Thank you. The problem is we are too blinded with Emotism and ludicricism I know of a footballer in Otukposhire in Blackburn. He is currently earning 120k in a week which is thrice more than Osimhen's wage. In the theory of here and now, Osimehn won't start for his team. He will be lucky to see the stadium.
.

The fact that some of them won’t own up and apologize makes it pretty difficult for themselves.

Why is it so hard to say, oh I misjudged this player when he was evolving but now I have seen, he’s highly gifted and everyone will move on.

This is the Nigerian problem, you must support somebody based on favouritism, nepotism and tribalism.

This is the reason we have a certificate forgerer, ID Thief, Convicted Drug dealing money launderer, ,etc as a President.

According to you Salah is not exceptional.

Wow your so blinded with bias.

Sir, the highlighted part is what I was expecting you to write upon, to shows the exceptionality of Salah for the period under review for APOTY

Congrats to Victor

Will Kelechi Iheanacho get to this stage ?
In my opinion Kelechi has the quality too grin

Please don’t attack me
Na my opinion
Winning APOTY is easy for talented footballer cuz I have seen not too fantastically footballers that have won it…..to win it believes in your talent not money,Okocha went for money and Ikpeba followed his career strictly and won it.

If Osimhen chooses a wrong club he would not even be nominated talk less of winning it,going to Napoli did it and he should be careful in his next step before leaving Napoli.

Ghana? So,because he did not score against Ghana means Ghana is a good team? grin grin grin how many years did it take Messi to score against Chelsea or against Enyeama? Did it change the fact that Messi is a great footballer?

It's a monthly award for rookies; meaning those having their first stint in the league. The rookie of the year obviously can only be won once, but the monthly rookie award can be won multiple times.

AMUNEKE RESPONDS STRONGLY TO BARRAGE OF CRITICISMS ON CHOICE OF SALAH OVER OSIMHEN

“Good morning house, I want to use this opportunity to clear what some of you are saying in this platform. With all due respect to every one of you that I owe with high regard.

First of all, I want you to understand the rumours that you guys are [spreading] concerning me not voting Osimhen. I was never elected to vote.

On our way to the novelty game that we played in Marrakech here, a former player and captain of the Egyptian national team - who is preparing himself to become a TV producer in Egypt – with his group, he was debating on the Arabian team and he raised the question between Hakimi and Salah.

There was time Osimhen was mentioned in that discussion. He came to me and asked ‘Hakimi or Salah’. I have to say Salah. And the reason why I said Salah was because I played in Egypt and I lived in Egypt and I know some of the guys there.

So, there is nothing like voting against Osimhen. Osimhen is our player and our boy. We are happy about what he has achieved and we hope he would continue to dream and achieve more for the betterment of his career and the betterment of Nigeria.

It has come a time in our culture in Nigeria – with all due respect to you guys, we should stop spreading false news and stop creating false impression to the people. We are journalists and our responsibility is to inform the public what is right.”

Yea. I should also add that players being considered must be less than 23 years old the first game week of the season. It's why someone like Harry Kane doesn't qualify even though he's also new to the league.

They do this rookie of the month thing too in the NBA.

Oga Kokmne, you are supporting Amuneke for expressing his mind but attacking Nigerians that voted for their choice candidates for observing their civic rights.

Pls what thieving politicians got to do with Osimhen and Salah CAF APOTY.

Yes Nigerians are disappointed with Amuneke cuz he gave Osimhen his first breakthrough so they are not expecting anything less.

Really I wasn’t disappointed cuz Amuneke is human and has every right to pick his choice,so nothing new but Nigerians will not forgive him easily.

It depends on what the standard is in the Portuguese league. Some leagues could go as low as 21 yrs and there are cases (only seen this in the WNBA) where age isn't a factor as long as it's your first time. So a 30 yr old could potentially win the rookie award. Traditionally though rookie award is for young adults.

These are issues and it affect one’s life if one failed to accept that am wrong.

I will not deceive you I didn’t rated Taribo West but he proved me wrong. In the mid to late 80s I thought Siasia should be our CF ahead of Yekini but I got it wrongly.

Yes not rating player at his formative ages should not be an issue but one must accept that Oh I got it wrong if such player becomes good.

I just don't understand this recent idea of always assessing a player solely on where he plays. This is so simplistic and very misleading.

We are talking about the AFCON for God's sake where a lot of other countries will be presenting players from various leagues in Africa! Not as if our opponents are bringing players from real Madrid or Barca so I don't see the reason why someone playing for Orlando Pirates can't make the team.

The Egyptian team that won back to back Afcon titles doesn't have a large number of players playing in Europe.

It's simplistic to display ignorance and present it as intelligence.

Simply put the best players end up in the best teams Ceteris paribus.
