Meanwhile, the Balogun of Eko Abisoye Oyeyemi Oshodi said his lineage is Nupe. Does it mean there are indigenous Nupe people in Lagos? There are indigenous Benin people in Lagos? There are indigenous Braziliana in Lagos too? There are indigenous Yorubas in Lagos! 31 Likes 2 Shares |

His Ancestor, Oshodi Tapa was a Nupe slave, manumissioned by one Oba Of Lagos (Eleko then) It wasn't that there were indigenous Tapas in Lagos, this man Oshodi Tapa was a slave brought to Lagos from Nupe land... 47 Likes 1 Share |

illicit:Lol Nupe slave? Oh so you don't know that know that just like Benin wandered into Yoruba land in precolonial times, the Nupe our neighbors to the north did the same and vice versa. There are towns in Oyo State settled by Nupe known by Yorubas as Tapa. Learn history. 47 Likes 4 Shares |

Oba of bini said his ancestors probably found "some part" according to history, he didn't say they own it now. He didn't even mention the name of location he think they found in Lagos. He is just trying to fams yoruba since ipob is already claiming his land, Oba of bini is of yoruba decent. 33 Likes 6 Shares |

Oba of Benin utterances was not necessary. That your ancestors were allowed to settle and built a camp on a tiny area around Lagos Island doesn't make them the founder of the land. Tomorrow Igbos can as well say they found Lagos because of Alaba market. 62 Likes 8 Shares |

Good one Sir Oshodi. Our ppl dey talk say "na from clap we dey enter dance". If this 'misyarn' is not quickly nipped in d bud, the generation yet unborn of our biafran-Bini brethren will be chanting "we build Ragos" "we deverrop Ragos" like their biaflan-igbo cousins. legitnow1: Lol na dis kind news dey make una dick rise. Because you couldn't explain how Lagos is Igbo land you want to support the Binis so that you can legitimise your "no man's land" rhetorics. At the end of the day, all these talks will only make the Yorubas to be less accommodating and more politically conscious in Lagos. You accuse Yorubas of tribalism in the last election? Just wait for the 2027 election with the way things are going. Make una carry your Benin join body in Biafra abeg. 45 Likes 6 Shares

illicit:Lol. The Fulanis and Yoruba civil war is what led to the capturing of Yorubas in Yoruba land. It was even on record that the British had to call a meeting of Yorubas in Lagos in the early 1990s to settle the dispute of that civil war However, what is the reason Nupes will be captured as slaves and sold in Yorubaland even when thriving Nupe communities exist all over Yoruba land before colonial period. 13 Likes |

Corn247:Words are powerful bro. If he had used "binis settled in (a part of) lagos", it would've bn understood, but "binis found lagos" carries a lot of weight. Na so 'some ppl' enter night bus from wherever they originated from, to settle in Lagos, and 2 generations after, they started dragging lagos with Yorubas. E beta as we set the record straight like that to avoid unnecessary misconception in future; or else in 100 years time, his great-grandchildren will quote what their great-grandfather said in 2023 as their gospel truth. 55 Likes 6 Shares |

Iamgrey5: Regardless of what you believe to be true about the humble - or not so humble - origins of Landuji Oshodi aka Oshodi Tapa, the family's current view is the following Several centuries ago, our ancestor, Chief Oshodi Tapa was given this land in recognition of his military prowess and assistance to the Onigbesa of Igbesaland during the era of the slave trade. The land gift was a gesture of appreciation by the Onigbesa, who was the original owner of this area from time immemorial and it has been our possession since, not as customary tenants but as absolute owners. The Onigbesa gifted the land to Chief Oshodi Tapa without conditions. The benin man really fcukkd up, it was supposed to be a very positive, inspiring and friendly visit, but he rubbished his own visit with his ignorant, crude, tactless and thoughtless comment, he basically joined the rif rafs and gutter elements like the Igbos and their ignorant and unintelligent comments about Lagos state. He really didn't have to join that inglorious bandwagon, he diminished himself and rubbished his position with that comment especially right in front of his gracious host, which was so insulting, degrading and rewriting your host's history in his face. In fact, how do you find or discover an occupied environment with an established culture, language, and way of life? The man spoke like a roadside clown. 43 Likes 10 Shares |
