Same issue happened to one of my relatives, and I helped him to sort it out by chatting with VFS customer service. His passport was in Lagos, but the tracker showing ready for pick up in Abuja.

If your submission center is at VFS Lagos, then you don't need to stress yourself because your passport will be couriered from Abuja to VFS Lagos.

Also, since you know your tracking number, you can chat with the VFS customer service team in the morning, and they will tell you the actual location of your passport because the tracking information is not always accurate.

Use Vancouver airport as your port of entry, you can then fly to Nanaimo or use ferry and bus.

Booking 7 or more days is not going to be any problem once you have funds and accommodation to show for the duration of your intended stay.

If you wish to arrive in British Columbia (BC), your port of entry is Vancouver (YVR), and then you can go via domestic routes (Busline & Car ferry, or by flight).
Going by Car Ferry is the cheaper route if you plan to save cost.
Nanaimo is on Vancouver Island and you land at YVR - Richmond, Vancouver.

You can book your 7 days, and let your conference date be within it (can always tell the border officer that you intend to visit around the city for a few days as it is your first time visiting the city.

You can register for a conference yourself..use Google to search for a better conference and if you want to register let it be at least 3 to 5 days conference and make sure it's relevant to your work or your skill . Embassy won't give visa to every one going for just 1 day conference in Canada after spending approximately million in visa processing.

It’s better you upload it now. Sometimes they call you and ask you to upload it, sometimes they outrightly reject your application without calling you. You can upload more documents by clicking on the “Add” sign.

Do you include a letter from the said family doctor in canada becos having a kid in canada will not make ur applicatiom express but it will be term urgent only if u can proof the trip is for urgent medical reason backed by doctor letter.

I was rejected by Canada in 2017. I reapplied in January 2020. Covid-19 came and that application is still open till today.
USA has rejected my applications 3 times in the past.
UK also rejected me once.
So I reapplied to Canada this year.

On the CBN trade portal, there is an option to add documents. Click on "ADD" and then upload the TCC and name it as such.

Once you get your biometric letter, which can come within 24 hours or more after you submitted your application online, you can go ahead and book an appointment with VFS for biometric.

That is long overdue, try calling ircc and also raise a web form, I’m guessing your application is with the London visa office, hence the delay

You should start counting from the date after biometric which may be 3 months or more. Although 5 months is long most especially at this period.

Your passport has been with VFS/IRCC since July 18th? There is a 90% possibility that your passport has been stamped and awaiting pickup. But the incompetent VFS failed to update you.

Someone in the WhatsApp group also had same issue. He had to go pick up his stamped passport last week after waiting for almost a month with no update.

Check your IRCC dashboard if your visa details has been updated.
