They are stepping into and would be disturbing realm and element not there's so need to settle before anything, our people of old know these things and many more hence why they live long.
I need the support of people like you for my forthcoming song, where I talked about how the slave masters came to Africa to enslave our ancestors, torture and cart away our treasures without conscience....They said our gods are useless and demonic and they later came back to give us religion.... Now in 21st century they are coming back in troops to learn Africans religion, practicing ifa and every other things they Condemned....

Some indomie generation don't really know what transpired when they are constructing the bridge . Many people lost their lives. Go and ask your parents what they refer or call "spanner"

Religious freedom is allowed as long as they don't step on other people's rights.

A foreign construction company doesn't have any freedom of sacrificing rams on the infrastructure of Nigeria. No rights whatsoever!

This ritual is to appease the Marine spirits in charge of that particular water body, it's a message they are sending to the powers that they recognize their authority over the waters, they are afraid if they don't carry out these sacrifices, the Marine powers may fight against whatever construction work is to be carried out, some of the consequences they believe may lead to loss of life for intruding into a territory without obtaining permission from the powers that be.
But they are doing this out of ignorance of the fact that these territories no longer belong to these criminal powers called Marine spirits, although it once belonged to them because they stole it from Adam, but Jesus Christ has redeemed the land from the dominion of these powers when he rose from the dead, he said all power in heaven, and on earth, and beneath the earth has been given to me, and he commanded us to go in his name and enforce this power over these criminal spirits, Jesus said in Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. "In it" meaning his death, burial, and resurrection, but ignorant people still believe and accord these spirits undue and undeserved recognition, because they don't know what Jesus has done for them, the implications behind this sacrifice is that blood is involved, which makes it a serious matter, because a blood covenant has been engaged between the contractors or whoever they represent and the demons, and the thing about blood covenant is that it must be renewed periodically otherwise there will be severe punishment from the spirits once you fail to keep to your side of the covenant, the spirits may go ahead to take life by causing accidents on that bridge that will result in the loss of lives in order to obtain blood, as it is, it is left for christians around there who know their rights in the Lord, to step on that bridge and nullify and break these useless covenants.
baba forget that thing na scamming format dem employ here. which yeye spirit, viullagers wan eat ram, make a hear. Na format wen them nor learn well be that. them for bill the company like at least 100million naira, them for pay instead of all this rubbish, here for south-south na watin we dey bill all this company just to appease the gods to clear shrine from right of way. we go tell them say if them nor do am the gods go vest scatter everywhere. so make them bring the money so we go mobilize different chief priest make them relocate the god to a new home. Aje them dey pay scatter.

Jesus did not collect tithes or offering from anyone.

Those pastors collecting tithes and offerings are scammers.
Apostle Paul warned church leaders not to constitute themselves as parasites to their followers. He specifically asked everyone to go and work and make their money instead of living off people.

Nobody should stay idle just because he is a pastor

It would be good to know which multinational company...and whether they do animal sacrifices in their home countries.

I can assure you that if Bilfinger Berger made goat sacrifices before building new bridges (or fixing old ones) in Berlin or Dusseldorf, animal rights activists would make life difficult for the company. The average german would probably recoil in shock - it just isn't their way.

See, sacrifice is sacrifice whether you use animals, fruits or burn/kill/warp something with or without life. Not everything
is done to the camera, J or B Berger won't do such a thing to the face of camera in a country that has laws against such but that doesn't mean that they can't, couldn't or didn't do it.

You should have awarded the contract to urselves as christians and Muslims if you so believe in yourselves.

This sort of argument can be used to justify anything (or everything).

You haven't really advanced anything to support the claim that Julius Berger is even remotely likely to carry out goat sacrifices (overtly or covertly) as a matter of routine in all (or even most) of the countries it does business.

Animal sacrifice is part of the culture in several parts of Nigeria - and construction companies in Nigeria have thought it good for business to comply with these cultural requirements. Carrying out the same kind of animal sacrifice before building a bridge or a road is simply not the culture in Berlin or Geneva. I did a couple of web searches on animal sacrifice in civil engineering in Europe but nothing came out of it. (Some database somewhere has probably flagged me for this unusual use of public search engines but...it is what it is). Lets not split hairs here - this practice is more common in (though not exclusive to) our own part of the world.

Let me tell you a plain truth. Anyone who calls himself a Christian but afraid of death is not a follower of Christ. Majority of direct disciples of Christ died due to persecution. Until you begin to see this world as a place ure just passing bye and waiting to meet with the Lord especially after fulfilling your destiny here, ure not a Christ follower. Besides, the killing in plateau is the failure of your government but the real hope is for the dead to be with the Lord. That's the joy of it all

Give to Cesear what belongs to him. We were handling a project close to a major river in a south-south state and the villagers advised us that we should sacrifice to the goddess river before we embarked on the project. We ignored the warning and started the project. Less than a week, we lost 3 brand new equipment. Until we performed the sacrifice before the losses stopped. Sacrifice is common in construction if the project is bridge construction or any major project close to river. Do the needful and continue with your work
No mind all this small children on nairaland. Dem think say life dey ordinary. There is a spiritual or mystical part to life. The river is the abode of some gods/goddesses ( demons) and must be appeased

Yes, in this time and age. There is nothing wrong with it. It is a sacrifice just as you offer sacrifices in your church.

What is a sacrifice? A sacrifice is the offering of a victim, bloody (like the ram you see here), or bloodless (like fruits and vegetables and also the money you give in your church), upon an alter by a priest to a deity, whoever of whatever deity that is, for any reason whatsoever (it could be for atonement, appeasement, thanksgiving, petition, praise or worship).
