Ofunaofu: The moderator said it was fake news because of one mistake I made with the numbers. It should be trillions in Naira not billions in dollars. I don’t think that’s enough to close a thread which is otherwise factual 21 Likes 3 Shares |

Nigerian governors need to do better. Most of them just sit and wait for monthly FG allowances without any drive at all on how to grow their economies and IGR |

I didn't download and go through the PDF file. So, could you give us an idea of the methodology used to arrive at this conclusion? I have repeatedly maintained that the only stats I trust in Nigeria are air traffic, crime rates and IGR. Everything else is based on questionable estimates. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Rivers, Delta, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, Oyo Enugu, Ondo and so many other states all belong to formal sector of the economy, while Anambra, Abia are control by informal economy, in my opinion informal economy benefit the citizens more than formal economy, informal economy enrich the citizens while formal economy enrich the state government more. 17 Likes 4 Shares |

BeautifulMind2: Anambra just started mining oil so it will take some time before the numbers start reflecting in their GDP. Unlike Imo, Anambra gas hasn’t been touched. Abia is working on a gas processing facility investment from what I heard from an insider. 17 Likes |

BeautifulMind2: I Disagree, it’s time to formalize everything in both Abia and Anambra. It affects investment decisions by investors. It’s time to leave 19th century thinking and enter 21st century. 10 Likes |

horsepower102:In real sense it benefit the citizens, Akwa Ibom with large GDP, you only see that in state government spending not the citizens, an average Anambra or Abia citizens control their GDP, that's why the government of Anambra and Abia are finding it difficult to generate more IGR, the citizens are far richer than the state government. Except both state formal sector grow to that of Lagos then they will have enough IGR to match up 10 Likes 3 Shares |

BeautifulMind2: GDP needs to be accurately captured. There are real consequences for informal economy. It affects investment drive. Maintaining informal economy will make you look less attractive to investors who don’t know much more than what they see on paper. 6 Likes |

horsepower102: Which authority converted to naira? GDP is usually computed in US $, moreover, IMF put Lagos GDP at over $120bn as at last year, but the shows much less in naira. The total GDP for Nigeria according to International bodies is over $400bn, but the table shows much less, you guys should stop misleading the public with your false stats. 4 Likes 2 Shares |
