Abagworo:
Since after the civil war the Ikwerres who suffered from PWTS refused to tell their children the truth that they are same as Imo State people but seeded to Rivers for political reasons. Visit deep villages in Southern Imo and you will see that there is no difference but just sub dialect.

Anu meka!

Diala(Imo) Diali(Ikwerre)

Most common surname in Imo is Amadi
Most common surname in Ikwerre is Amadi
Traditional title for Imo is Oha
Traditional title for Ikwerre Ohna
Imo Onyenweala
Ikwerre Nyenweali

Even the masquerades are exactly same.

The difference starts coming when you approach Mbaitoli, Mbaise or Ikeduru depending on where you’re coming from and still these are the people called Isoma by Southern Imo. Basically what was done in Ikwerre after the war was to interchange Isoma with Igbo and the younger generation deceived
Your correct

From Owerri all the way to Obinze to Avu to Ohaji to Ohapu call Isoma and have same culture with Ikwerre ... But the idiot thought that Isoma is unique to the Ikwerre

You're high on fermented colos. Your tribesmen were slaves of those people you mentioned. Compare your huge population to the tiny acres of land you possess. You conquered nobody. Infact, those minority tribes around you all possess far bigger landmass than you are.
yet your free tribesmen are littering the whole country withe their slave masters names ...from Muslim to British

Who even take you guys Afo.nja serious these days

Just like the way they are crying now in Lagos....about their fear for Igbo, give Lagos in the next 50yrs ...Igbo will be widely spoken and places like Mile 2 all the way to FESTAC and Alaba Will be purely Igbo speaking areas

Just like the whole Agege will be Hausa speaking area

It will happen willy Nilly give it 50yrs from now ! This time around it's not via conquest like Fulani but by buy out and the Igbo
This your statement is already happening. When you came to this axis from mile 2 down to alakija, festac and iyana iba na so so Igbo Igbo everywhere. I thought I was in the East first time I came here

Shut up your dirty mouth. Olauda Equiano was from Anambra

Abagworo:
No he wasn’t from Anambra. Have you read the book or you are relying on wrong assumptions that he was from East because he was Igbo? Catherine Acholonu felt it should be correctly Isseke in Orsu, Imo State but it is Asaka in Delta because he wrote in the book that they were under the rule of Oba of Benin even though they were Igbos. Isseke never came under Benin rule at any point in time.

My brother there are more English speakers in America than England. Size shouldn't deceive you. It has been established that the migration route was through Ikwerre to the hinterland. Igbos left Ikwerre land just as Americans left England. With these few words of mine you will agree with me that Igbo is Ikwerre.
Well, this your point merely buttresses the point that there is at least a commutative relationship between the Igbo and Ikwerre.

In Mathematics parlance, a commutative relationship model is one of the examples below:

A + B = B + A
A x B = B x A

So, who birthed who is irrelevant.

We want a relationship with igbos based on mutual respect and understanding of our differences. By the time igbos because of their mere size want to swallow my identity this is where I say no. Not just no but a capital NO.
We are a related tribe with common ancestry. No one has the history but we came to meet ourselves speaking a language that has a lot in common.

Why do people like you just believe you know it all ?
You clearly know nothing about history, but you so much believe you know that you even come here with the arrogance of daring to teach history, of which you know nothing 😂
Nigerians, when will you guys stop ? Why are you often so ignorant and why do you confuse your imagination with history?

One Nigeria sweet[/quote]Your 100% economy in the SE can barely sustain 2 local government areas in the whole of SE. That's the reason you're the major leeches feeding fat on federal govt allocation (SS oil and SW VAT & other taxes). You're the poorest region in the South and 2nd poorest nationally.

that's why Niger Delta people bear their slave masters names like Jonathan, Briggs, Brown, Winston and all funny names

Even Yoruba bear their slave masters names like Rhodes, fenandez, Wellington, savages, Brown, Martin, Doherty etc

In short Yoruba has many slave names and they full everywhere ! You can't find an Igbo man with such names ! Igbo are proud ! Rather lesser people would bear Igbo James as surnames! You dare not find an Igbo man with foriegn surname! That will be slavery !

