Oga, China does not produce all they use and consume, in fact their import to export ratio is 95:98 percent, if you need data I will present it for you, I never supported GEJ, I hated his goverment and criticized it, you can check my post pre 2015 here on nairaland, same way I am doing Tinubu's own, that is because I am not a political hypocrite like you....
I crîtîcîze Tinubu as well, I voted Buhari and I crîtîcîzed him, so ur assumption that I am a political hypocrite is funny.
I have voted individual that lost the election and I am still comfortable with the performance of the person that won.
I am for governance and I appreciate good governance.
Back to the topic, China is a highly advanced country, how did they get there?
Maybe u should look at the history of China, production is what brought them here and that's my focus not their import or export data, they were as wack as Nigèria is today many many years ago, they actively engaged in production, in agriculture, technology etc etc, today they have risen to their former glory so why discourage production in Nigeria?

You are very stewpid , was Nigeria a producing nation when obj, Gej n yaradua were president? Instead of you to call your useless president a dumb head you’re here lying just to defend an old , dumb, illiterate criminal
Nigeria was not a producing nation when OBJ, Yar'adua and GEJ were presidents, the effects of those wasted years are still felt in the society today.
The infrastructural development they neglected is still a deficit Nigèria is battling with today, the infrastructural development countries like Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and South Africa enjoyed those years they wasted here in Nigeria is the key difference between those countries and Nigeria today.
Multi dimensional poverty faced in Nigeria is also part of the effects of those years the people u mentioned wasted.
Same way if we don't produce today, in another 20 years the effects will be there.
Everything is not politics, learn to live.

You didn't consider insecurity.
Fulani bandits are killing Benue farmers and other places.
In same Benue, people are still farming aggressively.
Security is part of empowerment that's why I said Government at all levels should be involved.

Within a span of two to four years dollar rose like prick that saw a naked woman under buhari and never dropped until now and you think it's all because we don't produce? Under Jonathan what did we produce that kept dollars hovering around 150 to 200 for over four years
What we produced that kept it in check was our foreign reserve.

Our issues is not with dollar, that's where most of u Nigerians have misplaced priorities.
Our major problem is with production.
If u happen to be in places like Benue during harvest season, u will hear that a paint rubber of groundnut sells for as low as #400 or #500.
In other times, it sells for double that price.
This is just an illustration to show us that things will become cheaper when we have it in abundance.
Prices of goods and services will reduce only when we have them in abundance, how do we get them in abundance, by investing in production, what we should be agitating for is support from all quarters, from FG, various State Governments, wealthy individuals to invest into the society by empowering young Nigerians with the finance to go into production.
The energy we use in posting, reposting and talking about dollar, if Nîgeriàns channel that energy into this, we won't be talking about dollars on the long run and things will be easier then.
cool

I ask you again , is Ghana a producing nation? What does South Africa produce? What does Kuwait , Bahrain, uae ,Saudi etc produce? How did Nigeria become the no 1 economy in Africa during the Gej era, in spite of the fact that we were not a producing nation?
For your info the only active producing nations in the world today are china, India and the Asian tigers..
Even the no 1 economy in the world today is no longer an active producer. In any case the buhari regime placed a ban on importation of several goods into the country but rather than help the economy it destroyed the economy, even though Nigerian producers were created.
Truth of the matter is, the Apc have been very poor in managing the economy n most of the reasons we are behind economically are self made n ill thought out policies by the Apc government, not a lack of production nor infrastructural deficits..
The Apc government’s poor economic policies is solely responsible for our current economic woes

If govt get dollars to defend naira.
If they drastically reduce Taxes. and

If Nigeria starts refining crude oil.

Though, we still have others factors but these are extremely needed to tackle it immediately

All above mentioned contributed to cost of production. if these achievable, inflation would natural come down.

The above mentioned is easier to say than thou ooo.

We need at least $100B DOLLARS immediately to start with.

