Mr Wahab charged Lagosians to respect the state drainage master plan to avoid property demolition. “We will not allow individuals who have no business in the state to become an environmental nuisance and security risk.” This final notice should not be disregarded please. Sincerely, this is a tough decision even for the Lagos state government. When we go through the right processes in obtaining all the necessary documentation for our property, we take away the burden to take this kind of difficult decision away from the Lagos state Government. Please let us cooperate with Lagos State Government. In states like Anambra, you will even have to pay the government for the expense Anambra state government incurred in demolishing and removing your property. Please obey the law in Lagos or stay back in wherever you are and don't bother to relocate to Lagos. Here in Lagos, the law works. Please don't break the law first and hope to sort (bribe) corrupt officials . You will only push the day of reckoning forward because one day an upright person will take over and check the files meticulously like it's currently happening. If you are ready to be law abiding, please bring your investments to Lagos state. God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! 40 Likes 6 Shares

We cannot say we want a country that works that is why we want to japa, yet we dare not try all the rubbish we do in Nigeria in the places we regard as saner climes. Verdict: We are the very insanity that is plaguing Nigeria. 84 Likes 7 Shares |

They should not wait till the illegal structures are completed before they start to demolish just as the useless FHA is doing. Any ongoing construction that is illegal should be brought down. BTW, the incompetent FHA should look into the main Festac Town where almost all residential houses (block of flats) at the ground floors have been converted for business activities. Duplexes along the roads aren't spared either. They have almost converted all to commercial centres. If you grew up at Festac Town in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s and have not been to Festac Town in years, omo you go cry. Almost everyone living in Festac is doing business. Na wa 45 Likes 5 Shares |

Chicagograduate:This is not about whataboutisms. Those who have ears should hear. You dare the state, the state will bring down its weight of the law upon you. Beremx:FHA told them to stop when they were still at foundation level but they said they paid omoonile and continued building in complete disregard to the FHA directive. https://www.nairaland.com/7923242/demolitions-festac-fg-warned-land This is Lagos state Government and FHA spending a lot of resources and time to fix the problem and at no expense to any of the violators unlike Anambra state government that imposed such expense to serve as deterrent. Perhaps Lagos State Government may soon adopt that to serve as deterrent too like Anambra. 28 Likes 2 Shares

FreeStuffsNG:FHA told them to stop building and they continued? That's a lie!! FHA is dreaded in Festac Town if you dunno. You dare not continue building when FHA tells you to stop. I'm very sure some corrupt FHA staff together with Omo Nile sold land to people. As long as it's Festac Town, Omo Nile cannot operate solely 29 Likes 7 Shares |

Beremx:You're admitting that the violators were actively involved and aware. Whether it is omoonile or corrupt FHA officials, would you believe anyone of them enough to go ahead even when the FHA marked your house for demolition or tells you to stop at the foundation level? You will not do that nah. You will rather err on the side of caution and attempt to cut your losses. 31 Likes 2 Shares

Very sad, same people who complain that there’s flood in Lagos , that Lagos is a slum will attribute this demolition of houses blocking drainage as a tribal war. 35 Likes 5 Shares |

These lands being reclaimed now, are you telling me they won't be resold in a couple of years time? If the state government is genuinely unaware of this land racketeering, why haven't they taken action to apprehend the syndicate responsible? Be playing 9 Likes |

Mr Wahab also visited Chevron Drive, where he issued a stop work order to Gravitas company, owners of Grace Ville Island and Pocket Island, for sand filling part of Ikota River, thereby reducing the lagoon size from the original 250 metres designed to accommodate the free flow of water. But Mr Wahab sir, Lagos state Sandfilled bar beach and turn it to Eko Atalantic . Somebody or some agency is currently sandfilling the Lagoon that flows under third mainland bridge at Iyana Oworo . Ilubirin was sandfilled during Fashola era and they are currently building “ Lagos Homes “ there now. One question sir; won’t those waters create another paths for themselves? 26 Likes 5 Shares |

It's not enough to demolish these buildings without building proper drainages after the demolition. I hope they are not going to leave it bare and maybe resell it in the future. One hardly trusts the government these days! 4 Likes |

Anything to make Lagos state great is welcomed. In other news, read about the: Greedy Nature And Covetousness For Lagos State VERY INTERESTING READ Which Lagos? Is it Lagos as a state or Lagos as a City? First it was "all land in Lagos belongs to us, we own all the houses and the real estate"; Then "we developed all of Lagos"; then "Lagos is a no man's land"; then "Lagos is not part of Southwest"; Then "Lagos is not a Yoruba land"; Then "Benins are owners of Lagos"; Then "you're not a True indigen of Lagos"; Then "Lagos culture is not the same as the Yoruba Culture"; Then "Lagos is indigenous land of Lagos natives not Yoruba"; Then "Aworis are not Yoruba"; Then "Lagos is a former federal capital so it is not a Yoruba Land"; Then "Lagos is a formal British colony so it belongs to the British"; To them, Lagos belongs to any other tag or people, but not the Yorubas. (like fetching API data in reactjs) The Major Problems are: ==> 1. Covetousness: a. Having or showing a great desire to possess something belonging to someone else. b. A painful awareness of another's possessions or advantages and a desire to have them too. Synonyms: jealousy, hatred, resentment, envy, enviousness, invidiousness, malice, enmity, animosity, green-eyed monster, ill will, spitefulness, maliciousness. ==> 2. Greed (or avarice): a. Delusion of grandeur is the false belief that one is important or powerful, accompanying certain mental disorders. It is also known as paranoid grandiosity. Has a very fragile self-esteem They: 10. Have an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and require constant, excessive admiration. 11. Feel that they deserve privileges and special treatment. 12. Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements. 13. Make achievements and talents seem bigger than they are. 14. Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate. 15. Believe they are superior to others and can only spend time with or be understood by equally special people. 16. Be critical of and look down on people they feel are not important. 17. Expect special favors and expect other people to do what they want without questioning them. 18. Take advantage of others to get what they want. 19. Behave in an arrogant way, brag a lot and come across as conceited. 22. Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office.
