None.
But I can guarantee you that they'll still ask you to "bless" them, "appreciate" the office or "smile at them with your hands" at the point of DIV aka interview and after biometrics.
Those who refused to appreciate, bless or smile often have their passport information not sent for production or the production centre will always run out paper when it gets to producing your own.
I'm typing from experience.
I appreciated 3 officers at 3 different table compulsorily before and after capturing.
I am talking about a week ago.
You can imagine the total cost implication.
I thought the CCTV camera I saw in one of the offices will prevent corruption but na lie.
They collected it

Those were expired politicians. They were only appointed as political largesse to rake in their investment. The guy isn't a core politician, so he has some reputation to protect & he is a tech man which makes it easier to revolutionalized the system. Immigration actually really needed tech touch same for the Police force.

The CCTV records only what they want it to record.
The office I went to has "NO PHONES OR RECORDERS ALLOWED" boldly pasted on the walls.
They even seized a lady's phone, saying she wants to record them.
The rot is unimaginable.
I just hope this minister will take complains seriously when they start pouring in.

What of the time it takes to do approvals on every node of the process?
Can he put timeline on it so that every officer in charge of each process/node can be tracked and assessed on whether they did it on time or not because Olori buruku ni awon people yen o?
They will want to frustrate applicants since their source of egunje has reduced.

Any officer that didn’t do his or her work within an approved time limit, the system should automatically take the role away from such officer and give/add it to the work of another senior officer. Such defaulting officer’s KPI should be painted in red and he or she should be punished by not collecting salary for the month.

The minister should help us put a tracking system online too so that we can know each stage the process has reached. We will know where our passport has got ‘stucked’ and can report it accordingly.

There should be a complaint portal as well where we can report any officer trying to collect br1b.e from us.

Let those yeye immigration officials too see shege promax. Let them spend from their own monthly salaries since they have got employed.

Walahi, over here, it takes less than 5 minutes to capture at various embassies. At their VFS office, no single soul on queue. And under 3 minutes, you biometric is taken and you have left. Before evening, you get an email that your biometric has been successfully submitted to the appropriate embassy.

Freaking simple.
No queue. No crowd. No biz center where they are making photocopies. No puff puff and minerals seller outside. No seat rental. No touts collecting parking fee. No emergency passport photograph booth.

This is exactly what we want in Nigeria.

Note, as attached:
Pix 1: VFS Office, Vienna.
Pix 2: German Embassy, Vienna.
Pix 3: Canadian Embassy, Vienna.

On a Monday morning o.

There is no embassy here where you would see crowd. You won’t even know it is an embassy until you read small inscription they put on a wall or until you see a country’s flag with an inscription saying this is an embassy of so so country.

The immigration officers will frustrate the biometrics. They are the major bottleneck in passport application.

The bad eggs among them that will frustrate this should be shown an exit door to labour markets.

Some of those bad eggs are with us here on Nairaland. Awon oloriburuku. And they would be among the first sets of people that would blame government for things that go wrong.

Make use of the complaints contact numbers of the Minister's aides as posted a while ago. Unfortunately I no longer have it but I'm aware that it worked for some people.

PASSPORT BOOKLET SCARCITY AT NIS HQ ABUJA.
delpee:

The Minister Olubunmi Ojo is simply on a self showmanship mission.
As we write, NIS officers still claim NO PASSPORT BOOKLET at Abuja HQ.
The NIS officer says some officers have the booklet and he would find out from them and get back to me.
I suspect he might ask me to pay for their booklet to produce my passport.
This is their Abuja HQ.
My application has been on AWAITING PRODUCTION for 8 WEEKS!
So what’s Olubunmi Ojo saying about this.

Nice one. These are the kind of reforms and news we need.
Let's keep our fingers crossed waiting for it to work. Why? Nigerians cannot be trusted, some officials there will "chook" even "finger" the machines so it does not work, claiming minister wasts to remove money from their mouth.

Is Dangote refinery an FG project?

Why are you people like this?

That would be fab. Nothing would give me more personal joy than to defeat those corrupt and very greedy immigration officers. Put them out of business completely.

They are the most sadisitic, most evil and wicked enemies-of-progress in all Nigerian parastatals combined. No wonder Atiku thrived and became a multi-billionaire as their boss.
you are at their mercy so you would eventually bulge to their demands. Crazy🤣.. But the process is better now without the usual hassle