They say subsidy is gone.
Your first point? Explain pls
Re: Is There Any Chance That Prices Of Goods And Services Will Come Down? by JaskanFactor: 10:35am On Oct 28, 2023
NO, i dont think prices are coming down until the oyinbo that run Nigeria from Europe decide enough Nigerians have died of poverty and population reduced to whatever they like.

The price of goods is not decided by the economy, its decided by the rulers of the world, and inflation and taxes are a means of population control .

Did you know that food is cheaper in Europe than Africa, i was shocked when an elderly man explained this to me.

The prices of anything is not coming down while oyinbo people run Africa.
Your country is never going to improve while you are on the planet of those who treat your race like an enemy, whom also run your country through puppets.

Thats why Bill Gates and Tony Blair fly into Abuja to give their puppets instructions on how many Nigerians must die.

This is why one of the biggest miracles in the world is two african people fighting , you're surrounded by so many enemy races that its shocking that africans will feel safe enough to fight each other.

And those who treat thier own kind like enemy , will always be slaves to othe races.

Africans are paying the price for hating each other so much, lie a race of selfish bastards who dont know that being your brothers keeper is a means of self preservation. Even in europe your often get better treatment from racists than you do fellow africans.

Charity begins at home, if not everybody will suffer together.

When your enemy runs your country, you get a place called Nigeria.

Nigeria is still the number one economy in Africa,
the problems is how well our society has developed, the problems Nigeria faced during OBJ, GEJ, and Yar'adua are still prevalent today, the fact that Nigerians chose to magnify today doesn't mean it started today, those of us who knows Nigèria well knows very well that those problems are still prevalent, those countries u diligently mentioned above, do they important things as common as toothpick, tomatoes, clothes, shoes, needles glasses etc etc?
U asked how much is South Africa producing?
We use MTN and DSTV from South Africa, what Nigerian goods and services do South Africans use today?
That should answer ur question.
Ghaña is not a country we should use as comparison that's retrogression of the highest order.

Niger issue is not supposed to be Nigeria's problem, so both you and Tinubu should not have disturbed yourselves about that, Niger is a sovereign country, Nigeria has so many issues to deal with that Tinubu has not even addressed or has addressed wrongly and you are yet to criticize him on such matters affecting the citizens of Nigeria, Niger is not Nigeria's problem...

About the dollar issue, go back and read your first comment, you said dollar is not the problem, and you said Nigerians should start producing more and if we produce more we will not need the dollars, well let me you we will still need the dollars.

Indirectly You are blaming the citizens for needing the dollars by telling them to produce what they want to use, my question is what has the present government even put in place to support local manufacturers, you have not talked about high cost of production.

No customer likes to buy an expensive good, if the imported one is still cheaper than locally produced then the aim for producing locally has been largely defeated....

You are just telling the citizens to produce without holding the government for their failure.

Lastly it is the government's responsibility to make sure that the FX market is favourable and available for its citizens, any country that the Fx market is not favourable and available to it's citizen the government of that country has failed, if a country's productiveness is solely the responsibility of the citizens then why do we have a government ?

Tinubu's government has failed, all the indices for failure has been met by Tinubu's government, if you cannot call a spade a spade then there is no point giving advice to the citizens....

In recent times, prices of Goods and Services have been going up almost on daily basis, especially after the onset of Tinubu's administration and subsequent removal of Fuel Subsidy.

My phone I bought last July, I was shocked to discover the current price has increased by over 100k, in just a space of 3months.

Mr President has assured Nigerians that things will soon get better.
Even a notable Man of God prophesied that Naira will soon become stronger than Dollar.

