This is one reason I will like d gud master komekn to erase, sometimes the best doesn’t always win d race.

I could remember when I was at Ikolaba a particular sets of students will sweep all d award for best performance in subjects, neatness and so many others but today some of them are still in search of admission while some are into apprenticeship.

Therefore the best doesn’t always get d best.

Time and tide is a decider

In football the best and most gifted players don't have to work so hard to make IT. Therein lies the Achilles heel of such players. Players that come to mind like that are Taraabt, Ravel Morrison, Robinho, Balotelli, etc

However, the players who are exceptional are those that add discipline, diligence, hard work, drive to get better and better, with a resilient mentality make it to the top.

Sometimes less naturally gifted players carve out exceptional careers from adversity by sheer determination hard work and a desire to improve. Ngole Kante comes to mind in this regard.

But sir, d period under review for d award of APOTY, does Osimhen deserves it or Salah. I am not particularly bothered about the rate of consistency of Salah in d EPL, after all if consistency is employed Salah too should be rated for ballon d’or abi whatever it is called.

The award strictly looks at 2022/23 season not before or after.

In this regard VO deserves it more, top goal scorer Seria A plus his team won their first league title in donkey years.

What did Salah achieve last season not much of anything

An italian journo asked Leo, Osimhen, Dilorenzo, Lobotska, and Maignan who is the best Seria A player last season.
All selected Osimhen except his two teammates.
I do think that is what should be trending not Amunuke's ...

Now I know why Osimhen does not acknowledge them in his speech!

Osimhen is nothing short of an enigma not just surviving such hostile environment but going on to becoming the 8th best player in the world and the best on the continent! Wow!

How does he cope? No parents, hateful media, jealous teammates etc. How?

Osimhen is not an ordinary chap. Akanda omo ni! Awon agba nikan lo maye!!

This is just the beginning for him!

Our support means a lot to him! You could see he appreciate it a lot but mentioning Nigerians many times in his speech!
Osimhen you shall never go down in Jesus name! Amen!!

A very big Amen to this!

You must be forking mad. What kind of bullying is this? So, everyone should say that osimehn is the best player? People aren’t entitled to their feelings or choice

Come on man. Your own teammates? Just like Sergio Ramos or Marcelo being asked between Messi and Ronaldo back in 2013/2014 and saying Messi. Dressing room never scatter like that? Even Dimaria that was teammates with both of them had to be diplomatic with his reply. If they've moved on or retired now it's another thing. Like the way Rooney Changed tune about Ororo after his (Rooney's) retirement

One good thing about being a Nigerian is that whenever we unite to pursue an agenda, the result is always quick and positive.

Fabrizio Romano is feeling the heat already. Meanwhile, congratulations to David Ornstein.

Why don't you give him the benefit of the doubt and believe him. He said because he is Nigerian, he was asked to choose between Salah and Hakimi. And he chose Salah given that he has relationship with Egypt.

Why take the negative view? Is this not a perpetuation of the 'village people' mindset?

AMUNEKE RESPONDS STRONGLY TO BARRAGE OF CRITICISMS ON CHOICE OF SALAH OVER OSIMHEN

“Good morning house, I want to use this opportunity to clear what some of you are saying in this platform. With all due respect to every one of you that I owe with high regard.

First of all, I want you to understand the rumours that you guys are [spreading] concerning me not voting Osimhen. I was never elected to vote.

On our way to the novelty game that we played in Marrakech here, a former player and captain of the Egyptian national team - who is preparing himself to become a TV producer in Egypt – with his group, he was debating on the Arabian team and he raised the question between Hakimi and Salah.

There was time Osimhen was mentioned in that discussion. He came to me and asked ‘Hakimi or Salah’. I have to say Salah. And the reason why I said Salah was because I played in Egypt and I lived in Egypt and I know some of the guys there.

So, there is nothing like voting against Osimhen. Osimhen is our player and our boy. We are happy about what he has achieved and we hope he would continue to dream and achieve more for the betterment of his career and the betterment of Nigeria.

It has come a time in our culture in Nigeria – with all due respect to you guys, we should stop spreading false news and stop creating false impression to the people. We are journalists and our responsibility is to inform the public what is right.”

Amuneke said on Nigerian Sports Village Square moderated by veteran journalist @osasuo.
This makes more sense.

I chose to believe this explanation.

There is no way Amuneke would have voted against Osimhen publicly, a player he was like a father to,that's what I kept wondering.
Is always good to wait for a full story before passing judgement.
I believe most Nigerians will accept his explanations and die the matter

Nigerians are angry he didn't post anything about CAF awards we won yesterday. So, he is contesting for the best digital journalist award alongside some journalist but notably, David Ornstein. Since the vote is public, Nigerians have vowed not to vote for him but for David Ornstein.
Fab apologized and later made a post. He is now back in contention. Just roughly 3% behind David.
