Any word about the coach...
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 1:58pm On Oct 24, 2023
Randy Waldrum will not be in charge of Super Falcons when Nigeria file out to face Ethiopia on Wednesday.

The University of Pittsburgh Panthers women’s head coach had already told the NFF that he will only be available for the second leg fixture scheduled to hold in Nigeria due to personal commitments in the United States.

His Nigerian assistants: Justin Madugu, Ann Chiejine and Auwal Makwalla who have worked closely with Waldrum in the last two years will manage the team on his absence.

Ann Chiejine is capable but I can’t say the same for Justin Madugu who have worked with different Head Coaches of the SuperFalcons and SuperFalconet… He has been around the various Women’s team for years I believe he’s Capable enough too..

Pitt is neck deep in trying to land an NCAA playoff spot - ditto that with Echegini’s Florida State.

Pitt lost to Syracuse this past Sunday so hey MUST win their next match to make the playoffs and get a chance at the sweet sixteen.

The SF Nigerian crew, after tagging along all this while with Randy, should be able to beat Ethiopia. If not, they all need to be fired for incompetence.

They had better be!
Otherwise, they all will be nothing short of useless, considering all the talent and personnel they have at their disposal.

Hopefully we should, Ethiopia can’t really pose any threat Home and Away…

I hope they get things right against Cameroon/Uganda our possible next opponent

No experience at all in our backline and our midfield is lean without a proven DM. Defensively we are suspect and we have just one day to train.

I really do hope this doesn't come back to bite us.
Any insights into why Plumptre wasn't invited?

It was the most plausible explanation so not surprised. I think it also speaks well of Ash to do this. Many persons have been asking why she isn't a part of the squad and there's been a lot of speculation on the public space. This puts it to rest.

... Trying to wear us down in that east African sun, knowing fully well most of our team play overseas. I hope the coaches see this for a possible tactical play from the Ethiopians, we should ldt the ball do more of the running to conserve energy.

The time is confusing right now, by the Ethiopia FA it will take Place 9:30Pm over there which is 7:30pm here…
Some places it states 1:30pm….

Anyway we should get the right one tomorrow

Tomorrow, if we win than small (2-0)

Didn't realize there were conflicting times. Nigeria is 2 hours ahead of Ethiopia so it's easy to put in perspective once a time is confirmed. I realized that the NFF also didn't include time in all their releases. Google says 1:30pm, but we'll have to see early tomorrow to be sure.
