Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a lady who got sentenced in 2016 for killing her mother with the help of her boyfriend (a man she met online) was released on Thursday, 28th of December after serving just 7 years out of a 10 year sentence.


She decided to kill her mother because her mother was physically abusive towards her and made her go through numerous medical procedures that she didn't need. She was a healthy child whose mother intentionally made sick.


In 2018, her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn was given a life sentence for first degree murder and an additional 25 years for armed criminal action. Prior to the murder, Nicholas never had any criminal records. He was clean.


Some journalists reported that one of the main reasons she was released was because she agreed to testify against her boyfriend, the very same man who helped her commit the crime.

Very correct. He needs proper psychological evaluation. Some years back, his lawyers tried getting the judge to re-label his crime as second degree murder, instead of first degree murder, because he was obviously manipulated into doing it but the judge refused.
