Can you imagine? they are just fooling you. i bet it is the locals in those communities who demanded for those rams to appease the gods, and the Chinese people do not want wahala from the community, so they decided to yield to their demand. same thing always happens here in the Niger delta when companies are building pipeline, the villagers will just go and build one small shrine along the Right of way of the pipeline and when the company approach that they want to demolish the shrine so the pipeline can pass the villager hustlers will demand for alot of money to appease the gods before the shrine can be demolished. in our case here they collect millions in Naira, but now for Yorubas turn they are demanding for ordinary ram, they should go and learn work properly from the Niger delta people how it is been done to collect millions from these multinational companies.

Make we here word abeg. na this kind thing dey sweet una for that shithole country.

Are the construction companies doing this because it is their custom in Germany, Lebanon and China...or they are doing this because their hosts in Nigeria require it? The distinction should be made clear.

Sit down there. A multinational company in over 60 countries is currently building a big factory in Kwara and there was sacrifice made when the project started, some where buried down and construction was done it. It would be good to know which multinational company...and whether they do animal sacrifices in their home countries.

I can assure you that if Bilfinger Berger made goat sacrifices before building new bridges (or fixing old ones) in Berlin or Dusseldorf, animal rights activists would make life difficult for the company. The average german would probably recoil in shock - it just isn't their way.

When the 3rd mainland bridge was about to be constructed in babangidas days they did a huge sacrifice too to appease the gods. Its nothing new.There are traditional rulers in Lagos and dts the tradition.

We were handling a project close to a major river in a south-south state and the villagers advised us that we should sacrifice to the goddess river before we embarked on the project. We ignored the warning and started the project. Less than a week, we lost 3 brand new equipment. Until we performed the sacrifice before the losses stopped. Sacrifice is common in construction if the project is bridge construction or any major project close to river. Do the needful and continue with your work

IT'S the construction company's doing. CHINESE, LEBANESE, INDIANS usually do this before they start a complex projects especially ones that pass through swampy, riverine, lagoon, creek, ocean or other SCARY terrains.

My question still stands.

Do all these construction companies perform animal sacrifices before a project in their home countries? You mentioned Julius Berger in one of your earlier posts and how they slaughtered animals before building 3rd mainland bridge in Lagos. I can assure you that Bilfinger Berger doesn't do public goat sacrifices before building bridges, canals or overpasses in Germany. It just isn't their way.

Nigeria will remain Nigeria. Backward & grossly superstitious. I'm sure the Nigerian workers convinced the Chinese that this fvckery is significant to the work. What a pity.
