Them nor dey tell person. We get eyes and can see Nigeria has no future

Lols..

Imagine..

The country is like a family where the children have been neglected and worse is the children are aware their parents are supposedly more than capable.
In such a situation, some of the children will either go crazy and do all sorts of crazy bad things or go crazy to go very far from that demoralizing family. These days, out of 10 students maybe only 3 no dey hustle negatively.... SMH

We've seen that play out over the years. As a Lagos ghetto bred child, I saw mothers looking for excuses not to feed their child(any small mistake will end with: "Shey you go come chop? No afternoon food or night food for you today"wink
Me that never experienced such treatment was almost foolish enough to join such ómó ótà in the misbehaviors of teenagers. Most of those sluggers were killed in the same ghettos that bred them... SMH

Although, I currently can't take out millions from my business for myself to Japa as I see it as unwise, I would gladly do so for my children.

Those always yabbings those who Japa should please tell us how the helpless and powerless children of Nigeria can make the country conducive . All the ills in society is as a result of what exactly? These are monsters created how? Abi una no know say environment can shape somebody personality? At the end of the day, all these spoilt goods will be recycled into leadership positions under a seasoned politician in the game of spoiling the country. And it'll countinue, so it's a helpless situation, no?

Worse is, these wereys in leadership positions spoiling the country can never let their own children school here, medical nko?

So when you speak, stop using words like "We Nigerians". Or me and your ancestors follow gather borrow and share osusu supposedly meant for upbuilding work in the country? Awon werey, mention them by name, else you're also part of the problem of misinformation in this country.... Oni yéyéangry

Abeg, those that can and are confident of their movement should just go.

Us ancestors will kick jerrycan here grin

I am saying your plan is not good and feasible. If your spend your 5m on acre and rubber plantation, How would you maintain the farmland for seven years or you think you plant rubber seeds and go to sleep? What will you be eating for 7 years until you rubber mature for harvesting? You don't know hunger can kill? Your plan is only good for those that have other money to play with not for a somebody who has do-or-die japa money

An acre is 250k In Ogun and Ondo 2.5acres makes an hectare, I am not buying land and planting rubber with all the money, with 2m land and seedlings don set. I am an advocate of start small then expand to big size.

Exactly. Nigerians don't read. Many just read the topic and jump to comment. Some also read and don't understand and would still make comment along with the topic.

If you are doing fine in Nigeria, you don't need to japa unless if it's by divine instruction from God through His Holy Spirit.

Think say 💭 na only me understand the post

Awesome, but how would you mitigate farmers/ herders clash ?

Buy land in clusters of other farmers, you rarely see herders graze where tree crops are, their canopy doesn't favour bush growth

Rubber farmers are concentrated in Ogun, Ondo, Edo and Delta state, if you know someone there, he should help you find out clusters where rubber farmers are, you can setup yours close to them because of the advantages in groups.

They sell land in Ogun and Ondo @200 to 250k per acre but do your research well no go buy govt reserve area or family land with wahala

The headline is highly misleading and most likely written to sensationalize his statement.

He neither endorsed Japa syndrome nor encouraged them to leave.

On the contrary, he says that Japa will create opportunities for those left behind to even compete globally. He also added that when the eyes of japa-items clear, they will realise that back home is where they are needed.

Change this irresponsible headline

To Japa you need like 20 million naira and above ...high costs of flight ticket to abroad, to get an accommodation, feeding, proof of funds, visa fees and many other expenses you will incur financially to Japa...the costs of living is high in many European countries and countries abroad

Anyhow, 1000 piece of snail can fill a space of around 5000 litres. Do you believe that 1000 was sold 2million naira some days ago.

