These Gen Z guys don't know anything and they do not read. The pope visited him being the head of state and also used the opportunity to plead with him to release some people he imprisoned at the time. peteofi: |

Those commenting on event that took place when they weren't born without doing a background check. Should note that one of the reasons for such visit was to apoeai to the military ruler to hand over power to a civilian administration. We also had the likes of bill Clinton( US president on such visits) unfortunately this civilian rule has become an unforgetable nightmare since Apc took over. 1 Like |

id4sho: General Abdulsalam Abubakar, Colonel Abdallah and Major Al-Mustapha. This was the second time that the Pope came to Nigeria. He came in 1982 and I remember everything that happened during the 1982 visit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g69PggL_Qjc?si=ATmXwklzxDOhYlH7 PrinceOfLagos: He came to give Abacha a list of detainees to release. There were a lot of political prisoners then and the Pope came with a list of people that he wanted Abacha to release. 1 Like |

Mindlog: Religion is such a disease that blinds both the intellect and spirit. Otherwise, can you tell me how many nurses or doctors who "went beyond" their terms of engagement have been fired in Nigeria for doing the same? I have seen some hospitals in Nigeria using "we care but God heals" as their motto!! 1 Like |

OP, I have followed your post and most comments here just proved something I was hoping not to be true. Whites have finished brainwashing the black race. Lets go back in history. Abacha was head of state and Nigeria was sanctioned and yet our economy still thrived? Why? The whites did to Abacha what they did to Gadafi of Libya. He Abacha proved to them that we don't need them to be a prosperous nation and they assassinated him and all the money he was saving for raining days was stamped on him to be looted funds. I just pray we would wake up and see through the schemes of these Europeans and outsmart them because that's what they fear most about the black race. We are smarter than they are. Let's read in between the lines. Thanks God bless NIGERIA |

slaawomirr:She was probably sack because of unsolicited prayers. The person she prayed for may not share Christian beliefs. The person must have reported the issue. The reality some Christians are over zealous with their opinions. They want to force it on you and that is lack of respect for others ppls beliefs. If you want to how crazy some of them are just disagree with the opinion of their pastor and you will see the serious break down in your relationship with them...lol they can even become visibly angry 1 Like |

peteofi:Don't mind him. What was the exchange rate during the time of abacha, with Nigeria under heavy sanctions, and now. The economy thrived under the amiable general. Abacha is a million times better than the present-day looters. He was a humane leader and, God being with him, those who plotted his assassination ended up getting a dose of their own medicine or fled the country. Abacha passed on peacefully at home but today tribalists who control a section of the press have planted a lie that he was killed while in the company of prostitutes. |

[quote author=hammerFC post=127276092] THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA IS UNDER-COVER CIA AGENTS DESTROYING OUR ECONOMY FROM WITHIN. ABACHA DID NOT LET THEM IN AND THEY HATED HIM, JUST AS THEY HATE THE LEADERS IN NIGER REP, MALI AND BURKANA FASO. WE GOT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. THE WEST WANT DEMOCRACY SO THEY CAN FUND PUPPETS INTO OUR SEAT OF POWER. BUHARI WAS A PUPPET.[/quote1] Tinubu too is a puppet. all their economic policies are neocolonialist aimed at damaging our economy Instead of repairing it. That's why they sign deals they have signed before over & over again. They sign raw materials export deals instead of refinery export deals. imagine upon the entire sanctions Abach had from the West, unemployment was low and our economy was thriving. even fuel price was very low I think 10 naira. OBJ came and increased it to 40 naira in 99. |

musicwriter: The Nurse was not fired in Nigeria, Nigeria is not same as the UK. The patient she prayed for has every right to sue her and the management of the health facility for traumatizing him/her through the "imposing" a religious activity on him or her. I also work here in the UK in a clinical role, during induction we were taught to keep our religious views, activities and beliefs to ourselves, if a patient requests for any form of religious engagement, the appropriate steps to take. |

43Ronin: THE WEST IS SLAVERY. LOOK WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DO TO RUSSIA. IF RUSSIA WAS NOT STRONG, THEY WOULD HAVE COMPLETELY DESTROYED THEM CODELY. THEY HATE CHINA BECAUSE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, THREATEN THEM WITH WAR. U THINK THEY WANT NIGERIA TO GROW? WE NEED TO START USING OUR HEAD. IT IS EITHER US OR THEM, IF THE LEADER FIGHT THEM, IT MEANS THEY ARE FOR US. IF THE LEADER IS ACCEPTED BY THEM, IT MEANS THE LEADER IS AGAINST US. THIS IS WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO EXPLAIN IN NIGER REPUBLIC. I DONT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH BLACK BRAIN. |
