ANOTHER SOLDIER REACT TO VIRAL VIDEO OF GOV SANWO - OLU ARRESTING HIS COLLEAGUE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW99UaCaSPg A soldier has slammed the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for ordering the arrest of his colleague alongside three other motorcyclists for driving against traffic on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The yet-to-be-identified soldier, who appeared to be defending his colleague in a viral video on Thursday, faulted Sanwo-Olu for calling a soldier ‘useless’ in the presence of ‘bastard civilians’. On Tuesday, ordered the arrest of a soldier and three other motorcyclists for driving against traffic on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. In a viral video, Sanwo-Olu was seen ordering his men to put one of the motorcyclists who claimed to be a soldier into the vehicle, stating that he was going to lock him up. Reacting to the arrest, the soldier who believed that his colleague had done nothing to have deserved an arrest, said the state governor had no right to arrest a soldier, especially in front of his barracks. He claimed that soldiers are not under the control of any state governor but their senior officers. 2 Likes

Major General salutes governor. This private knows nothing. If hands of his superiors touch am, he will end up in the guard room for a long time. What children cannot see while standing up, old people can see while sitting down. See all these children soldiers ranting up and down online. They should have been sensible enough to observe their older colleague on how to conduct themselves. Well, grab your popcorn and brace up for part two when disciplinary measure would be taken against them. 12 Likes 1 Share |

LikeAking:Yes. Nigerian soldiers, especially the NCOs, misbehaves and are unruly alot. They break the law at will because they recently joined as recruits and the camo is always shacking them. Same reason why they pounce on civilians at the slightest provocation. The officer cadres like their Oga at the top, (COAS) Lagbaja, below are well mannered and cultured. 6 Likes 1 Share

They need to enlighten these guys honestly.. no be everything you go react to or do record to post online. Discipline and secrecy is key. What this soldier did is just like insulting a Colonel in the Army or even ranks higher than that.. A State Governor still deserves his respect. 1 Like |

The curriculum of the Nigeria army depot needs to be overhauled and civilian lecturers introduced to better mould the junior cadre officers of the army especially. The tirades from the 2 recruits making the rounds in the cyber space can be extrapolated as the mind-frame of a typical soldier on the street towards civilians however their status in society. This is appalling to say the least. 1 Like 1 Share |

Sanwo Olu honestly didn't handle the matter well, he lacked decorum. There's already LASTMA and it has stipulated penalties for traffic offences. Why not just turn the soldier around, fine him and send him on his way or at worst, call the commandant of that barracks to take action ? That drama was totally unnecessary. These soldiers insulting the governor should also shut their traps, driving one way is an offence which could cause accidents and even loss of life. The fact the lance corporal has metal in his arm doesn't give him the right to break the law in any society home and abroad, I expect the COAS to court-martial these rubber mouths before the situation goes out of hand. Ps, Sanwo Olu should work on that Ojo road, it's also part of Lagos State 1 Like |

princemillla: Can the Nigerian Police Arrest a Soldier? Generalizations are dangerous. Every case involving a potential soldier’s arrest should be assessed on its own merits, considering the specific circumstances and applicable laws. *Military jurisdiction takes precedence for on-duty offenses. The police cannot arrest a soldier for infractions committed within the scope of their military service. Off-duty offenses fall under civilian law. Soldiers are subject to the same arrest procedures as any citizen for non-military crimes. Collaboration and established protocols often govern situations involving minor disturbances or traffic accidents. Seeking legal counsel is crucial for navigating the complexities of the legal framework and ensuring a just outcome.