Realistically and in all honesty, do you believe that prices of Goods and Services will return back to at least how it was before Tinubu's regime?
In this part of World, we cannot relate

I stopped reading at the point where u said that I said "the citizens should start producing..." U are clearly lost or u simply try to deflect the point to start a pointless argument.
Such arguments, I don't want to relate with.
I always come online to meet loads of mentions, quantity of mentions sometimes scare me from logging in because I try to summon energy to reply all deligently keeping in line with that topic, when u are giving me a baseless mention, I prefer to ignore.
I said the energy channelled into talking about dollar should be channelled into pushing the government and wealthy individuals into giving necessary assistance for production, if u understand otherwise, then we can't have a conversation.

Oga, a government that is not ready to work will not work, regardless of how much the citizens shout, was it not police brutality that brought about end SARS, till today is police brutality not still going on?

Your advice to the government and wealthy Nigerians is dead on arrival because the present government is not ready to work for the citizens, you don't need to tell a hungry child to eat when food is ready same way you don't need to tell a serious government to work when they are in power....

U can continue to play politics, u played this politics since 1999, the world don't differentiate those playing polîtics from those trying to live in Nigeria.
The energy channelled into talking about dollar this dollar that, if channelled into what I said, a visible change will occur at all levels.
I see u are trying so hard to deviate and manoeuvre this into a political talk, most of u prefer politics to governance, so the moment ur choice doesn't win, u expect the other one to fail.
I talked about state governments as well, so Tinubu is governor of ur state?
The wealthy individuals in your state, Tinubu will tell them whether to support start ups or not?
An example of what I am saying is what Soludo did in Anambra over the weekend, did Tinubu determine that for him?
Time for politics is gone for the masses, for the masses, now is time for governance.
If u are still interested in politics wait till 2026, we will start again.

I wish you gave this type of advice when Jonathan was in power, since you did not but chose to chase him out then blaming others for blaming the govent like you did during Jonathan's time, your hypocrisy stinks....

So the fault is no longer the president like you people accused Jonathan, mind you I never supported Jonathan, but if you chose to blame Jonathan for the same problems when the situation was far better than now and then not blame Tinubu when the problem is now worse due to Tinubu's decision, then you should hide tour head in shame....

You people like shifting goal post to always fit your lies, so it no longer the responsibility of the president to improve the situation of the country, wow, how convenient....

I see that you are so fixated on polîtics rather than what we discussing in this context.
Nigerians are so focused on talking about dollars, same energy used in talking about dollars should be channelled into putting FG, state governments as well as private individuals under pressure to invest in start ups.
I see u are so fixated on politics, how was the situation better under GEJ?
Under GEJ most states in Nigeria couldn't afford to pay salaries, I guess u are not aware, during GEJ's tenure, people opened shops to sell cassava stems, that was how bad the country was.
Today, any state owing salaries simply refused to pay, but under GEJ they couldn't just pay yet oil was selling very well in the international market.
I can give u all the stats to play the politics, the era for playing the political card is gone, we wait for a new season come 2026, so if u want to play this card, meet up in 2026, for now, I am more interested in what will benefit the people, same thing I did under GEJ till it was time for politics.
Know when to play the politics, this is how u folks keep Iosiñg and ending up in pàins because u don't know how and when to play ur cards because u are always emotional about everything.

So in essence what you are trying to say is that Nigerians need to force Tinubu's government to solve the problem, do we need to tell them what to do before they do it, then why were they elected if Nigeriana will still have to force them to work, look at the energy that was uses during end SARS against police brutality and still police brutality still happens, like I said earlier a government that will work will work, a government that will not work will not work it you like channel all your energy into shouting at them to work.

And for your analysis that Nigeria is better now than in GEJ's time, you guys are something else, 87 naira for fuel against 600 naira, bag of rice was 8k now about 60k are you guys OK at all, salary owing has always been there from state governore or you are trying to say that no governor is owning salary in the Regime?

Please bring the stats to prove that Nigeria is better now than it was during GEJ's time and I will bring mine, sometimes I wonder why I share country with people like you, you guys are one the reasons the country keeps getting worse, please I'm waiting o, bring your stats let me bring mine....
