But Tinubu said Buhari did well and he will continue from where he stopped.

Confused APC, Tinubu is praising Buhari but his supporters are blaming him.

ReubenE:

While our linear source of income is true, why do y'all keep deceiving yourselves with thin revenue and Nigeria excuse.

With all the monies they steal and especially the billions they over budget for frivolities are not enough to run a healthy country.
Has it not become clear to you and others that more money in Nigeria is simply more money made available for stealing and indulging in frivolous activities?

Your submission is full of excuses for and against the criminal structure in our political system so I don't even understand what is your point exactly. Diversification and other beautiful speeches are not the prime problem of Nigeria, it is CORRUPTION, simple.
We have more Nigerians doing everything for themselves so Nigeria has more than enough resources to run a healthy country despite oil being the major source of our earnings.

In your third paragraph, are you inferring Nigeria is not industrialized because there is not enough money? You are absolutely wrong.
Furthermore, you are against concentration at the centre and you are against federalism, what exactly do you want then?

About your last paragraph, you are against division too since you somehow prophetically see the larger Nigeria character in the smaller new countries. Is it that Nigerians are doomed to fail in governing themselves?

Your opinion about corruption (stealing) is what I think you should concentrate on. The industrialized countries you referenced that suffered to get to where they are, it is because they toned down the lifestyle of stealing and developed the habit of obedience to law, that gave those countries resources breathing space to maximize growth. The talk of diversification is merely a beautiful talk as long as stealing culture is entrenched in our political life. If that is not taken care of, stop welfarism that you seem to be so much against from all of your posts I have seen in months, we are still not going anywhere.

Sidenote: Nigeria has spent cumulative resources that are enough to build 5 brand new refineries in turn around maintenance in the last 20 years. Yet none of them are working... Juxtapose that with with what you said and consider if welfarism is our problem

Dont you think that our thin revenue is an indictment of the current government and party.?

I fail to see any self deciet

The current hardship we are experiencing IS very simple. We are trying to build a welfare economy on a thin revenue base. We are trying to use one source of income to pay for something that needs twenty sources or more of income to pay for.

Nigeria has always been in economic crisis ever since I was a child....and everytime all the experts said the same thing...we rely on one source of income and we need to diversify. The truth is, every Nigerian leader does patch patch because the alternative involves severe economic hardship.

Industrialization would help us grow very well. Very well. But the truth is, all industrial countries went through hardship to get to developed state...whether UK, Russia, South Korea, Japan, etc...all went through hardship to get there. So we pretend the money is enough and stealing commenceth.

Yes, corruption. Tinubu is corrupt, so also all the predecessor governments before him (remember the ten percenters of Nzeogwu's speech. They never went away...they are still there). Because when you run an economy like Nigeria where the division of revenue is controlled at one spot...and no, true federalisim won't change that...the stealing by those close to the division of funds is going to happen. It does not matter which government we put there, stealing will happen. Add the fact that Nigerians just want their side to take over, and control the looting...which is why we cannot have anyone holding government to account at all...and here we are.

And God knows if we divide Nigeria, we would end up with little Nigerias....all of them as corrupt as each other.

We better change ourselves.

I love your report, the ONLY thing I disagree with you there is that you still have hope for nigeria but you still said there is no hope which is actually the truth just that you don't want to accept it, I think that it will be a little better to have those little little Nigerias, that way more people will get nearer to that sharing, but I know not every part will end up like nigeria, because not all parts were functioning like nigeria before we were forced and lumped together,

“I really don’t understand it. Isn’t that an irony? In fact, Obi, the number three, even seemed to be contesting the result more than the number two man. Have you ever heard that before? I am talking about someone who came far third now claiming to have won the election. Well, it is only in Nigeria that you can have such a thing”. The words of Baba Ajomale.

Painfully the older you get in APC, the more sophisticated and brazen you get as a liar. This lying elderly man deliberately refused to mention that Hope Uzodimma broke the record with the Supreme Court, when he came fourth in the election and yet was imposed as the governor, using technicalities. Shame on APC and its supporters.

