There's a global price index that Nigeria is not immune of since we are largely a consuming nation, we import almost everything including cars and their parts. When your income is not flowing with global price of goods and services, you will find it hard to keep your head above water. That's why we must always check how much we earn and it's worth in dollars (as the global economy is powered by dollars). Almost everything you buy into your household is measured in dollars. Therefore, we cannot afford to discard that dollar comparison as it relates to our income.. Earning less than 10dollars a day in this country is living below poverty level. Anyone in that sphere must strive to come out of it.

Very correct.. The problem is a lot of lagos mechanics are quacks,they don't know jack and give overpriced quotes.

In 2018,I ringed my Nissan then. In Abuja, the mech charged me 25k ( materials and workmanship inclusive,) infact an indigene , where i stay was protesting that the bill was outrageous, that he was going to take me to Dei Dei and i will pay 15k , i just told him he shouldn't bother because I felt 25k was quite fair

, my colleague in lagos at that time too wanted to do the same thing, and the mech in Lagos was asking for 100k. as at 2018.. too overpriced .

The guy in Jabi forest did a perfect job.. the car almost came back to its tokunbo state..
I miss those guys..

N.B. The car didn't knock. But the oil was going down almost every 4 days.. and it was not smoking too. I was told the piston rings needed to be replaced.

Infact, he has resulted to using adex 20w-50 oil for same car since he can't afford total anymore and the car is still serving him....


Ringing isn't always bad, if done properly with original rings, it will last another few years...
