Hello Gurus,

I received an ITA in the last STEM draw, just a month after submitting my application.

Here's my dilemma: my Naira account, where I've been receiving my salary for the past six months, doesn't have enough to cover the POF. I'm considering liquidating my stocks in Bamboo and transferring the amount to my account. Alongside, I plan to attach a Letter of Explanation (LOE) to account for this large deposit.

However, my agent is advising against this move, suggesting instead that I open an investment account and deposit the funds there. This approach is quite new to me.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on this matter. Has anyone had a similar experience or suggestions?

Do exactly as you plan to do. Also I have no idea why you need an agent considering the wealth of resources here.

You can do a mutual fund.. doesn’t matter when it was opened.. the reference and statement just shows how much is in it and who owns it.. my sister used it and no questions were asked.

@mrBnet why don't you sell the shares, leave the balance in your bamboo and request an account statement from bamboo? The money will be there in dollars and you won't have to worry about exchange rates.

Editing my response: mercifull has a very valid point - don't suffer FX losses.

Hey guys, and especially people that have used BCS certificate for two or more qualifications, please is there a paper or pdf certificate for the BCS level 4 certificate in IT? I am trying to get the credential assessed by WES but in the attached picture, they've asked for a final certificate which I don't have. Just need to know if/how I can get it. Thank you.

There is a final certificate. In our case, my husband had BCS physically mail it to a friend in the UK and then she had it scanned and sent a digital copy to us and that was sufficient for us to proceed with the evaluation. Others might have used more straightforward options so wait for more responses.

Hi everyone, I just got asked a question and I will like to hear from others so I don’t make mistakes.
For the purposes of express entry this person got invited and filled in work experience as follows-
Oct 2020-sept 2021
Jan 2022-dec 2023(present job)
Based off this the system calculated as 36 months and the individual got invited during the last set of draws. Is a year of work experience jan-jan or jan-dec?

If it was my application, I would assume 1 year is 52 weeks or 12 months......meaning 1 Jan to 31 Dec......... but there is no allowance for day in the portal so I would assume Jan to Dec is a year.

Also looking at this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers.html#skilled

IRCC says: at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week). 1,560 divided by 30 hours of full time work per week is 52 weeks, which to me is Jan to Dec.

Thank you very much

Her experiences are October 2020- September 2021 and January 2022-December 2023. She said she’s hearing January to January is one year so by implication her work experience isn’t 36 months because it’s not January 2024 yet and she should decline, I told her to hold on. I want to believe the system won’t calculate a wrong thing.

To be honest, it's a hard one.

Looks to me like the system is wired to calculate 1 year based on Jan to Dec, if it was wired to do Jan to Jan it wouldn't have calculated the CRS to give her ITA....that's my thinking and I could be wrong.

What's this person's CRS and which draw gave them ITA? If they are French or PNP or Healthcare, Agric then they will likely have more draws very soon and it may be safe to reject, but otherwise........

In the past I think what some people have done is submit i.e. get AOR after a "safe date" in this case she submits when it's 3 years according to the applicant's manual calculation (i.e. 8 Jan to 8 Jan)

Based on this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/assessing-electronic-application-on-section-a11-2.html

If the ITA is from a general draw, I would go ahead and accept the ITA and submit sometime in early Feb, if it were me, my comfort is that I meet the CRS as at AOR and meet the MEC (minimum conditions) at both ITA and AOR. Emphasis: the CRS column on the right. The rules for CBD draws are different but are also in the link so it depends on the draw that got the person ITA.

Let the person go ahead with what they are comfortable with.

You just articulated my thoughts, I told her to wait till early February to submit, just incase of anything.
She got the ITA from the stem occupations draw that held last week with cut off of 481.
