when did you apply, when did you get an approval? kindly correspond
20th of November 2023 and got it 5th of December. It was for a week or so. So I have reapplied for another visa as I am going back to SA. My flight was on the 7th but this people disappointed me and I am looking forward to next 17th as I have kept my ticket open.

Yes, attach DUMMY booking for flight. DO NOT PAY FOR IT
USE travelbeta.com for that.

Business documents upload on vfs evisa.
Please reconfirm for better clarity you can screenshot.

Thanks for mentioning travelbeta.com. I can see good rates there. Are there more you can recommend? I know of Skyscanner

Meanwhile, do I have to have valid flight reservation before I can apply for a South African tourist visa?

Get Angolan transit visa for $30. Processing time is three days.

The price difference between Taag and Kenya Airways (my usual airline) trip to SA is over 100k. If I get a transit visa for $30 and use the 16hrs to get a tour around the city, it will be nice and add to my experience. What do you think and how do I go about getting this transit visa? I am checking Google already though...lol

Hello @Hunee, Afrikankel and others,
Please I have been issued South African Evisa which states that validate date as 19th Jan and Expiry date as 29h January through DHA direct.

Since SA tourist visa is usually 90days, does it mean I can come in between 19th and 29th January then stay for not more than 90days or I was just given 10days visa to come and leave within that 19th and 29th January?

Hello bro, how long did it take them to issue you the visa? Did you have to book a flight to support your visa application? What documents did you submit? Better still, please can we connect on WhatsApp? I am looking to vacation in SA this quarter and I want to start the process

I submitted since 18th of October and I was supposed to travel a month later but I got a response from them in early December to submit a new flight itinerary which I did for 15th January to leave SA 22nd of January.

As for documents, I submitted a lot of them..previous travel visas, child consent letter for my kids, employer intro letter for I and my wife, yellow fever certificate for all of us but immunisation certificate will have sufficed for my kids, proof of accommodation booking (this wasn’t part of the requirements, I just added it) and then return ticket for all of us.

So you are staying I can’t stay in SA beyond 26th January correct?

This is very helpful. But you mean you had to buy new flight tickets to continue the application?

Yes it was me, remember my sticker visa was for 30 days would expire on or before the 31/12/23.

But you advised me to apply again since I needed to be in SA in Jan using the vfsonline, i did and they denied me can you imagine claiming that my bankstatement is not up to 3 months, i sent them an email showing them my bankststement was up to 3 months, they replied saying there cannot adjust the decision and I should apply again..each application is 87 dollars. I did and till today there is no feed back on my application.

hunee:
I can not believe you are still facing visa. Were you not the one that said you got a sticker visa? What is the current status? you did not travel again?

Honest suggestion, stick to Cape Town central business district. Almost everything you want there as a tourist (beach, water front, lovely restaurants, aquarium, paragliding, NG food, malls, nice view etc) but plan a day or 2 out of CBD for wine tasting which you might go to stellenbosch for, Cape Point, skydiving, bungee jumping or shark diving. Somewhat expensive but adventureous.
Also, please avoid going out by foot after 8pm unless you are in a ride. Avoid random people calling you on the streets (sure you know what I mean).

Exaggerated opinion. Lived around SA and Capetown is the only place i have genuinely felt safe. Its the no 1 tourist destination in Africa and thousands of tourists fly in here weekly to enjoy our beautiful city.

If you are coming to Capetown, stay at sea point, green point, or v&a waterfront or maybe cbd. Those are central to many Cape Town activities. Dont let anyone scare you.
The link below can help you book popular tourist activities in Capetown at reasonable rates. Much cheaper than anything else online.

Personally had their wine tours 3 different times. Go on tiktok and Instagram and find out for yourself what tourists do.

Please how do i get a bus from Johannesburg to Durban, can i just get a bus anytime i get to Johannesburg or do i need to prebook. I am flying from Nigeria to Johannesburg. And if you have any link to get a bus or train, kindly share. Thank you.
080bjaked:

FlySafair is usually the cheapest between Jborg and Cptown. Used them a couple of times and it was good experience (except for zero in-flight entertainment)
However if your trip is mainly for tourism purpose, maybe you can use the bus or train (prasa has resumed back). That way you'd enjoy the trip but if you are constrained by time, flight is best.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Oladunni12: 9:46pm On Jan 08
Please help me on this. Someone ask me to help bring two side mirrors from Nigeria to Johannesburg. Please is it safe to take it along. Will the airline accept it. I am flying with Ethiopia Airline. Thanks

I wouldn't even respond to such questions. We have warned persons severally here not to collect items for third parties when they are traveling including friends and associates.
Trust is very scarce these days.

And already Nigerians are flagged and known to be vast in drug peddling business in SA.

So oladunni , BE careful

@Africankel, how are you?

That depends on how faraway your destination is from Jo'burg. If it's inter-city or long-distance, you can prepurchase bus/train tickets on computicket

My brother, this places you mentioned are the most expensive locations in Cptn, i think op should state his budget for clear compass. If he needs something mild, he should consider Observatory, Woodstock, then Parklands and Milnerton for something cheap
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by mekanta7(m): 7:15pm On Jan 09
Honestly SA is totally rough but beautiful in a diverse way, Capetown ranks top 10 most beautiful cities in the world. I always stay cape town when I'm in SA, and so far i have only been to Johannesburg, Durban and cape town. Jobug is a war zone, people on the streets are scary.
If you browse on google, it shows capetown as number one murder city in Africa and also top 10 in the world lol.. In my all my visits, my people no place dey safe for SA pass cape town o... Cape town is another version of Switzerland.
In cape town, don't near Mitchell's Plain, na mini colombia be that side.

You know Cape Town has dangerous areas right? It's not an exaggerated opinion, the likes of Hanover Park, Mitchell's Plain, Langa, Nyanga, Phillipi etc..there's lot of gang violence in those areas and a lot of murders. I'm not talking about touristy areas. Cape Town is like Rio of Brazil, on one hand you have scenic areas on one side you have favelas

it also depend where you are in Johannesburg, sad to say but South Africans have lost that city to illegal immigrants,, you hardly hear local dialects when you walk in the streets.

Travel agent spotted undecided. It's evil people like you who encourage innocent Nigerians to jump from frying pan to fire. Is it now an opinion that Cape town leads Africa cities in murder ? cry. You should even be embarrassed that a South African is even saying out loud while you want us to believe that the place is some heaven. Wickedness. Are you now being paid to promote the shythole country ? I thought you hated being there and discouraged others not to come , now this rubbish? undecided. Have some shame. I hope racists and xenophobic of Cape town catch you there .
it is a safe haven for tourists. And South Africa is many things but not a shithole

Yeah there are beautiful places in joburg too. I stayed Kempton and within joules area.
But i think the immigrants over there do menial jobs, i would say they lost the country to drug abuse by there own people. That country needs serious sanitation.
