joelsteron:Have yours ever assisted anyone before? Not even holding brief for him but it's disingenuous to blame him for Eguavon's error. The best an assistant can do is make recommendations. The coach can decide to take it or otherwise. He has no say on invitation, team selection, game strategy, in-game adjustments. The only blame I apportion to him is taking the job in the first place. |

If the NFF should hire any local coach, they should go for Sunday oliseh. Emmanuel Amunike has not done enough to be Super Eagle coach. |

Oliseh cannot work under this NFF. Oliseh is very principled. TheGoodJoe: |

If he returns heads will roll in the team, but the SE will be better of in the LONG run. The NFF will have to be sincere and be selfless for him to return. For me, I would prefer Oliseh as the NFF technical director Toylove: |

forgiveness:You're taking this parking the bus too far. These guys had more goal scoring opportunities than us. If they had settled down in the final third, they would have won the game. |

komekn:I don't know if your taste buds is only "bitter" dominated but it seems so because you love bitter leaf so much. We have the best striker depth on the continent and arguably in the world yet we cannot score enough or beat minnows and you expect me to stick to a poor and imbalanced midfield just because they play in the EPL or top 5 leagues? Ofcos not. Especially not when I have identified solutions to our midfield conundrum. I know the perfect list of midfielders this team needs to be inviting every international window to bring out the best in our wingers and CFs. Messi is now worth less than 50million euros according to Transfermrkt. Does that mean he is worse than Mbappe or Haaland who are soaring at 180million euros on Transfermrkt value? Komekn, player value is not a function of a player's talent or ability. It is rather a function of where the player plies his trade, his market potential based on performances where he plies his trade (always more significant when he's in a top 5 league) and his age in relation to others in his position. Even Okocha while at Bolton wasn't worth the value of many EPL lads at the time. Does it mean he was inferior in talent? Please think better and work on your bitter taste buds. They have numbed your other taste senses obviously. Ciao.

TheSuperNerd:They forgot to add: the most valuable team in the continent. I'm beginning to think that having players in the top 5 league is a disadvantage. We are all to blame. The players, the coach, the fans. Rhor started this conundrum of inviting the best. While this has resulted in good fortunes for the players, it has resulted in falling standard of play for the national team. No more competition in national colors. Once, you're doing well in your club you're guaranteed a spot in the national team. You don't need to do anything in the national team. No national team coach selects only the best but those who fits into his plan. If a national team coach keeps looking for the best in clubs, then he doesn't have a plan. The players are made and care more about their legs and clubs. The players don't care about their performance in national team. The coach ignores talents elsewhere and focus on the made ones. The fans urges them on with the slogan you must field your best. They forget about other parameters like talent, commitment and determination and focus only only on 'who do you play for'. They forgot that in 1994, we had some unknown players benching well establish club players. They forgot that it took an npfl player to get us our third afcon trophy. We are the Belgium of Africa, albeit a worse one. Belgium does beat minnows unlike us. |

JP needs to be reunited with Mourinho...sooner than later. NFF should look for foreign coaches with coaching experience on the continent....Alain Giresse, Dussuyer, Rejavac, Henri Michel etc... Still not fully sold on our Naija coaches..not necessarily cos of a lack of capacity but the egunje issues and dodgy invitations that follow. |
