Fill a new Ds-160 and change the ds-160 number you used to book an appointment. This is the same method used by crooks who sells ‘date’s to people. Hopefully your passport hasn’t expired, otherwise you might need to contact the consulate to help rectify both the ds-160 and passport number (they’ll ask for your old and new ds-160 number). Hopefully, you have the same name in your old number, otherwise they might think you’re trying to sell the date to someone else

Hey !

There is no difference between the Green Card , and the Lawful Permanent Residency Card . The I 551 card your potential employer asked you to get is the OFFICIAL FORM NUMBER OF THE GREEN CARD .

Therefore, your potential employer is indirectly asking you to go and get a green card if you want to come and work for them .

Be careful to verify that your potential employer is real because i want to think that you are supposed to go and resume the job via the route of an H 1B working visa.

There is God...don't give up.
Thanks alot for your response God bless

Fill a new DS160 and resubmit.
Since you already earn in USD while working remote, you don’t have a compelling reason to return to Nigeria.
Be tactful and intentional not to allow this be a reason your application is denied.

Hey !

Elderly people or older applicants naturally have better visa chances with the VO because they see them as categories who does not easily commit crimes and who goes particularly because of their children or grand kids.

That being said , if Mama is going to visit her own biological children then she has a better chances unlike when she is going for wedding or relatives party . Elders are not mostly judged by their grammar usage , ties , financial ability , education etc.

They judge them mostly with body fitness (medical), real intention , the children's status in the USA, their ability to cope with others ..etc.

Having traveled to the UK before will give the CO (Consular officer) the rest of mind that mama can cope in the USA .

Let mama be natural and tell the CO her real intentions . YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE TO TEACH HER MUCH ...LET HER DEAL WITH THE VO NATURALLY .

There is God ...don't give up.
She was granted visa
Asked her few questions
Purpose of the trip
Where In the US
Has she travelled before and where?

She said she no hear other long fast grammar way VO dey yarn infact VO had to tell her go! You can go now!
She left but walked up to some staff on her way and queried why she was not given any paper like she learnt
The man responded its not possible and assisted to check all her documents and behold found the white paper in between...lol

All Glory to God...it was just God!
Thank you very much

Hey !

Forget about the former DS 160 if you cannot retrieve it. You can fill DS 160 as many times as you want .

Fill another DS 160 and make sure that your passport photo is accepted and displayed on the final submission confirmation page .

After that, Login to your CGI page and update your DS 160 there .

After 24 or 72 hrs..loging back to your CGI page and reprint your appointment confirmation letter , your new DS 160 number will display on it automatically.

Good day everyone, thanks for all you do. Please, I have a few questions.

I came to the US as a student in 2021 August, and I graduated in May, 2023. After graduation, I got married to my gf who is an American citizen in June 2023, and she also came to the state where I schooled for postgraduate education, just like me. She graduated a year before me and even though she had a job offer waiting for her in her state, she stayed back to start another work in that state because she wanted to stay with me while I am still a student, and still have a year to round up my program. I started working in July, 2023 as a consultant after graduation, and we now live together. What we did in June 2023 was an official court validated wedding with our families joining via zoom. It was just me and her and the officiating pastor. However, her family owns a church in her state and that is where almost all her family lives and we will be having a church wedding there in December 2024, and then a reception to follow, and I want my mother to be attending the ceremony (My dad is late). Also, even though my wife wanted me to, I haven’t applied for a green card and I work using my OPT for now. All these are just to give a proper context to everyone. So, my question are the following;

1. How soon enough can I start my mother’s B2 visa application considering appointment date issues?

2. Can she apply and go for the interview early next year, have the visa, and then travel in November next year?

3. Will booking an appointment date of let say March, 2024, which is 10 months in advance of the ceremony, jeopardize her chances of getting the visa?

4. What dates are people able to get currently as I don’t have an idea. I only remember that I had to initiate emergency in 2021 to get a favorable appointment date when I traveled on an F1 visa.

5. Since I am already married and what she’s coming for is our church wedding to honour my wife’s parents (she’s their first child and they are pastors so they want her to have a church wedding where their congregation can witness and bless), what will she say her reason for traveling is?

