Democracy is flawed because everyone's vote carries the same weight. No matter how you see it, an impoverished uneducated man who has no exposure is a big liability to everything an election represents. Why are you voting when you don't know what is going on in the first place.

A YouTuber did a survey in one northern state. One of the people he interviewed said he has never heard of Obi or Tinubu and even Kwankwaso. He said he will vote Atiku because he heard he had visited there side in the past. Funny enough, this type of person makes up 60% of voters in Nigeria.

Illiterates deciding for those with adequate information about an activity defeats the purpose of the outcome of that activity.
that is what you have missed

democracy is the rule of the masses

the poor uneducated people you are referring to - it is unlikely that any one who wins will change their lives or uplift them - even if they wanted to [ resources are limited] so while YOU are voting for what you believe will improve YOUR life - they are doing the same - 2k will improve their life, if only for one day. versus nothing at all.

it is unlikely that any of the candidates running will be able to improve the lives of the poor electorate, even if they wanted to

this is from season 3 or 4 of the wire, after carcetti became mayor and found the city was dirt broke. in the end those above him told him - you cannot do a damn thing. sit this out don't raise dust and you could be going for governor in 4 years

On what ground? It is within the registered voters range and also the accredited range if I'm not mistaken.

So, what ground will he lay his case on?
oh. i thought they overcooked.

if number of accredited voters [not registered voter ] matches number of votes cast then its case closed

It is, actually the problem for now is, there are discrepancies in the numbers of accredited voters on irev with the real-time own. But I believe with time, it will synchronize and match it.

In case it doesn't match and the realtime matches the votes, then it's never a problem according to Supreme Court. Adeleke/Ayetola.

What's the guarantee that the person you're rooting for will transform Nigeria? Nigeria is irredeemable, take Abia as a case study, what special thing has otti done as governor that other persons didn't do? The way I see it, Nigerians don't care about governance or policies, they just want their preferred candidate to win and if he doesn't win they cry and advocate for a revolution.

In Nigeria, smart men(politicians) are using the failed state to build generational wealth, even if the elections are free and fair, nothing will change, the country is almost beyond repair

Is it poverty or simply greediness that make people sell their vote? Why trade 4 years over few notes that only serves as a very low temporal relief?

Maybe I have trust issues but I don't believe someone willing to buy my votes and that of thousands of others have good intention for our state. In fact, it will be hypocritical of me to expect anything positive from him after he has paid me for my vote.
The issue of vote selling is simple to the enlightened person on a superficial level but if you dig deeper you'd see there's a complication for the average voter.

Most Nigerians don't see any difference amongst candidates and have lost faith in our politicians which makes them not to trust anyone let alone what they say. In this situation the voters would chose to sell their votes and be doomed OR vote any of the candidates and be doomed too. Most would chose the former

Its the beauty and ugliness of Democracy. People will vote people based on whatever reason. It can be because he supports abortion, he is from the same faith, he hates the people I hate.

If education is your own criteria, someone can come up with another criteria that wont favor you. In the North, they can say only Moslems should vote while in SS say only Christians, In SE say only Catholics and in SW say only Isese

Some can say short people cannot vote, fat people cannot, someone from a different race should not vote, sick people should not, someone of a different ethnic group should not, poor people should not, women should not vote

No matter how ridiculous you think the above are, there will be people who think so

in hindsight dino was just coasting on the machinery of the party carrying him

his biggest mistake was aligning publicly with Saraki and then simultaneously threatening to rape oluremi Tinubu and bonga fish shaming her. and then the social media stunting of going to pose on bourdillon

his agbero behavior pissed so many people off. the you are again stunting on SM with your fake ferrais and watches but you cant elevate the paupers from your former constituency

the guy is done. let him enter nollywood
How do you know the Ferraris are fake?

it has been discussed on other threads by gearheads. the cars are replicas

but it is one of those things that should also be clear from ferraris policies

even at the best of times, where will dino get the money to buy a supercar, and then keep it in lokoja?

I think with 80-100k $ he can get a Ferrari. Man has been in top level politics for over 15 years, are you saying he hasn't looted enough to be able to buy a $1m car if he wants? When some wack artists buy same Ferrari after releasing five songs? Then again he was senator for how many years? You underestimate the kinda money senators make/loot.

because nigeria is a third world country, people regularly represent fake or imitation items as the real deal. i am sure you also know of all those 'upgraded' lexus suvs where they slap a modified body of a 2019 Lexus on the frame of a 2014 lexus

also, you should take any boastful pronunciations on social media with a handful of salt .

read up on mtv cribs - it turns out 90% of the time - the house the star was posing in was not his own. the car being posed in is leased by the company. all this is an image the record company wants to sell.

this is an article from 2016 on another of dinos so called vintage cars

Dino could have bought those vehicles ; they may not be knock-off but 1st grade tokunbo .

Dino while in the house of reps and senate date on some house committees . There’s money in some of those committees o; MD of companies literally settle these guys to not have to appear in front of those committees to save their organizations reputational damage( I know this for a fact ).

Those guys dey see real money , na Dino just decide to be so much invested in showing off . Where I stay , a senator who has a house in one of the estates closeby took it upon himself to fix the whole internal roads in the area . It was nothing to him .

That's why I said look up Ferraris policies for owners of their vehicles.

Ownership of Ferraris is an elite club with waiting list and lots of rules. Because they don't want their brand diluted.

One of the rules is you can't sell your Ferrari
Another - you can't have a Ferrari and a lambo. Dino claimed to have both.

Dino can pull these mind tricks because na naija matter. How many people can tell you the exact features of a Ferrari?

Go outside of Lagos or Abuja with those upgraded lexus and people will think it's the real deal.

So u think and believe Africans who have the means don’t own lambo and Ferrari ?

If people don’t sell their Ferraris how do the tokunbos find their way to Nigerian market ?

Nigeria no dey show for here

The answer to your question is that those ferriaris sold in vi are grey market or worse with zero support and dodgy parts.

https://www.nairaland.com/4921516/rolls-royce-ferrari-lamborghini-abandoned-lagos

This is what happens when you buy an exotic hyper expensive car with no local support.

Everyday one reads about issues with range rovers, Benz, BMW. Now what do you think will happen with a super car?

That's why I will not believe for one minute that any of the cars being paraded is an original. Who is going to service it for you? Your corner mechanic who cannot be counted on not to Fk up a toyota? Or Your expensive workshop which is ultimately just the same corner mechanic with packaging?

Well what do I know sha - Nigerians are not known for thinking these things through so maybe they can shell out $300k for a vehicle that has no locally available spares.