Thank u my brother

Racoon:
"The Buhari that came to power roughly eight years ago was packaged as someone who had it in him to exercise the self-restraints necessary to administer a dysfunctional country like Nigeria. For a benighted nation, the thought of having a president with integrity and self-discipline was alluring. No thanks to Buhari and his legendary incompetence, we now know better.

Meanwhile, the same people who packaged his myth are back in the market. Now they are promising that 2023 will bring “renewed hope.” We have moved from the taglines of ‘integrity’ and ‘anti-corruption’ to “builder of city” and “builder of men.”

That is how they will tell you that another messiah is on the way until somewhere down the line when the scam will unravel, first, through the failures of such leader; and second, through the person’s garrulous admission that none of what they told you was ever true.

This is hypocrisy at the highest level. Jonathan didn't pass the buck of subsidy removal according to you. He actually removed it at the beginning of year 2012 but the duo of Tinubu and Tunde Bakare forced him to reverse the decision using the Occupy Nigeria Protest. If he was allowed then the stability you mentioned would have been long achieved before now.

Secondly, I am shocked to hear you talk about Buhari PATCHING things up during his regime. Why didn't you voice this out then? All of you in the ANC sect of APC kept mute then because of Tinubu's ambition. This is really painful and it makes me take the PATIENCE you are rallying for this government detestable as it might be another ruse.

Make we divide the country first. U have not divided it but u can tell what it would become. That is rubbish. The so called big Nigeria that we have has never worked for over 60 years. Only a f$ol keeps doing same thing over and over again and expecta different result.

Let me tell u what a breakup or regional system can do for Nigeria.
Currently, Nigeria is managed from Abuja and the president has so much power. This makes the election wack and all do or die affair to ensure that an ethnic group rules and become the baba of all the other ethnic groups.
In situation like this, we produce wack leaders just to please ethnic sentiments.
Separation will solve that. It is on record that the most successful countries are nations and not states. U can google the meaning of nation and state in political scienece.
Number 2, protest is a core part of fixing any country. The sad reality is that u cant protest in Nigeria. If as an Igbo guy, u protest under a Yoruba govt, u would be tagged 'An Igbo man trying to destroy Yoruba govt'. If u have a democracy and people cant hold the govt accountable, it is a mess then. All the countries that are developed today, their citizens are free to protest no matter how bloody the protest turns. Go and read about the french protests, the English protests, the Japanese protests, etc.
No one sees it as on ethnic group trying to remove another ethnic group in those countries becus they are one ethnic group.
In Nigeria protest is hard. U would be tagged an enemy of the ruling ethnic group.
Portests help govt to adjust and understand the pains of the masses.
In Nigeria, labour union is dead, pressure groups are dead, opposition cant bark, etc. Why? Because ethnic sentiment would be attach to anything u do to question the ruling ethnic group.
The same ethnic sentiment is applied in EFCC and their likes.
So, breakup Nigeria or run regional govt will fix this. A very good example is the UK model. It would work well for Nigeria. Allow the existing regions run like an independent nations just like Scotland, Wales, England and Ireland in the UK.

Breaking up or returning to regional government won't solve anything

1.You would have the same small Nigerias...a elite controlling how revenues are shared. That's the issue with Biafra and indeed with other regions.

2.You would have one big tribe dominating other tribes. Issues would result (That's a big reason why we have states...and also it is something that affects other African countries eg Uganda).

The only way a region could work, or indeed a separate country...is the government mandating that every LGA funds itself, every state within funds itself...from taxes. Our tax to gdp nationally is a disgrace, at state level it is even worse. But that would lead to protests and riots.

Read the points I read, that answers your point. People can freely protest without attaching it to ethnicity. There is a reason why countries that are nation are the most successful in the world where countries that are states are the worse in the world.
It is a fact. So, what u are saying here is mere say. Once the people can protest freely, a lot of issues have been fixed.

No country with more than 2 dominant ethnic groups fussed together in one country has been able to do well.

Well, the first step is to divide the British slave plantation.
Then, responsibility will now be on the emerging nations; to fail or prosper, we now begin to carry our load by ourselves.
