For me give Finidi a short. Nobody is expecting success at the AFCON so let's give one of our own a free hit while we do our home work of choosing a suitable coach with the help of the sports ministry (this might seem controversial but the current and past NFF leadership haven't demonstrated excellent hiring skills based on the recent coaches they have hired)

Damioduso1:
Owngoal reporting just now that Jose Pasiero has agreed to take over Zamalek football club in Egypt after today match against Zimbabwe. Good development we search for a good coach now or look for a better local coach to lead the super eagles to the afcon

Always about what the player brings and not whether he earns in naira or dollars. Quality and attributes first before anything else.

Isn't that what we analyse? Or is it the money we analyse? Komekn forever deliberately misses the point.

Well said TheGoodJoe 🙌🏽💥

I don't know what you eat 😔

But I can assure you , money 💰 kill better soup 🍲

There is an intrinsic and undeniable correlation between player value and quality in football ⚽..

Folks let's set the records straight. The discussion is not Rohr vs Peseiro. It's about what our brand as a footballing nation had become. I laugh when people start waxing lyrical about gernot Rorh forgetting that he only made name with us and no other place. We didn't sign gernot Rorh just for qualification purposes. I won't even delve into him right now.

Rather, what kind of games do we play opening up our middle and expecting to not get run over. There is the front overload just because players are scoring week in week out. But question is these supposed forwards have different coaches who know that once they start fumbling, they get fired promptly in clubsides where everyone is out to take your shirt if you slip up.... is it these players that can afford to be lackadaisical?

There is no God father in your club. You either perform or get benched. Bu t as soon as our boys land Muritala like this.... na to dey cruise with Gucci bags upandan. It is not that we don't have talent or that our players are average. It is the fact that they don't see what they do as serious business. When they lose, it's not a big deal.

Now let's get to the business side of things which is the team blend. We have known the problem of this team since the days of Gernot Rorh. The perennial problem of Midfield. Our excuse is oh we always qualify therefore putting square pegs in round holes. We also forget that Mikel is no longer with us. What was the plan to replace him ever since he left? We start hearing things like top 5 leagues. If a player isn't playing there, he shouldn't come to super eagles. Or that the national team is not a rehabilitation center. Every new sensation and rave of the moment must be invited.

What becomes of the core of the team? Is there any form of stability and consolidation in terms of team chemistry? The answer is no. This team has played together for over 7years and still we are yet to see a definitive pattern of play. All we see is disjointed play and win anyhow. What has changed? It's unfortunate Eguavoen lost the opportunity to rewrite the narrative of local coaches but I'd rather have him for 6 years than have a Peseiro or Gernot Rohr for 2 years.

The signs are all there. What needs to be done is also clear. Fix the issues of directionless and pattern less plays and be business minded. Enough of sentiments. David didn't train to be a soldier before he defeated Goliath so all this noise of experience is frankly overrated. He had understanding of the business at hand. That is all we want. If you are in the national team, know why you are there. Who is the best Goalie? That's who should play. Who is the best suited for a role in the team ? That's who you should field. Thereafter we can talk of consolidation and team chemistry. Rather we just think we will parade names on match day and just believe we will always win.

same here mate. We have enough midfielders just that jpes is a stubborn goat

Playing style or not Nwakali won’t add anything magical to our already existing midfield

It will be difficult to find a top African team that can boast of the type of midfielders we hv currently

Imagine having midfielders like

Ndidi
Onyeka
Iwobi
Onyedika
Ifeanyi Mathew
Alhassan
Fisayo
Folorunsho

And someone is trying to convince me that nwakali is the missing puzzle? He should do that in his relegation threatened club in Portugal to keep them afloat for next season

A useless coach who hv tried accommodating 2-3 strikers with a lean midfield and it haven’t worked but he is still insisting on the same formation, Isn’t that total madness?

A country like England hv kane and in form Watkins but will never start both at the same time. Football of this era is won in the middle of the pitch not by deploying 6 attackers. The midfield is the engine/brain box of a team. Few teams that aren’t blessed with technical and creative midfielders play the ones they hv to their best potentials and abilities. We must not hv iniesta, xavi and zidane kinda midfielders to win the World Cup or even the afcon. Morocco made it to the semis without such midfielders, Senegal and ghana made it to the quarterfinals without such midfielders

All we need is a sound tactician who knows how well to utilize the players we have. This debate of the lack of technical and creative midfielders is becoming very boring

Agreed without question ❓ while eating a very sweet Banga Soup 🍲 with Pounded yam .

Football is not like that! There are club players and there are National team players and there are both! Nwakali is also a freekick specialist and doesn't need to shake like Iwobi before picking a pass.
Also he is press resistant unlike Iwobi!

If he is so exceptional with such a unique skill set. Then why has been consistently in retrogression since he arrived in Europe 🌍 8 years ago.

He had been consistently and continuously REJECTED.

It's only here the Dr 2 Know football ⚽ anylysts talk about him as quality.

so iwobi isn’t creative enough? Nawa to una oooo

Iwobi is one of the best dribblers we hv who can easily beat players in 1v1 situations as well as create something. It was the mumu coach that limited him in that game by playing him deeper

From our flanks they was no bite at all. Lookman looked confused while iheanacho tucked in more than staying on the right flank. Wen the game changed a bit when Simon came in and tried taking the opposition players on to create something

No matter how we insult chukwueze here he is still vital to the team. Samu is the kind of player that will take players on as well as attract free kicks in dangerous areas close to the opponent’s box. The only problem I hv with him is sometimes he tends to be selfish and wasteful

What's the point of taking players on ,doing skill and dribbling with no END PRODUCT.❓

Sometimes circumstances can be funny.

I can tell you if you're are exceptional and playing in Australia 🌏 at the other end of the world in fact the forgotten world where football ⚽ is concerned.

So the SE is so radically different from the clubs he's played for? Emphasis on CLUBS.

Football is practical. Nwakali is so unique as a footballer that the only team where that uniqueness is needed is the SE? Is this not preposterous?

Aribo got to the midfield and gave a fantastic long pass to Simon. Iwobi was there for 90 minutes couldn't play a single accurate long pass. Even to give short precise pass na wahala. He will shake multiple times before given a simple pass. You have tall strikers yet no accurate cross nor long pass from midfield and you say you no need Nwakali? Dey play!

Uzoho conceded from this distance. He had enough time to adjust himself for a dive. We really need to try other goalkeepers. Maduka made one error against Tunisia and we bin him since then. Uzoho has made more errors since he took over No 1 but our coaches just don't know when to bench him. How can you concede a free kick from here?

Abeg. Nff will use owing of salaries to demotivate him if he even wants to give his best. Same for the Amuneke option too. I'm tired. The issue is we need someone that can potentially best the best of Rohr. The rhetorical is, if we find, won't nff be the detonator of the whole thing? Sabotaging indirectly or otherwise. Their decision making alone lacks foresight.

Aside the goalkeeper, he seems to be tactically sound. Though his pattern of play might be different from our expectations but he seems to believe in it and the players are finally adapting to his style.

We know why you want Peseiro to stay. The same reason you think Tinubu is a Messiah.

Anyway, Before the FK was played I thought it was going to be floated to the box for a header.

Runner up ke? We will top the group but Paserio must go! The moment Paserio brought on Sadiq for Moffi then I affirm, he is a mad man!
The teams in our group have nothing upfront! I am not in anyway scared.

We need a coach that would call the right players and play in a way that would enable our strikers to function well.
Our next games are in June when the season would have being over. Our players would be in the right frame of mind, then!
We are playing SA next even if they win against Rwanda which they won't we will beat them in Uyo!
Make una calm down!
