Burob: On the contrary, you are the one who needs to study the democracy practiced abroad (Proper and true Democracy) and how it clearly differs from the quasi-democracy you practice here. Let me start you off with the basics... Do you know the difference between Centralized and Decentralized governments??! Have you ever heard of true federalism and resource control? Does the concept and practice of State Policing exist??! |

Burob: Bro the reason the companies shut down is clearly stated in the article which is RISING COST OF OPERATION! Firstly, decisions bordering FX is taken by who? CBN approved by the federal Government not state or local governments. Decisions bordering Pump price for DPK, PMS etc is taken by NNPC as approved by who? Federal Government. Decisions on Tax is taken by FIRS as approved by Federal Government. High import duty/Levy costs is decided by Nigerian Customs approved by the Federal Government. Just to mention this few which I believed has direct impact on running and production cost of these companies So tell me how is the cause of their shut down not from the direct effects of bad policies from the federal government? 2 Likes |

The one that is aching me is that a well known company, the first indigenous ship building, repairs and offshore fabrication company in Nigeria is gradually winding down operations as paying salaries is becoming a problem for a once vibrant company. Who would have thought Nigeria would have caught up with a large multinational company like that. I did my IT there years ago and I shudder at what is currently happening there. We are in serious trouble in this country but the government is not telling us the truth. They are only interested in feeding off what is left of the country to themselves. Many companies are not smiling oooooo 1 Like |

May Nigeria not happen to you or your business. Imagine a government that gives out key positions as compensation. Nearly all buhari's ministers were former APC governors. That compensation list has continued with Tinubu. They are even thinking of creating new ministries cuz the people to compensate are more than the available positions π. What a joke of a country. 1 Like |

A foolish perspective from someone who pretends not to understand that Nigeria is a federation on paper alone. The federal controls 80% of this country and anyone talking of states is being mischievous. Didn't OBJ almost cripple Lagos state under Tinubu, the response was Tinubu turned round to feed on the people like the Vampire BAT he is and he has never stopped sucking the blood of the residents of Lagos State. No state in Nigeria can fully stand on its own without taxing and extorting the people to death. That is the bitter truth. Burob: |

Sanusi is not a poor man. He can take care of the children produced by his polygamy. It is those street beggars and laborers who have several wives and multiple children who are raising the next Boko Haram recruits. seguno2: 1 Like |

Op Evans medical is still operating as Evans baroque ltd, it's not good losing a means of livelihood but this is not peculiar to Nigeria alone.we should always balance our analysis even when we don't fancy the government but the nation we should have it on our minds still when our party take control.moreover a lot of companies are also come up |

@JuanDeDios Wait, Tower Aluminium was shut down? Ha! @me Tower aluminum has not left Nigeria. Tower and first aluminum shutdown their rolling mills because of uncontrolled importation of cheap and substandard Chinese aluminum products. Presently what they do is to import flat sheets and coat. In addition, they import cheap Asian aluminum products. They are still around. |

More to follow. No wonder the leaders love saying to the masses to always think outside the box and go into farming. Thereby deceiving the general public due to their policy summersault and not providing no enabling environment for businesses to survive. How you expect companies to survive when you ha e headless and fraudulent leaders all around? What's the current FX rate of the powerful is dollars to NGN today? Nigeria is becoming a sinking ship |

Because the Federal Government has refused to diversify key infrastructure that would enable states thrive. Ports: Decongest the Lagos port to Calabar, Akwa ibom, Warri, PH, Bayelsa. Electricity: Allow them sell electricity to whoever they like and not just saying they can now generate and distribute internally but cannot well to other states. Rail and Road: Drive the logistics there and build Federal roads Gas pipeline: Allow states to build their own infrastructure for their industrial plans. So yes, the apresident would always be blamed because there is too much power in the presidency and they refused to do these Burob: |
