When Atiku made a call recently, requesting for opposition parties to unite in order to stop Nigeria's decent to one party state, I laughed. I didn't find Atiku's request ridiculous because it lacks merit but the hidden agenda behind it.

Atiku has realized that PDP and LP going into election in 2027 against Tinubu and APC's rigging will be an effort in futility, so he is hoping that Obi and others will withdraw for him in the so-called coalition.

The question is, why is Atiku & some Northern Muslims fooling himself?

Atiku is not only greedy, but also shortsighted, impatient and arrogant. This man would have most likely become president in 2007 if only he didn't have those baggages I listed above. He was so disloyal to his boss Obasanjo, that he constantly planned and sabotaged him severally. In return, Obasanjo overlooked him as a successor and also vowed to stop his presidential ambition in future. When Goodluck Jonathan was about going for second tenure, which if he had completed it, presidency would have returned to North and Atiku would have clinched the ticket in 2015. What did Atiku do? He naively and arrogantly sabotaged Jonathan and teamed up with Buhari who was in APC to destroy Jonathan's chances. If Atiku wasn't so unfortunate, he would have known that Buhari would rule for 8 years & there was no way another Northerner would succeed him.

Today, instead of giving up and accepting he blew up his chances due to his tomfoolery, he is once again on a wild goose chase.

The coalition for 2027 is a good idea, but it must have Obi as its flagbearer. Obi is the most popular politician in Nigeria today. He actually won the 2023 election but was rigged out. However, if North decides to give Obi full backing in 2027, and he gets block votes in the SE and SS, there is nothing Tinubu can do to stop him. Also, the national assembly must ensure that INEC becomes truly independent before 2027.

Anything outside of these will hand Tinubu straight 8 years and I doubt if North will ever recover from the damage of Tinubu's treacherous policies.

Obasanjo is a very smart and brilliant fellow who rewards loyalty. If Atiku was loyal, he would have handed over to him

But Atiku is too desperate and is not strategic, he runs every time and that’s not how it works. Sometimes you have wait. Tinubu could have run in 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2019 but he was smart enough to know it wasn’t time..

Atiku's last chance was 2023. With people very angry with APC, all he needed to do was find a way to unite the opposition

And how do you think North will support Obi in 2027 when they they know that supporting Tinubu will make power return back to them in 2031 but if they support Obi it means power will return back to them in 2035.

Jobless Sadwaste, barely 1 month that The Supreme Court of Nigeria threw out the incompetent petitions of Gringory Obi & his Oga Abubakar Malu Atiku, you are already talking 2027?

Surely the presidency remains in the South in 2027, South West cannot run against themselves, so The South East is the opposition, & as usual Gringory will be up to be used as a guinea pig to fit the script in his political desperation.

If they're wise, it's better to support Obi who will be pan Nigerian in his policies and reverse the terrible damages Tinubu is doing to North. Someone like Obi is not a do or die politician. He wouldn't mind ruling for one term. Even if he rules for 8 years and develops North, won't it be better than allowing Tinubu turn Nigeria into Oduduwa republic?

Do you think North will ever recover if Tinubu remains on that seat for 8 years?

Calculation is already on ground

North can not support Obi in 2027, knowing fully well that power intoxicates. It is better for the north to serve Tinubu for another 4years rather than serving Obi for 4yrs which it can increase to 8yrs.

That's one of the factor made Jonathan lost on 2015.

Obi actually won several Northern states, particularly in the middle belt. He also got significant votes in urban centers across muslim North. He achieved that with an unknown party without structure! Should he be in a party that has structure like PDP, it would be game over!

If he gets full backing from North and INEC is prevented from rigging massively again, then Tinubu is out.

Lol, you really must be counting on INEC rigging massively again. Although, that will likely happen except the national assembly is able to reform it and make it independent while ensuring that technology such as BVAS and IREV becomes mandatory.

In a free and fair election today, Tinubu can only win in SW.

Sadwaste:

Who told u Tinubu a political Machiavelli of our time will seat behind and look while they plan to wrestle power from him? Must think Tinubu a Jonathan who allowed himself push out like mugu. The game master is playing his game even b4 hand.. continue to deceive urself.
