Bride price itself in most of these
communities are not really high, the issue is the money charged for the wedding
ceremonies.

Again, if the status of a dead man,
culture demands that 2 cows must be killed for his burial, are you saying he should now simply be buried without this requirement
because the paramount chief, who is reported
to be a pastor says so❓

Blacks! There is no price on a human being - whether literal or figurative. Marriage is simply the verbal declaration of intent by two adults that have come of age that they want to spend their lives together in the presence of witnesses. Simple!.

Subhumans will come under this mention and start frothing in the mouth about how dare you talk against their sacred brideprice. But ask a Nigerian or a black African what brideprice really means and how it came about, he has nothing to say other than hurl shallow emotive invectives about tradition..

@ bolded says it all about you, who then is the subhuman ? The people been called or the person calling others? Food for tonight.

The Bayelsa man that escaped through the bush due to excessive billing during his traditional wedding rites in Imo state readily comes to mind.

At least these ones have realised that men willing to settle down are difficult to get.

Kudos!
The burial rites is the most annoying one. The living will be borrowing money to bury the dead.

E don dey red for Odoma women as men are not marrying any longer due to outrageous traditional marriage billings. Nice one to the traditional ruler and the Ibo people need to copy this as so many of their ladies are getting too old to get married due to their unrealistic marriage billings.

It's called culture, way of life of a group of people with similarities and understanding. Some people unlike you are not ready to throw culture under the bus. It's still very common in asia and the middle east, just because Americans and some European countries turn there back on something doesn't translate to total abolishment. I am sure people like you are going to vote in favour on lgbtq nonsense.

Again, nothing intelligent to say other than "culture".. Culture like you defined is a way of life, something thought of as the best way to live at a particular point in time. That way of life ought to be continually revisited and improved or discarded, but never static. You want to be static, yet want to enjoy the improvements others have made, hence you beg, crawl, pray for visa.
Throwing tantrum of lgtbq as blackmail, cos you have nothing intelligent to say. Subhuman

Again, a subhuman's way of thinking - blame the whiteman. He can't think for himself, he can't give cogent reasons for doing what he is doing. He wants to continue to be backward, yet want to enjoy the goodies those in other climes who were not afraid to change, improve and discard are enjoying, hence will pray, fast, beg, cry for visa

In some parts of Igboland, it is not even the bride price that is the problem, some is even as low as 50 Naira, while some don't even have a definite price ,twhatever the groom to be has , he place on the plate that would be presented and in most cases you will see the would be Father in law returning the money to the Groom to be.

Our problem in Igboland is that list that the groom will collect, where number of things to buy are listed. I am telling you, you can spend Millions of Naira in order to fulfill all that is required in that list. I wish Igboland will come together and have a definite price to be paid that will cover all those things they listed in that list.

Finally that of Burial ceremony should be looked into in Igboland. People sell land to bury their loved ones in Igboland, very unfortunate. Any family that is not financially flamboyant enough, if their loved one dies, they are not crying because the person is dead, they are crying because of the money that would be good involved in burying the person. May God Ndi Igbo!!!