6. Will using my wife’s name as the sponsor increase her chances?

7. Can my wife file a green card for her while she’s out of the country? Is it necessary and will that be needed?

Sorry for my elaborate questions 😔😔. Thanks in advance to those who will take out their time to give me answers. I appreciate you all.

Start your application asap, getting a date is a tussle for first timers and those who don’t qualify for Dropbox

Your status is legal so you shouldn’t be bothered if you can fill your form accurate and be well put together with your case

Your wife cannot file for your mother, you’re the one who can file for your mother when you’re of status to do so

Chances are individualized, no one can dictate or tell chances, it can only be predicted.

Fill your form in the best way possible and in the most plausible manner and also educate your mom on what to say during the interview.

I wish your mom all the best!

Good day all.
Both names as sponsors. You and wife. You work and direct relation/family to your mum.
Leave GC matter for now. It will give notion she won’t be coming back after B1/B2 and will adjust status. That’s easy reason for VO to hide behind when denying the B1/B2. You guys can do GC later on.
Start searching for dates yesterday.

Good day. I am married with 2 kids (11 and 7 years) my husband wants me to relocate to the US with the kids. My husband has been to several countries, but I have only been to Dubai thrice because of my business, and I also have a school I run here in Nigeria… what are the chances of getting tourist visa with the kids? Or should my husband come with me? What are the chances … Thank you
Hey !

You have a good travel history despite the fact that those sojourn were only routed in UAE.

No matter how small your school is , the CO (Consular Officer) sees you as a School Administrator cum educationist , and a business woman.

Why not find an educational professional course , seminars , conferences etc and apply ? I know of an international educational module course which will align your certificate program to Loyola University .

Going for something academic is way better than just going for tourism as an educationist. The US VOs sees those going for tourism as going for FUN and PLEASURE .

You may as well opt for M.Ed in a reputable University in the USA and go with the kids.

There is God..don't give up.

=====

PS : On the other hand , your hubby with you and the kids may apply for Tourist visas together as family ..that is also fine but you are all going for FUN AND PLEASURE ..getting Appointment itself might be hard .

Hey !

1. You can start your mom's B1/B2 visa application right away . Go and buy the MRV and initiate her Appointment.

2. Let her apply from June 2024. Once you buy the MRV and open her CGI page , she will have the options of reschedule and emergency appointment.

3. I think 2025 but don't bother about that . Focus on your momsy own. She will get the emergency Appointment approved if you do your work well.

4. Her reason for travel is to attend her son's wedding . You have to write an emotional invitation letter to her . Your in-law as well as the church will write their own letters inviting her as a must attend guest. Indicate in the letter that she is a widow ..bla bla i can draft sample letter as time goes by. THAT LETTER WOULD BE USE TO APPLY FOR HER EMERGENCY...She will take it along on the day of interview too.

5. Use your in-law church as the sponsor . Explain the situation to your wife . Your wife as a sole sponsor is not a strange thing in the USA but it's not reasonable to the VO. And you cannot stand as the sponsor because by then you could not have gather enough money .

6. If you want your mom to stay behind legally wait till she land first . You with your wife should go and see a reputable Visa attorney in the US.

Fill out another, ring the customer service preferably and it’ll be updated almost immediately or you can update it on your profile yourself. If your interview date is within 72 hours it may not be possible to make this change, so it’s good to be brisk about the change.

Pls do you have idea in the site i can book for a flight ? Ahead.
Just save and exit the DS160 portal . Once you have paid for the visa fees, you can try getting a date on the portal.

You can keep going back to the portal from time to time for about 90days I think.

Hey !

If you missed your appointment with the embassy without notification you will not be penalised because the embassy will reason that something bad might have happened on the way .

However , you will see another reschedule option in your CGI profile for you to pick another date.

But since you are conscious of your present scenario why don't you login to your CGI and reschedule your appointment to a farther date ?

Or call the CGI help line and explain the situation, they will assist you to reschedule i think .

You can also use the feedback option to explain to the embassy that you want a farther date .

Best wishes 🙏

There is nothing you or anyone can do to increase chances of getting appointment dates apart from logging into your ustraveldocs.com profile everyday - limited to 3 times a day so the portal doesn't temporarily block you - and checking for available dates.
The above is even dependent on you already having received the mail to book a date and you have done so.
