You are fortunate to work with an MDA who draws account from the treasury or an MDA who generate its own revenue.

How many of such MDAs abound. How do non treasury funded agencies expecially those that are non revenue generating pay their staff without increase in statutory allocation to cover for it.

Except the government comes out clean on this, this method does not make sense and it will cause a lot of issues...
There is no agency that is not treasury funded and not generating revenue. Every agency of the FG are either treasury funded or being fully or partly funded by IGR. No agency exist without a clearly defined path of funding.

Vanguard and whoever wrote this nonsense have very poor understanding of the issues and they also deliberately misrepresented the circular.

To start with, there is nothing like 40% increment yet. Where vanguard got their 40% increment in unknown as there is absolutely nothing like that in the circular.

Secondly, the payment of the 35k wage award is clear and straightforward. Treasury funded staff are to be paid directly from treasury and they have paid already. Non-treasury funded staff will as usual be paid by their respective agencies from revenue generate by the MDAs. It’s simple and straightforward.

So, what’s the dashes hope about a policy that has already been fully implemented?

undecided

There's a fellow on this thread who says he got the new wage increment yesterday? - and spent it all - same day. He says he bought fuel and whatnot. undecided It should be painfully obvious by now that the average Nigerian worker can't cover his living costs today. So what happens next?

I was looking for one sensible comment and now I've found it.

Some of these MDAs are very lazy and not ready to improve but just keep receiving funds from the Federal Government for doing nothing. If this should go through, it'd make them sit-up.

Everyone have to be up doing to salvage what's left.

The President said Agencies that generate revenue should pay their staff members from their income while the FG takes care non revenue generating ministries. The workers and FG should hold revenue generating MDAs responsible.

When Tinubu made those promises was because his electoral victory was been challenge.
Now that the supreme court has upheld his illegitimate victory he is now showing his true cœlour.
A president who will spend 1.5b Naira for the office of the first lady who is not recognised by the law,57billion Naira for the purchase of 409 SUVs for both the senate and reps,5b for the purchase of a yatcht cannot say there is a cash crunch.
Tinubu is only a philanthropist during election periods.
It is Tinubu s hatred against labour that made him to say "They will labour in vain"
Very correct it's really very laughable that same tinibu family that claimed that they are so rich and don't need nigeria's money are the same family that's now buying cars and yacht of billions of naira for their own personal use.

We will wail,nd wail nd wail but the presidency won't lift an eyelid, why? Cox we the youths are happy with the way this country is run hence our refusal to hit the streets in protest.

The difference between Nigeria and other working countries is that in working countries, the citizens protest heavily when the government policies does not favour the masses but here in Nigeria,we only come to Nairaland and make noise then continue with our normal lives.

The situation in Nigeria is not of concern to many ppl

When you don’t understand what is being discussed, you stay clear of commenting instead of displaying your ignorance. Start by learning the difference between treasury funded agencies, non-treasury funded agencies and partly-treasury funded agencies. When you understand the above, you won’t be making senseless comments all over the thread.

They are right in judging the govt. The right up says that govt could not pay non-treasury MDAs. Im sure you belong to the teeasury funded (IPPIS), that is why you were paid.

This story is just so shocking as it is entirely false. Unfortunately, those commenting don’t even know what they commenting about. I used my own to buy petrol yesterday and someone somewhere wrote a silky report that FG has dashed the hope of workers by not paying. Money wey we don collect clean mouth.

The circular was very explicit as to how each category of workers are to be paid. Non-treasury funded MDAS pay their workers directly. So, it’s only common sense that they should be allowed to pay the 35k themselves. These are agencies that are very rich and self funding. Why should FG be paying staff of CAC, ITF, NCC, BOI, NSPM, FHA etc 35k monthly from CRF when these agencies can easily pay the award?

Hmmmmmmm.

They cannot pay salaries yet there’s money to buy exotic cars for the legislators.

People are suffering because of removal of subsidy yet the government cannot save money…
it's like what we have been saying that no amount of money is too huge for these political crooks to embezzle, therefore removing fuel subsidy will neither benefit Nigeria as a nation, nor the masses but will only make more funds available for these political crooks to loot and live luxurious lifestyles.
there will never be any fund for whatever policy that will benefit the suffering masses.
