Bride price itself in most of these
communities are not really high, the issue is the money charged for the wedding
ceremonies.

Again, if the status of a dead man,
culture demands that 2 cows must be killed for his burial, are you saying he should now simply be buried without this requirement
because the paramount chief, who is reported
to be a pastor says so❓

Na una ancestors go begin kee una
one by one.

Bride Price is only for the parents of the girl. Traditional rites are where the buck of the money lies.

In some parts of the Southeast, the bride price is N70 only. The traditional rites have three lists for men, women and the parents. My father collected N10,000 for my bride price then.

The Bayelsa man that escaped through the bush due to excessive billing during his traditional wedding rites in Imo state readily comes to mind.

At least this ones have realised that men willing to settle down are difficult to get.

Hi famz, I really need your assistance. I am a fresh graduate that is job hunting and staying with a friend (kindly note that this dude once stay in my apartment before I went for service and I never for once saw it as a big deal). He seems okay about my stay at first but his attitude towards me has changed completely. I teach in a school where I earn 35k and I have managed to save up some money to rent an apartment. His attitude towards me is becoming unbearable and I am presently depressed and do not know where to run. Kindly assist with whatever God lays in your heart. 2125955735 UBA

What many f00ls don't know is that in Igbo culture, the parents of the bride spends more than the groom in most cases. When parents buy fridges , motorcycles, cushion chairs, GP tanks , kitchen utensils etc to settle their daughter and you are still crying about what the groom spent which more of it are not even mandatory but just for self ego
Eg in most Igbo traditional marriages these days cows are slaughtered whereas the mandatory animal is just goat. Well, am talking from enugu perspective, don't know about others
