Gawuna congratulated Abba Yusuf. Is that not a sign that he believes he lost fairly and squarely?
How do you know he was not a registered member of NNPP when it was publicly declared in March 2022 that he joined the party?
Your chairman is lying because as at March, primaries had not even held not to mention closed.

Supreme Court will surely rule in favor of NNPP.

But to be sincere the politicians will destroy Nigeria with their greediness and using of court to claim mandate.

Nothing like interloper, NNPP did not submit the name of Abba Yusuf to INEC, infact, no primaries took place.
Shut up you liar. His name was submitted to Inec by his party NNPP.

“And because they desperately wanted a governor in Kano State, the party gave them a ticket to contest. But they made a serious blunder because when they joined the party, INEC had closed submission of nomination forms. But they were blind and uneducated. They went into the ring without making careful observation of this.

“They did not know that we laid in wait. We took the file, submitted it to Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gwuna and told him to hold it tight. When we filed a petition at the Kano governorship election tribunal, we told the court that they were not fielded by the party. We told the court that when INEC closed accepting names of candidates, they did not join the party.”

This is very embarrassing and I believe it was not really a mistake.

It was a strategy by Dr Kwankwaso, the Presidential candidate of NNPP, to bolster his own chances in his Kano state home base.

There's no way his Presidential campaign could get traction and make the local politicians see the benefits in his campaign to them unless he dangles the prospect of Kano state governorship seat before them. It's still part of the politics. Kano state is strategic and the stakes are very high. I don't believe he made mistake, it was deliberate and the only option they had left.

In 2011, ACN fielded Mallam Ribadu as a Presidential candidate for a similar reason even when it knew the chances of winning was slim. ACN didn't want to be without a Presidential candidate so it would not be forced to give PDP and CPC the edge to corner ACN members. Check my signature for free stuffs!
But senate president is still in the senate even though he never contested primaries...lol. Nigerian court is for sale forget about strategy.

If INEC accepted the nomination regardless that nomination had closed, APC does not have any dog in the fight. After all electoral Act says that election shall not be invalidated over failure to do certain things by INEC.

Sad they didn't do their homework very well.

The failure of the NNPP is a schoolboy error which any serious politician should never make, that same argument has been seriously canvassed against Gbadebo Rhode Vivour in the Lagos State elections at the tribunal and appeal.

It's a very important "constitutional" provision which supersedes the electoral act/law 2022, which raises it beyond a pre-election matter and also eliminates the issue of infra-party affair, any citizen can challenge a contestant's eligibility with this clause.

The party membership register is to be submitted to INEC a certain number of weeks before elections failure to so so invalidates the contestant it's as thou the party never presented a candidate to INEC

We the Obidients are not sorry for Kwankwaso. He had the audacity to call us Andrew Liver salt because he thought he was more popular than Obi. How many votes did he get? Is he not losing Kano?

INEC is to blame for even putting his name on the ballot after the close of nominations

Disgraceful comment by Ganduje.

Since INEC had closed submission of forms, why did the same INEC accept the form from the man and his party?

This gives us more insight into the collusion of INEC with political parties, who try all they can to subvert democracy.
If his name appeared on the ballot, it means INEC endorsed his candidacy. The case should be INEC Vs APC

Win, win, win elections is all they know how to do.
They have doctorates in winning elections but are completely at sea when it comes to governance.
Just look at the country they took over in 2015 and where it is now.
Complete shambles.
Not a single national issue solved, not a single sector has progressed.
But that is enough for their teeming supporters.

What's LP business in Imo state with this argument? Voting for Peter Obi has nothing to do with LP, he could have been in PDP, NNPP, YPP or whatever. How is that your headache?
LP candidate in Imo state is not popular across Imo nooks and crannies nor from owerri zone, PDP candidate is from Owerri but still not generally popular even in Owerri, some didn't like him. With the absence of Ihedioha, Rocha's and similar people on the ballot, Uzodinma didn't really have opposition because nobody cared. But they still went extra miles with thuggery, vote buying, writing of ridiculous results. 🤦🏼‍♂️smh

There's a reason you called it obidients movement not LP movement, nobody is going to be blindly voting for anyhow person that comes under LP. That's exactly the cancer that corrupted PDP and APC.

You go mind ganduje with peddling a paradox. How can inec grant somebody a platform to contest without him submitting documents of the party?

Secondly in Tinubu's case with PDP when the double nomination of his voice was in play, they said it was an internal matter, that PDP was doing busy body, also APC against labour party when they said obi was not qualified, tribunal told APC that that's internal matter they were doing busy body, that except that case is filed by a contestant of that party it's not valid in court to be filed by another party.

What baffles me is how these rules changed overnight in Kano? It doesn't make sense.
