1. Go to your preferred bank and ask them to open a Euro domiciliary account for you.
2. Find out the necessary documents you need to provide to open such account from the bank (different banks can request for different stuff)
3. Once your domiciliary euro account has been created, convert the BA money you're saving in Naira to Euro

You can buy Euros from:

- BDC guys
- Aboki
- Fintech Apps like Grey,
- From a trusted family/friend residing in Europe (you can transfer your naira to their Nigerian naira account and they'll, in turn, send the euro equivalent to your domicillary account.)
- Other means...

The koko is to convert that BA money you're saving in naira to Euro as fast as possible. (You don't even need to have your complete BA money before you start saving in Euro)

4. Now that you have Euro, transfer that money to your domiciliary account.
5. Once you've gotten AD, fund your BA from your Euro domiciliary account with ease.

Thanks for the reply.

So what's the benefit of keeping/saving the Euro with the bank vs if I just left the money on the fintech app I bought it?

I have the same problem, how did you go about it?

You have to get an affidavit from a High court with seal/ stamp that will state all the names on those certificates are yours

Ausbildung is a full time occupation and as student you can't work full time because your student work permit doesn't allow that. to do Ausbildung, you finish your studies, get your 18 months job search permit. with it you can do the Ausbildung.

No, with the new immigration law in place for the past two years, he can switch to an Ausbildung, provided he has B1/B2 proficiency. An Ausbildung isn't solely full-time work; you also have to attend classes.

Good day house pls I have a question... assuming I travel to Germany on a study visa and then like 4 or 6 months after I get there I decide to switch to Ausbildung, is it possible to do that without having to come back to Nigeria to apply for Ausbildung again?...your answers are much appreciated in advance.

Yes, you can and you don’t have to come back to Nigeria.

Good day all, I’ve been on the internet searching for schools for PhD in social work Germany but I don’t understand why their site is upside down in my eyes .
Please does anyone have a link I can use?

Their site is not upside down. It's one of the best structured site I have ever seen. And if you are going for a PhD, you can contact professors and postdoc directly for a position in their establishment. Google is also your best friend. Best of luck.

Hello..
I occasionally save money in Piggyvest, but I just realised they charge a whopping $20 to transfer anything from $150 - $10000

Do you know any cheaper alternatives in dollars?
Given it's readily available than Euros and it will be less stressful than opening a domicillary account.
And with this alternative I should be able to send money directly to Fintiba or Expatrio directly (with minimal or no charges)

It's pretty much same thing. You have to figure out for yourself which one is less expensive & better option for you. With fintech, they might charge more to convert your Naira to Euro. If you use BDC or Aboki you might even get a better rate than what fintech could offer.

Well, fintech app is seamless and it removes the stress of having to find exchangers. However, if you already have one, you most likely will get better rate from them cos you can negotiate for better rate.

Just compare and contrast and go with the less expensive and best for you.

Well, I'm not using Fintech to save mine. I prefer opening a domiciliary account once and be done with it. Perhaps you can buy USDT on Binance if you are into crypto. You can also check out Abokifix guys, they have a fintech app called Grey.

Congratulations chief. All documents must be submitted in original and with two set of photocopies. The original will be returned after the procedure has been completed.

1. You will download two fully completed application forms, and declaration forms too signed it.
2. Two recent biometric passport photos (size 35 x 45mm)
3. A valid and signed passport and already expired passports
4. Birth certificate
5. WAEC Certificate
6. Detailed computer-written curriculum vitae
7. written and personally signed letter of motivation
8. Admission from a German university
9. Enrolment in the language course
10. Proof of funding ( block account or obligation letter )
11. Prepaid return envelope

NB: I haven't gone for interview myself. The above listed documents was gotten from someone who has gone for his. People who have recently gone for interview can also respond on the needed document.

Please I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

*) When did you apply for your visa?
**) The start date for your program is quite far from January. Did you get admission this year and defer it for the Winter semester in 2024 ?

I thought Grey it's just for buying stuffs online with its dollar card eg on AliExpress..
Also does that mean Grey is like an Aboki platform if that makes any sense..
I don't even know what BDC means.

The main goal for me is to be able send money to the blocked account directly with minimal charges.
If I keep using Piggyvest, then at some point I'd have to convert my dollars to Naira, then buy Euros to fund my BA..
But if I can find a way to convert my dollars directly to Euros that will be in my BA, I'd love that.

Grey is just like how PiggyVest. You can convert your naira to euro directly on Grey, that I'm sure of. Converting your dollar to euro, I think you might have to use BDC or Aboki for that.

Nontheless, you should be able to pay your BA with dollar. The platform you use to block your BA money will handle the conversion to Euro themselves; so long as you paid the dollar equivalent of the needed euro (I'm not so sure.. so verify)

Only Primary certificate. The others are your university requirement and not embassy. The list of required documents are on the Germany embassy Lagos Website too!

Good day guys,

Please I have an interview early January but enrollment is for October 2024, I don’t have a blocked account but my sister works in Germany. She’s currently on probation until April, by April, she will be able to get that sponsorship letter.

Can I tell the embassy that I will provide the sponsorship letter by April?

I don’t want to hold my funds, doing nothing for almost a year with the blocked account

I guess the best thing to do. Let your sister help you get someone over there that can provide SL for you.

Go for the Interview. Tell them your proof of funds will be available in April. If they dont accept then they will give you 2weeks to provide it. Then you decide on what to do

Good day all,

As we enter into a new year, I would like to drop some advice here about career growth and opportunities in Germany.

If you are coming to Germany please have an open mind. It is possible to get Paid Professional English-speaking student jobs, whether internships or work-study (Werkstudent) in your field of study, contrary to what people may say. I am living proof. I have lived in Germany for almost 5 years now. First 2 years I did warehouse jobs. I could feel my body deteriorating due to stress, and I couldn’t continue living life that way so I decided to break barriers, long story short, I now have a professional full-time job and I don’t speak German fluently. I didn’t let that get in the way of my success.

Some advantages of professional student jobs:

- [ ] You are learning and getting experience in your field of study, thereby increasing your chances of getting a full-time job after graduation.
- [ ] It is an opportunity to integrate and expand your professional network
- [ ] You get paid anywhere from 850€ - 1,200€ monthly (net) and you can use the contract or payslips to extend your study visa.
- [ ] You are not compromising on your health.

And yes, companies in Germany hire Nigerian students but you need to be consistent in your search and have a resume that stands out to make that application. This is where some miss it. Your resume and cover letter are what gets you seen and one step in, make it count!

If you need assistance with writing and enhancing your resume & cover letter send an email to resumeguide.space@gmail.com or follow @resumeguide.space on Instagram.

Good luck and I wish you guys all the best in 2024!