I am not trying to discourage you, I am only pushing you to do a detailed assessment of what you want if it is your dream to own a rubber farm. When your goals are SMART, they become achievable. That means you can see it, feel it and achieve it. 7years is a long period of waiting hence you have to be thorough with your calculations and analysis.... between 2018-2022, I have invested about 27million in Agriculture I did not buy land because I was gifted lots of family land. There was never a year the business made more than 2million after deducting all expenses ( including paying myself and the workers). I had to gift the business to my parents and focus on more important things.
Where's the land? if I can get few portion to borrow, I will be grateful. You invested 27million and you don't make more than 2 million yearly. All this are the signs of poor maintenance, not doing right crops, poor soil, Do you know that ordinary castor seeds of a kg sell about 6k for planting, and 5kg will do an hectares. At harvest, an hectares can give a tonne or more or less but around 800kg to 1100kg , a tonne is around 2 million naira, this is something that will harvest 4 times in a year. 4 times in a year gives it around 8 million naira. Just for a hectare. For castor seeds the 2nd harvest will be like times 3 of the first harvest, the 3rd will be like times 2 of the 2nd harvest depending on your management. With castor seeds, if you have a hectare, you can became a millionaire in a year. just one hectares . The rest goes on, sunflower, coconut, plantain, cashew, cocoa, plantain, palm. Those crops have less probability of having issue and maintenance isn't everyday. Cocoa remains the highest export Nigeria has every year. And you dey talk say you dey get 2 million after investment of 27 million. There was something I saw on agriculture group here last week, the post was about 1000 tonne of cocoa needed. Imagine the type of land that will produce such. So, it's either your management is very poor, or land is very costly or you plant less return crops.

Na una dey end up being frstratrated in the abroad... America that claims to have the most well paid labour market has some of her citizens being homeless and most citizens won't own a 3bedroom apartment completely till dey die. Dey there dey imagine japarians lies. Some of Japarians eye don clear after many years of unrealistic dreams.

What you highlighted here will even encourage people to japa. After waiting for 7 years before you start recouping your money of about 1.5m monthly. 7 good years. Have you ever heard of time value of money.

People that japa can save up to 10 - 20m in a year. For 7 year years that is 70 - 140m. You can earn up to 10m/year for that money just by investing in government treasury bond without doing anything. This does not include any salary yo are earning

You're not totally correct either. He was actually bi-polar in his remarks concerning "Japa". For those interested in leaving, he encouraged to abide by their plans if they have the wherewithal.

Those who choose to remain in Nigeria are encouraged to build themselves positively in education and training to help them compete favorably with their foreign counterparts.

I think, he was actually neutral in his stands because he knew the importance of both scenarios. Everyone knows the government has failed Nigeria and you cannot enforce individuals to remain entrapped in a country when they could find better livelihood for themselves elsewhere.
A very sound and perfect speech by Kuka!

Wise words from you! I made the decision in 2020. I planted plantain/cocoa since 2021 averagely i do see over #600000 from plantain alone. with the current price of a metric tonne of cocoa at #4.4m my projection is over #10m annually once the cocoa trees are matured That is enough to keep both the soul and body together

rubber is even too long on maturity, you can do watermelon that mature in 2 months, an acre should give you almost a million naira. There are so many crops you can do in few months. You can do castor seeds, sunflower seeds, green pepper, veggies, cucumber, ugwu, mushroom, snails. A kg of castor seeds currently is around 2k, An hectares should give like a tonne after 3 months, a tonne is around 2 million naira, after the first harvest, 2nd harvest multiply by 3 of the first harvest depending on management and GAP.
pls do you have contact of those that do buy castor seed?

Wait till you have 5 million. All these analysis na because you never see 5m.

When 5m enter your hand, that's when you'll start feeling as if everybody wants to kidnap you, then you'd start considering how the government can move into your plot with caterpillars in 6 months time or how killer herdsmen or bandits would turn your plantation into their camp..
Just wait till you have the 5m.
The four and a half acre of thick forest i bought then was #325000. with the clearing planting of almost 800 single stands of plantain and about 2000 stands of cocoa i did not spend close to 700k. Today the worth of that farm now is over #6m. So far so good i have seen time 3 of my initial investment just from plantain alone. Just yesterday my people went to farm for light harvesting i collected 63k. Me Japa is not in my dictionary

OK, so with 3M, you will maintain the farm, feed and pay your workers for seven years? When you do a business pitch, do not tell your potential investor that you will be doing another business for your feeding and upkeep, it shows that the funds they are investing is not critical to you
In agric you learn to explore other profitable short term frontiers that could help you cushion the effect of your initial spending. if you are an agric person these should not be a problem
