No sane coach will field Omeruo ahead of bassey at CB position.

Go and watch nigeria vs argentinav2018 world cup.
Nigeria vs egypt 2021 nations cup and say omeruo is not good. He plays well for nigeria in those and many other matches.
Bassey is overrated and maybe should be a left full back.
Awaziem is even a better passer of the ball. This bassey should go back to full back.
I rest my case

Sir,I don’t rate him cuz he has not convinced for once in eagles.

Well, he is our best and highest rated defender. Our only CB playing in the big 3 league. Sometimes, we speak as if we have bunch of world class defenders at our disposal and we don’t. Bassey is competing with players consistently playing at backwater leagues like Belgium, turkey, South African and Greece league and no sane coach will drop an epoch defender for the aforementioned league players.

My guy, Omeruo isn’t world class or a potential world class. He is average at best. If Omeruo was world class, he wouldn’t be playing at turkey league at this stage in his career and I’m not trying to be insulting. Omeruo should be that experienced ‘Squad player’ that deputies for the main CB. We need world class potential in that our CB position

He is only lucky because he is foreign born and well marketed.
He is just one average player. He is even better as a full back. Will take awaziem over him all day.
Europe based players are sometimes overrated

If they leave you now, you will drop a premier league CB for players at turkey, Belgium, Greece, South Africa or Portugal league If it was easy playing at Epl, why hasn’t our CB been signed by anyone in EPL?? Let’s be speaking with sense on this platform

Lucky my nyash. The likes of omeruo, ekong, awaziem, Ajayi once had an opportunity to play at big leagues or team and they didn’t capitalize on those opportunity. I believe that, we don’t have many potential World class CB at our disposal and for such reasons, bassey is numero uno for now until someone better becomes available

Hmmm! Kanu Nwankwo is Enyimba Chairman and Finidi George is the coach…..very unacceptably and insult to Nigeria football.

Enyimba is Nigeria brand for God Sake….kudos to Remo star and sporting Lagos.

Even a Sunday league won’t do this there needs to be an explanation and a handsome fine

It depends on what the EPL CB brings to the table.

Bassey has not showed us why he should be rated than other CBs…I remember against Guinea Bissau,he was below par and Omeruo took his position in the second leg.

Super eagles is not about EPL but a national team where the best are invited irrespective of the league and your performance do the talking.

Sir,pls just tell me a Super eagles match that Bassey proved he was a class even as LB

Omeruo comes good in some matches but overall his form has dipped badly. Even the first match you mentioned he was directly responsible for Messi's goal.

Sir you are mixing things up here. Are you talking about club pedigree or national team?

Yes playing in EPL should do the talking but as at today i haven’t seen it in his game with super eagles and I will not based my judgement cus a player is playing for Fulham.

Osayi is in Turkey and with few appearances he has shown us what he can do..
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by DABIGATRAN(m): 12:25am On Oct 24, 2023
I watched Fulham's game against Spurs and in the match Bassey made a number of grave errors notably misplacement of passes one of which led to his team conceding a goal. Maybe we could make excuses for him given the fact that he played in an unfamiliar position.
Bassey has not had the greatest start in the EPL as he grapples with the rudiments of playing at centre back. He originally was a left back, very solid one until he was made to fill in at the centre at Rangers. I reckon he wasn't properly groomed into the role. He's got talent obviously and under the right coach he should blossom.

He hasn’t proven himself yet, he went from rangers to Ajax and now Fulham. Bassey is definitely better than omeruo it’s just sad that we don’t have Quality CB on our disposal considering that our best CB is bassey

My point is clearer Sir,I want to see Bassey telling us he is better than what we have in eagles.Yes from Rangers to Ajax and Fulham, good progression but I have not felt the impact in GWG.

Are you saying Ebuehi is better than Osayi just cus he is playing in Seria A.

Should Kanu sew jersey for the team? Is finidi a tailor either? Those guys just accepted to fill in those posts due to patriotism.
Kanu will not provide the football infrastructure. It's the work of the government.

Nobody has really been spectacular in GWG. I believe the Nigerian system has a way of making top quality professionals look mediocre. Some may argue that it's the same system that produced most of the players. Yes, but don't you think we could have produced more if we had a sane society?

Yes the system is not working but Osayi came and stamped his authority, also Bruno came and looked convincing but some with more than 16 caps have not really shown us what they can do,given player like Omeruo relevancy till date.

I watched Boniface from the blast of the whistle till the last minute,
I think he can be the playmaker/ support striker we are looking for.
Iwobi can be drafted to the wing since Chukwueze is under performing.
Osimhen will always perform better as a lone striker.
I think our first team and bench for Afcon should be 90% ready by now.
It's my first comment. I appreciate you all for the good work here.

I don't really understand what is wrong with some of you in here, and who are these 20 olodos that pressed the "like" button to this biased post?

How could you draw up such a formation that would have Victor Boniface in the starting eleven ahead of a player that plays in the most competitive league of the world?

Don't come to me with that "system that works and who is best suited" crap of a talk because to me what matters most is the league a player plays in. Boniface has no right being above Awoniyi in the pecking order because Boniface plays in the Bundesliga while Awoniyi plays in the EPL, so it should be Awoniyi in the starting eleven, not Boniface. 😡
