Secondly, the blame will still be on you if you're very conversant with the way bank transfer are done via the ATM whereby the details of the beneficiary will never be displayed when making a transfer to them as the only face saving grace is if the wrong account number you sent to him doesn't belong to the same bank as yours.

Before you castigate me, please hear me out.

Mistakes are normal for humans to make but if the government strengthens our financial institutions there won't be someone taking someone else money and spending it comfortably.

In Europe for instance all you need to do is contact your bank and they do the rest the wrong receiver would not even spend it because he or she is scared of the fact that you can not run away your details are linked everywhere from your health to your bank to your address to your shopping and so on.

If the government is serious everybody will know.

It's like you give someone N2 million to deposit in an account .... the person doesn't count the money and later there is a problem... it is N100K short because you made a mistake. Would you blame him partially because he didn't count the money?... and dish him a few fist cuffs if he doesn't admit?

God knows if you mistakenly send money to my account I will not refund it. That sender dey mad. You'll tell me why you never confirmed an account number before sending out money.

when the source of a problem is made non-existent, there won't be any problem anymore.

So, the fault fully lies with the OP for forwarding inaccurate details at the first instance. If the right details were to be forwarded initially, the accompanying error wouldn't have happened at all.

The money sender shares the fault too, buhh the main fault lies with the OP, because he's the source of the mistake.

Exactly what I did with a colleague. We, some colleagues and I, made some deal at work and the proceeds came directly to my account. l was to disburse the money so they all dropped their details. When it got to the turn of this particular person, I discovered the name didn't tally. I sent for her to confirm if that was deliberate or an error, it turned out it was a mistake. Under normal circumstances, the account name should appear below the account number and the bank before, if it did not tally the name will not appear ,transaction cannot be authorized, the
sender ought to verify before authorisation.
Simply put the transaction cannot be fully effected because of the disparity in name ,bank and account number
