value (eternity) which I could never lose.

God bless.
Your loss was an answer to someone prayers .

Hence I would urge parents, even if they're not as passionate for God as they would have loved, to bring their children around those who have that passion and fire which they lacked, because the life of my parents weren't much of a direct influence to me but indirectly, through those they brought me and my siblings around, and the places they took us to, as that crusade.

That background they gave me is something I will be eternally grateful to my parents, because i believed that background really helped and contributed significantly to who I am today in Christ.

So please parents, endeavour to take your children to places where there is a fire for God, and where revival is taking place. Bring them around people who are burning hot with passion for God, and you never know.

They could catch the fire to become the next Reinhard Bonnke, Kathryn Kulman, Smith Wiggleworth, Benson Idahosa, Billy Graham, Ayo Babalola etc.

God bless.
Stampede matter.

Lol. I think I can relate to this Reinhard Bonnke crusade. but I didn't lose my shoe, in lieu it was my nephew that got lost amongst the sea of head all present at the one held at Ibadan back then. I think it was around that 90s or a bit more.

Where and how should we begin to search for a boy of barely 6years old who didn't know how to locate home on his own was our taught. We had to separate ourselves on our only chance to find the boy. My mum traced him back home while I stayed behind. I was about just about a kid too then, but not less than 12. After series of fort and back, we were able to find him along one of the roads that led to our house, but quite late at night. Ever since that time, my dad had always being against such late night crusade.

Op I will tell you straight away that a huge lot in that crowd were there for ulterior motives, that's why many people lose their shoes, phones, handbags and other valuables. If you are not invited as an artiste to feign to have been healed of something, you're better off avoiding a place like that.

In as much as this story sounds funny, there is lesson to be learnt from it. Many go to church not because they want to see Jesus, but because of they want to get from him, which are mostly mundane things. In search of miracles, many have lost more than what brought them to the church in first place. Don't look for miracles, instead look unto Jesus, if not you would fall into the hands fake prophets, who would make you lose more than what brought you to them.

grin grin Not everyone who comes to a church crusade and other worship services, come to worship God.Some come to steal phones, wallets, handbags, shoes, wristwatches and earrings. Some even come to church programmes to have sex behind a hidden corner, because of no chance at home. Some come to look for children to kidnap for ritual purposes or for ransom. Some come to make a try at seducing the man of God.
There's no want of assorted personalities one won't find at a crusade ground.

I lost my own new pair of shoes at the crusade of a Pentecostal church in Bariga decades ago.

The facti is: Many criminals and miscreants answer the call for repentance, but they cannot repent overnight. So, they can still rob and steal from others at the crusade.
Forgive them.

Lol! Op you reminded me of my similar experience during his visit to Lagos in the year 2000.

My mum had just bought fancy slippers for me which was my favorite, which I wore and followed my neighbors and some street members(adults and fellow kids like me) to the second day of the crusade.

We got there together as a group but along the line, I and two other kids were just on our own. The crowd was something else, guess that separated us all.

After the crusade, I found I was alone and headed home and that was when I experienced the first stampede of my life without knowing that was what it was.

While running I entered a canal or maybe something similar, I found myself gradually sinking as I struggled to run and in the process lost my favorite slippers which weren't up to a week.

God bless the man wherever he is who pulled me out, and carried me on his shoulder while " who owns this child". He carried me till he got to my bus stop and dropped me( my place was trekkable to the crusade ground).

After that experience, I never went for similar stuff again. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened to me if that man hadn't pulled me out.

2017, saw the advert for his coming to Nigeria and remembered my experience as a child.Thee mention or hearing of his name instantly brings back that bad experience.

May his soul continue to rest in peace. Amen
