Not only was he awarded a degree, he was also mobilised and participated in the NYSC scheme again, despite having served previously in 2018. The story of obtaining questionable degree certificates from universities in Benin Republic and Togo is not new. What is new, however, is how these certificates can be obtained with ease and speed. |

In as much as African mantra still remains to make money at any cost, the continent will continue to decay. This is an excerpt from the late Mr Emmanuel Ejiwere, the former ICAN chairman speech "What I would advise people to do is to seek happiness and not money. When you chase money to a large extent, you would lose happiness and money does not necessarily give you happiness" Let's start using this as our watchword globally, MONEY shouldn't be EVERYTHING |

So you see? Sacking two hungry policemen will solve nothing. This thing goes deeep. We don't even have a value system here. Everybody for this country suppose get town hall meeting make we talk exactly wetin be our problem. I wish his face was blurred though |

I find it laughable that someone will leave Nigeria to go study in Benin or Togo. Except learning the French language, what else do they have to offer that's of more standard than our universities? |

And in less than a month or two, one can be a ‘graduate’ from any of the mushroom universities dotted across the two West African countries.Stupid journalism. If giving a certificate in 6 wks make all west african schools mushroom, what do we say about Nigeria where you can have same without waiting for six weeks? The speed with which these bastardized govt university elements generalize negativity against non-government owned schools is getting out of hand. LASU was bursted not long ago by DSS and here an excerpt from the report in case we have forgotten. “The certificate racketeering syndicate has genuine Lagos State University certificates that anyone interested can purchase for between N2 million and N3 million, depending on the technicality of the course involved,” one of the sources had said. |

PinkNature:You mean your schools where they sell certs directly without waiting for six week. If you want t generalize please do it evenly for Nigerian and non Nigerian schools. Don't let the inferiority complex get the best of you Mr man. |

This needs to be on front page. Some employers will now consider this type of candidates ahead of graduates that went through Nigerian system |

RepoMan007:Why are you pained? Nigerian public schools have their shortcomings. But it's difficult to get certificate without attending. It's possible to have those who fake the certificate of others. I have come across several Cotonou "graduates". Most of them know close to nothing in what they claimed to study. Afterall, most of them only opt for those universities either because they fail to cope in normal universities or they want to get a certificate within a short period. |
| Re: Nigerian Reporter Bags Cotonou University Degree in 6 Weeks by RepoMan007: 9:20pm On Dec 30, 2023 |
U09ce:Use your brain. I have equally come across several Nigerian graduated who know nothing and not even your close to nothing. The way yo guys with perpetual inferiority complex are generalizing this thing is disgraceful. I am sure a lot of Nigerian influence will be in the racket doing this 6 weeks cert stuff. |

RepoMan007:And they don't sell certs in Togo or Benin? can you state the correlation between our conversation and inferiority complex? Nigerian universities are ranked higher than universities in Benin and Togo. |

Back in Uni, that's how we had one Olodo Contractor as a course mate. You will never see him in class except for tests & exams. We had course mates who would always go and sit around him for tests & exams to provide Expo support. He will settle lecturers and whoever needs to be settled. That's how he graduated. Years later, just to hear that he was awarded honorary PhD by one of these Cotonou universities. I jus laff ![]() Sorry to say but indiscipline & corruption don see Nigeria finish. |

Corruption is Nigeria biggest enemy. I don't think we can eradicate this menace with the current system we have in place. 90% of Nigerians are corrupt, but we only make noise when a "scape goat" gets caught. I'm not surprised by this write up at all, it's the normal thing every where in the country. You can literally get anything in the country if you know your way. YES. Even become the president. I lost hope in Nigeria, when Tinubu contested and won the presidential election. I will always refer to the Bullion Van story. It's sick and saddening to a sane person. We need to come together to set a TRUE standard or system before Nigeria can move forward. Truth exalts a nation, not corruption. SMH |

I’m just glad I’m all of its weakness, the NMCN was able to strongly reject certificates from Cotonou! 😏 The craze for BNSC then drove many into desperate mode. |