Those are the cultures that have real slaves ...

You can't see an Igbo man or Edo man bearing foriegn surenames like Yoruba and Niger Delta that were enslaved

Yoruba own they even bear their Arabic slavers names as surnames like Afeez, Sanusi, Tijani etc
Your ethnically bigoted post here is totally INCORRECT and highly inciting or divisive!

The Yoruba returnees (Yoruba Saros) from Sierra Leone to Lagos Island and Abeokuta in the early to mid-1800s used the adopted names of the European Christian Missionaries who adopted them NOT the names of any crappy slave masters.

Many Yorubas who returned from Brazil and Cuba adopted other Brazilian or Spanish names or simply dropped their Brazilian Portuguese names and adopted full Yoruba names. An example is the famous, aristocratic Alakija family patriarch who was the very wealthy founder of Daily Times and he became a Queen's Counsel after studying law in the UK. In the early 1900s he dropped his Brazilian name Placido Acumpcao and adopted the Yoruba Alakija family name. He was from a Royal Family in Abeokuta but some of his Egba-Yoruba ancestors where captured in battle and deported on a slave schooner to Brazil in the 1800s.

Second, Yoruba Muslims (Islam has been in Yorubaland for over 500 years and was first introduced into Iwo from Mali where the first mosque in Yorubaland was built. This is why Islam was called in Yoruba "Esin Imale" meaning "Religion from Mali." The Yoruba folks who number over 50 million worldwide also have the second largest Muslim population in Nigeria behind Hausas and ahead of Kanuris) like other Nigerian Muslims from Bariba, Borgu, Auchi-Etsako in Edo State, Ebira, Igala, Nupe, Hausa, Kanuri, Fulah, Gwari, Bura, etc, bear Arabic and Islamic names and they are NOT slaves but proud Muslims.

You and your Ibo family members bear Christian or European names today as Catholics or Anglicans, etc, does that make you a descendant of real slaves of the Europeans from back in the days of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade? Think wisely and do not post out of myopic bias.

They returned not as a free man but as ex slave

Those that with foreign names are ex slaves and they full for Yoruba land

That's the truth ....Yiu can twist it or write a thesis on them

Igbo do not hear Foriegn surnames...we aren't slaves

They migrated from Rivers State. Not all migrated. Those that migrated to Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu and Imo are today called Igbo.
They committed a taboo in in Ikwerre land in those days and we're given a marching order.
They were to be killed but a native doctor intervened by shouting Igbo Igbo Igbo. Igbo in Ikwerre means Don't kill. This was how those ikwerres in these places I mentioned started to answer Igbo.

I notice you are very ignorant.

Bonny and Opobo were the loading port for Thousands of Igbo carried off in the transatlantic slavery.

No doubt ijaws were used to hold them there.

However, when the transatlantic slavery was abolished, they became abandoned there.

They out numbered the Ijaws and till this day, all speak their native Igbo dialect.

To prove this, if you go further down into Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea, just like Bonny, Opobo, you have Igbo tribe and Igbo speakers there.

Opobo and Bonny is an igbo island never ijaw.
You're are ignorant, stop writing false writeup & making it looks it's history then decieve the young minds. You're making it look like only Igbo people were enslaved in the Eastern Nigeria and minority too also enslaved Igbo. The truth is that both Ibibio, Effic, Anang, Ijaw etc were all enslaved just like the Igbo, they also sold their people into slavery.

Secondly the Igbo in Equatoria Gguinea were Igbo and other minority groups that fled Nigeria during the Biafran war. Yes Igbo is a large ethnic group between west and cntral Africa so that's why everything is centered around us, whether good or bad. So stop making it look like the minority Ijaw enslaved Igbo. The minoroties were also not centralised just like us.
