If there were a bill proposing the adoption of Kiswahili as our official language, would you be in support or against? Why?

Why should anyone

Is Swahili spoken by any indigenous group in Nigeria?

It's not even an heritage like English...

Hausa will be better

Good point; that makes sense. But, some might argue that Hausa is not neutral enough. I see your point that Swahili is not our language sha

Yeah sure

I don't understand what you mean by neutral tho

That's not how languges operate, what matters is usability

Hausa is the most widely spoken language in Nigeria already, even in West Africa

Ok I see what u mean, in Nigeria we have many tribalists and they tribalism first in everything, but language is a phenomenon

Unofficially, Hausa is a lingua Franca in Nigeria already

Apart from English it's impossible to have any other official language.

Only thing that comes close is Yoruba because of the music/migration to their land attached to it or Igbo because of their nationwide spread:

Hausa to the do themselves themselves

Fulani is terrorist language

I don’t like Yoruba. It is too kpakoish. My butter mouth won’t be able to handle it. Igbo is out of the question, even worse.

That's a very bold claim. English has been an official language for less than 100 years; anything is possible

Against because we already have pidgin English which has a decent enough language structure and is understood by a good chunk of the population.
