igwebuike01: You are getting too ahead of yourselves because of statistics that might just be propaganda. It doesn't really put you ahead of the west at anywhere. As of now south west is still better economically than any region in Nigeria, in fact those percentages are nothing more than just mere numbers that are probably inaccurate, it doesn't put you ahead of the west when it come to getting top corporates or ICT jobs in Nigeria. It is a popular fact that South west dominate ICT in Nigeria and check the CEO of popular Companies and Industries, males and females either finance or manufacturing you will always see Yoruba dominating. Even top tertiary institutions in Nigeria are in the West and it has been like that for decades until you can truncate Yoruba in those aspects you are just deluding yourselves with those figures. |

Anambra1stSon2: Having a few ruffians doesn't mean all Yoruba are like that even USA have a lot of Americans that are ruffians and uneducated, it doesn't stop them from dominating the world economically and technologically. Igbo leading in your delusional mind Yoruba Agbero doesn't stop south west from dominating ICT in Nigeria and being the face of ICT. Nigerian women CEO of Banks and companies, you will see Yoruba dominating , what about Nigerian men CEO of banks and companies ? Yoruba. As long as Yoruba keep getting top corporate jobs and dominate key sectors like ICT and fintechs and remain the powerhouse economically , you are deluding yourselves with those percentages. Top institutions in Nigeria have been in the south west for decades and it will remain like that for the forseeable future. Did you see the recent list of estate owners in Lagos ? Yoruba dominate from top to bottom all your people does is make noise. |

That was 2018 and since then south west have been dominating key sectors in Nigeria and being the power house of Nigeria economically that's what matter. America have a very high drug use rate but it doesn't stop them from dominating the world economically and technologically. Keep parading those useless percentages and don't go after what matters. A key sector like ICT and Fintech that have to do with the economy and financial potential and future civilization is in the hands of Yoruba and many Igbo don't see any problems in that, you will realize in the next 10 years Tertiary Institutions in Yoruba land dominate top 10 institutions in Nigeria and you don't see any problems in that whenever the list come out every year, you will know in the next 10 years. |

Anambra1stSon2: Doing badly where lol ? Reality says otherwise, ok for research just quickly go on the internet and search for anything in ICT and Fintech. Don't underrate those sectors every sensible country invests heavily in them because they are the potential of any country to boost economy and investment, it contributed heavily to how America have the top economy in the world today and Yoruba dominate that sector, what flutter wave and paystack generated for Nigeria last year quadruple what entire south east generated. Do you think it is possible for Yoruba to thrive in that with weak education ? Even every day many Yoruba continue to be CEO of top companies and keep getting top jobs more than northerners with more population and on top of that most of the leading tertiary institutions in Nigeria are in Yoruba land who do you think make most of the population of students in those institutions ? You can keep parading useless percentages reality says otherwise. Yoruba need improvement but it's not as bad as you portray or worse than other region. 1 Like 1 Share |

Creamcrest: I avoid threads like this but your comment is false, maybe true for the generation after the Biafra war but not this present generation. I'm a high school graduate and I can write, read, and can even beat most Nigerian college students (if I'm given the opportunity). I left that shitty Nwaboi apprenticeship and will still go back to college one day because of comments like this. And by the way, being literate in English language doesn't make you more intelligent than others. We need to do away with such mentality, this is why we will always look up to Europe! 1 Like |

PureFace1:Top tertiary institutions doesn't mean you are doing better in education. Data from NYSC shows SE states topping by wide margin in terms of number of graduates by states of origin. With increase in school fees the yoruba average family will drop out as there is more Awolowo free education, but the igbo "2x2" shop owner will send his children to SW universities. Also note that nowadays, average Igbo trader is well educated but prefer trading to cooperate jobs |
