After the general elections, governorship elections took place in three states November 11th last year and governorship elections will take place in Edo and Ondo States this year. PDP won one state in November, APC won one clearly while SDP arguably won one (believing they'd retrieve their Kogi Yahaya Bello sponsored stolen mandate in court). How many votes did Labour Party garner across the three states? Did they come second in any? How are they then the main opposition party? I'd rather say Labour Party is a quadrennial - if not even an end of the year - party.

Leave them , they think one man and his group can build a party, LP is not yet ready for serious politics, even Obi will still leave the party before 2027 .

The same Kenneth Okonkwo was following Tinubu everywhere and left when Obi came into the picture thinking he would get appointment if obi wins.
Labouring in vain as usual. Kenneth is a Nollywoid politician and lawyer.

LP wants coalition with PDP but this Ibo man is using his mouth to pursue his Oga's boyfriends.

Atiku will still punish the Agulu coward for the nonsense this Kenneth just said

Who do you think will suffer? Peter Obi?

If you like remain docile

Na like this LP & PDP wan form coalition?

APC is the only party in Nigeria. No serious opposition at all. They fought themselves before election, they are still fighting till now.

I'm sure Tinubu has his 2027 election victory speech and 2031 handover note written already.

Obi is the only option?
What a delusional fool this retard is.

I might not know a lot, but one thing I know is that Obi, the religious fanatical conman will NEVER rule Nigeria.
This Okonkwo is nothing but another attention-seeking delusional slowpoke.

As a matter of fact, Namdi Kanu has a better chance of ruling than Obi and we all know that Kanu has a zero percent chance of that happening.

Is it me that will suffer? Obi get hin money, I get my own.

The crux of my post is that both Political parties are not serious. You wanna form a coalition but your members are more interested in attacking each other.

BTW, I never mentioned Obi. I'm more concerned about the parties involved.

LMAO. He can make reference to Wike vowing never to leave PDP but conveniently forgot to mention that the same "PitObi" he's championing today also vowed never to leave APGA.

That aside, LP hasn't even played "opposition" politics for up to 3yrs & they think they've arrived; if not for PDP & Atiku Abubakar especially, who brought Peter Obi to national consciousness, he would've have remained in political obscurity.

Finally, a party with only 1 governor & a handful of federal lawmakers cannot elevate itself to the height of "main opposition" in Nigeria; if we're to go by realities on ground, Atiku Abubakar & PDP are the leading opposition followed by others.

Kenneth Okonkwo is the former Spokesperson of the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council

PDP no longer exists in the political realm and minds of Nigerians.

I will keep on saying it, Obi is not the alternative option, he is the only option.

The only opposition today is both Obi & the Labour Party.

Labor Party cannot be a credible opposition because of Obi. Obi has no national appeal, he is only relevant regionally.

HOW DID THIS DUDE GRADUATE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA NSUKKA WITH A DEGREE IN LAW?

In his interview, he claimed that Tinubu copied Peter Obi's seven-point agenda from Peter Obi's manifesto. Tinubu released his renewed hope manifesto on 20th October 2022 while Peter Obi released a rushed document around 27th October 2022. So how did Tinubu copy Obi's manifesto?

Secondly, he argued that PDP "does not exist in the political realm of Nigeria as at today". This one is an obvious lie, because PDP is the main opposition party. Kenneth Okonkwo argued that Labour Party is the main opposition party.

How?

he further claimed that Peter Obi has the template to move the country from consumption to production. Peter Obi held the forte for 8 years in Anambra State. What is Anambra producting due to Peter Obi's influence?

On being asked if there are other forces to hold the opposition in Labour Party, he claimed that with Peter Obi in front, every one will fall in line. How come the 35 Labour Party representatives and their 9 senators did not reject their jumbo salaries, extra allowances for vacation and SUVs? Well, because Peter Obi was not on record to have rejected any SUV. Infact, Peter Obi was known to have warehoused Anambra State funds in a bank he had personal interests. He also invested state funds in his bank by purchasing shares.

Who does that?

Kenneth Okonkwo has jumped from PDP to APC to Labour Party. He defended Buhari, defended Tinubu and is now defending Obi. If he is not a political gigolo for his stomach, then I wonder what drives his lack of personal political stability. Because an ideologically-driven person would not jump from capitalists to progressives to socialists. It is like mixing whiskey, stout, energy drinks, beer and palmie and thinking the person would be sane. Kenneth Okonkwo would likely jump to another party before 2027; the only thing consistent about his political journey is his inconsistency.

He claims to be a lawyer and goes to Arise News to turn the law on its head to the applause of the ignorant Obidents: can he tell us which cases he has won in any court?

This guy is an indictment on the Faculty of Law of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Your comment appears out of tune with realities please.

Your first paragraph leaves one wondering if you are in tune with the actions and behavior of Nigerian politicians. I want to ask if you are not aware that Nigerian politicians generally copy each other. Who says that Tinubu did not see Obi’s manifesto, copied it and went to the press with it first.

Tinubu organized and coordinated strikes in 2014 to stop GEJ’s plan to end the fuel subsidy regime? The same Your Tinubu turned around to copy it and tell us that “subsidy is gone” on the first day.

If LP is not the present opposition party, what’s stopping SDP, NNPP and PDP from letting us hear their voices? How is it that Obi/LP have become the major threat to APC inspite of your claim?

Please read through your comment once again and make the necessary corrections, after proper study of the realities of our politics.

Very useless bunch, the PDP are. I was thoroughly ashamed of them during the last election. LP was a stronger opposition than PDP

@the bolded, you make this assertion because you already believe that Peter Obi was copied by Tinubu. Remember that after Tinubu released his manifesto, Peter Obi was asked to release his own manifesto and he claimed the best manifesto was everything he said with his mouth. When he saw his stance was unpopular, Pat Utomi rushed a wishy washy document that was eventually released about a month and half after Tinubu’s manifesto.

Take a look at this nairaland thread where Obi admitted he had no manifesto after Tinubu’s manifesto was released:

https://www.nairaland.com/7399234/video-dont-manifesto-peter-obi

Except you claim Tinubu entered Obi’s head to imagine Obi's manifesto, then you are dead wrong to claim Obi was copied.

You lied, and for that alone, you cannot lectire me on politicians copying each other.

I think you lack understanding of what opposition means. If Labour Party is the main apposition party, how come their elected members are not holding minority whip, minority leader and co in the national assembly? Opposition is not by who is the loudest voice in the political space. You actually earn it by being the first runner up in the election.

I hope you are objective enough to understand me, and do not let your hate blind your ability to apply your brains.

LP don't exist. They're confusing LP with the Obidient movement. They're two different things. People rallied round Obi because they wanted something different. After the presidential election, LP disappeared into oblivion.

Eventhough PDP dey mumu, they're still the major opposition party in Nigeria. You can see that in the number of national assembly members and governors they have across Nigeria.
