Hard to choose my best Xmen movie

X-Men: Days of Future Past: 9/10
I first watched this in 2014, back when I was more interested in action sequences, and at that time I didn't really enjoy it.
Rewatched yesterday, and now I personally regard it as the best X-Men movie and one of the best superhero movie of all time

Lol, just realised I suffered a brainfart somewhat. 😂😂 I've actually watched Pulp Fiction last year. I was confusing it with Fight Club. 😭😭

Same. I've downloaded the Godfather trilogy films for over 3 months now but I'm yet to watch them. Planned on watching Spielberg's Color Purple this year before the musical adaptation for this year. Seems that will be moved onto next year. Same as Scarface, and Carlito's Way.

This Viva Cinemas Ikeja no be serious company walahi.... For days now I've been trying to get their official website so I can see their screenings and probably book tickets and make plans and finally decide which film I wish to see. But for where.

The site I saw ain't working. No active IG page. Last I saw semblance of activity is months ago like September/October. 🤦🏽‍♂️ How dem wan take make money sef. 😐

X2 still remains by number one followed by Days of the Future Past. While First Class is the better movie and should take the 3rd spot, Last Stand is closer to my heart.

End of Year Movie

- Howl's Moving Castle (2004)

Started the year with Ghibli (Spirited Away), ending the year with Ghibli.
This also brings to completion my watchfest of the Ghibli movie catalogue, almost. I don't really have any interest in watching Tales From Earthsea and Ocean Waves. And then of course, there's The Boy and the Heron coming to international audiences in 2024, but I digress.

Ending the year with Howl's fantastical story to match starting the year with Spirited's fantastical story is not exactly a theme I planned but now that I realize it, I do appreciate this unintended touch.

I don't really see a better way to enter the New Year than laughing my heart to some brutal Ricky Gervais comedy.

I'm facing the same problem too.

Viva is the nearest cinema to my location and their website is down plus zero activity on their socials since October.

You'd think the business closed down but if you visit their cinema, you will find it fully functional.
They are showing movies everyday but since website dey down, you can't book tickets online or check the daily movie schedule.

My brother went to see Aquaman 2 last week, he had to go to the cinema to check the schedule and then hang around the mall for hours waiting for the time movie starts.

Ordinary schedule he would have checked online if their website and socials were up and running.

I'm not ready for that stress. Any movie I plan to see sooner than later will have to wait.

Saltburn 2023

Trigger warning : don’t watch while eating or after a meal.
I didn’t think much could surprise me after watching the peach scene in call me be your name, 2017 but this was a discovery. It tested the limits of my imagination.

I can’t even rate because I am unsure what to rate it.

Finished the year watching Beetlejuice (1988)
This movie is a weird masterpiece of Tim Burton. The fast pace and just an hour 45 minutes makes it an enjoyable watch with no breaks in funny moments

The bolded is the stupid stress I don't want to put on myself. Of course I know the Cinema is fully functional everyday, I pass there at times. I just need to be sure of their schedule and don't want to hang around carelessly for hours in the mall just to see the movie.
It's the closest to me too. I can also access the ICM Silverbird Cinemas but it's slightly farther from me and I don't like the hustle and bustle around that place.

Only the traffic I experienced on Saturday at Ikeja while coming from work on the Island I nearly shed tears. The traffic even stressed me and battered my body more than shooting the whole day. Place wey I suppose pass in 3 minutes turn to something of over 45mins. Crossing 3rd mainland no long reach am sef.

I liked the ease of my schedule and even had time to get snacks to eat closeby before my screening time when I patronised the cinema in 2022. I went on a weekday and reached the theatre early, 30 mins before the schedule, I wan craze. That 30 mins looked like hours and I had to lurk around a bit before showtime.
Na that no stress I crave. Not me being swamped with work throughout December and loads of edit, make I come dey waste time for traffic or hanging around cinema before my time. No time.

The movie I'll like to watch sef I ain't seeing it in other Nigerian theatres. No "The Color Purple" showing. Only WONKA and Aquaman 2 and a bunch of Nollywood films.
I found a hack this night, using Google to check showtimes, but I don't know how accurate that shït is especially when an official site ain't working.
