All these indictments would mean nothing if Buhari is not indicted also. Was he not privy to all of Emefiele's supposed wrongdoings? They are looking for whom to blame for their failures and Emefiele is a good picking.

You people should just stop complaining and work. You wanted power and you've gotten it, so just fix what needs to be fixed so that Nigerians can have a breath of fresh air. This government seems more like a government of propaganda already. And to think they've even inflicted Nigerians with the highest form of pain and anguish with slapdash policies makes their complaints unjustified. Emefiele and other top officials of the past government who were accomplices should be punished if all these accusations are true. Please, let Nigerians rest with complaints that won't benefit them.

I can understand it's a crime buying the banks (or anything else for that matter) from ill-gotten wealth.
However what I need clarification for is this: is it ethically or legally wrong to buy a bank in distress if you are the CBN Governor, assuming you plan to follow due process?

Yes, it's wrong

Imagine what an Emefiole president

Can actually do in four years

Having already railroad the cabals to

Support his candidacy.

Conflict of interest, I agree sha. But it just doesn't seem fair that for instance I'll see a massive opportunity to buy a company I've been wanting to buy for ages, but because I'm now the CBN Governor I cannot buy it even if i want to follow due process.

I also read the write-up and could not see a direct link between the acquisitions and Emefiele.
It is fair. You're the CBN gov making you the regulator of banks. Imagine the regulator owning a bank. What do you think will happen to that bank? Won't it be favored above all others?
It's same everywhere all over the world. Only NNPCL had that kind of madness and they've changed it even though operation- wise it did not change.

Is it Emefiele who carried out this horrific act alone undecided why is the cash scarcity resurfacing exact time it started last year even though we now have a new CBN Gov the PBAT administration made us believe that it was Emefiele who was hoarding cash to cause the cash scarcity. Is Emefiele still there as we speak It is high time we need to start questioning the obvious undecided

superlanny:
Emefiele is a product of the corrupt system and type of governance a good number of Nigerians have come to enjoy, protect and adore.

A system that enriches the few politicians and make the masses poorer. A system that encourages disregard for the rue of law by both the elite and judicial apparatus.

A system that is rotten to the core and seriously in danger of collapse.

A system that pushes its citizens to seek better opportunities abroad rather than stay to suffer and die in the leadership of the clueless morons that have being leading us from time immemorial. Nigeria is f*cked and will continue to be for a longtime. It didn't start with Elfiemele and he definitely won't be the last.

I come in peace, don't waste time mentioning me I rarely reply. Cheers

You said the truth. Emefiele got in, found out he could steal without restraint and doubled down on that effort. No principles like many Nigerians who'd do same if they find themselves in same position.

It is ethically wrong. It is like a referee officiating a match in which he has a (potential) stake in one of the teams.
The other team will always cry foul, understandably.

The government is not complaining, they are just exposing your criminal brothers' level of financial atrocities committed against the country. Or should they just sweep it under the carpet and not say anything about it?

The igbos who migrated from the delta region of the old country remain the thorn in the flesh of Nigeria. Give them any position they will use it to bleed the nation to death. Such is an example of Emefiele. I remember that man who was sold out to this nation as the Elupee candidate, how he used the state fund to establish a bank and boom he is a rich man. What a shame on a region who only knows how to package fake products into our borders. Tragedy of the red cap men

Does saying it out automatically prosecute him and his accomplices? Or does the media? Is he still the CBN governor that makes fiscal and monetary policies? Aren't you aware of people groaning about cash crunch and business failing due to bad policies? Emefiele and his cronies should be prosecuted if guilty and not all these media trial. Still be reminded that this government has impoverished a lot of Nigerians due to their policies.
