Happy new year everyone.
Landing gist

Left Ibadan to Lagos on the morning of December 31st. My kids were still asleep so I kissed them and cried heavily. I was going to really miss them. Lodged in an hotel close to the airport, slept a little, cried again, and finally left for the airport around 5pm with my husband.

We got to the first gate and they didn’t want to allow my husband in. We gave them what they wanted and he was allowed. Same also happened at the entrance.

Agricultural dept and quarantine asked what I had in my bag, they didn’t even allow me say anything before asking me to do end of the year for them. Sorted them and check in started.

I flew airfrance. The official asked for my enrollment letter, admission letter, and tuition receipt (I paid only deposit, showed them the receipt), was cleared to check in. Check in was very fast because I got there early. Collected my boarding pass and went to wait for preboarding at the new terminal. Said goodbye to my husband and proceeded.

Everything went smooth. We had a 30min delay and flight took off at exactly 12:00 on new year. Couldn’t eat their food. Landed in Paris after 5 hours….then something happened….I got lost.

So there was this guy, his family and two other ladies I hooked up with. Whilst waiting for our connecting flight, he decided to go find something to eat. He called his wife after about an hour and said he was lost and was trying to navigate. He called back and said he was at one gate but will need his boarding pass to cross. His wife couldn’t go because of their kids, she begged me to go. I did

Met up with him in less than 3mins, and that was where the wahala started. ‘Twas a one way in, I couldn’t go back. We went round the airport, and asked questions, but no one could understand or reply us well…even the immigration and security officers. Everyone spoke French

After about 3 hours of merry-go-rounding, including preboarding for a flight we didn’t need just so we could go out and connect through another door, took two trains and one bus, we were still lost. In my mind, I was like “my village people don finally catch me”. God so good, my connecting flight was still in 2hrs.

Finally met an official who could understand us a little but couldn’t speak. She snapped our pictures and was able to locate our other group. She kinda linked us up, and all of us connected.

We connected and touched down toronto. I was scared because I hadn’t paid my fees yet. We got there and immigration asked all of us to line up, collected our LOI together, printed our study permit, called our names, and asked us to form another line. There were just 3 CbBSA officers on seat, others were on holidays for the new year.

I already had my study permit at hand, and joined the queue. Got to my turn and was asked if I had meat, I said yes. Asked for the course I was studying, then she stamped my passport, wrote something on it and cleared me to go.

Waited again for my connecting flight to Halifax. Got to Halifax, cleared my boxes, couldn’t change money. Called my flat mate, ordered my taxi and got home.

I pray all of us here will have breath-taking testimonies very soon…in Jesus name

Happy new year everyone

Congratulations.

How was the experience on Airfrance because I am contemplating using the airline.

I will try not to go looking for anyone. Lol.

I tried booking but I keep seeing KLM on the Airfrance website and vice versa. Are they combining passengers or something? Also, no transit visa right? My friend suggested to use Lufthansa but the layover is over 6 hours and they arrive Toronto much later in the day.

Airfrance has a shorter layover and they arrive in the afternoon.

Yes, KLM and airfrance are like the same. I booked KLM but flew airfrance.

If you have just one stop over at CDG, you don’t need a transit visa

Dear All, Is it Normal for IRCC not to update my Bio-metrics after 2weeks o f Captured. I did d bio metrics since 19th December and has since not updated.. I have sent like 5 webforms. Has any 1 experience this before?

No. As long as you are switching inside Canada, simply change dli on the ircc website. But ensure you must have enrolled and actively studying at your first school that gave you the visa.
And you cannot be out of school for more than 5 months. So ensure that when you change dli, your new school must resume within next 4 months.
Hmmm, enrolling in the first DLI school won't work, because they will charge for the semester and that is a loss.

It's a chargeback. Did you use an agent ? Did you use a stolen credit card that got declined?
I noticed you applied sometime around March!! When did you submit this application? Request for GCMS note ASAP...

You didn't answer my query, have u previously applied for a visa around March?
You should get this kinda msg in regards.
This is in reference to your application for temporary residence.
You have an outstanding debt to the Crown of CAD $150.00 for previous Immigration service(s)
rendered.
Kindly contact Collection Services at 1-888-448-4426 or by email to: IRCC.FINDebtstotheCrown-
DettesalaCouronneFIN.IRCC@cic.gc.ca with application number
The processing of the current application or any future applications will be on hold until the debt is
cleared.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by gonegreen: 2:47pm On Jan 03
It is possible that your payment for the visa fee was declined or suspicious. The best thing to do at the moment is to apply for the GCMS note so that you can address it properly in your next application.

Anyone here going to Ottawa Algonquin college around march/April 2024.?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 4:01pm On Jan 03
Receiving a message stating "a debt to the crown" typically indicates that there is an outstanding debt you owe to the government. Contact them and ask for detailed information about the debt, including the nature of the debt, the amount owed, and any supporting documentation. After contacting them If you acknowledge the debt, discuss repayment options and pay. Then reapply.

I greet everyone here! Happy New Year to you all. Pls I need urgent help here. First of all, what is the different between Fleming College and Fleming College Toronto? My friend mistakenly paid money into Fleming College instead of Fleming College Toronto and the deadline for the first payment is on the 8th of January. What do you think can be done now? She has been calling school since no response till now

Very unfortunate the VO didn't issue you a PFL before issuing a refusal. Pls if you used an agent and have no access to your portal, confirm from your agent if a PFL was issued because we have seen in the past here whereby some people got a PFL for similar reason and shortly after submission of a satisfactory response, their PPR dropped.

If your agent confirms indeed that you weren't issued a PFL which is at the discretion of the VO, I will advise you treat the next application holistically and don't assume the only fault in your last refused application was this debit card issue.
